[REVIEW] The Art of Seeing Photobook by Renez Wednesday on Kindle

With majority of the population owning a smartphone that comes with a camera function, it seems like everyone can be a photographer. However, in order to be a good photographer, it takes both skills and talent. I've love taking photos as it allows me to capture many precious moments which when I looked back years later became such fond memories.

Recently, I was introduced to this e-book called "The Art of Seeing - A Beginner's Guide to Photography by Renez Wednesday" on Kindle and I thought maybe it's time to gain more knowledge and find out why some people is always able to take such good photographs compared to others. As this e-book mainly touches on the perception of the surroundings and sensitivity in the composition instead of the technicality of using a camera, even people like me who only take photos using an iPhone is able to gain some useful insights through this e-book.

Some interesting background with regards to the writer, Renez Wednesday before I share more about the e-book and what I've learnt. Renez Wednesday is a Singapore based, Professional Photographer for more than 10 years and at the young age of 14, she was already awarded an exhibition at Singapore Art Museum. When she was 17, a sudden bout of high fever caused her to become blind temporarily and this led her to come to a decision to share her vision to the world is she recovers. She then explored further in her photography journey. In 2010, she published her own Photography book called Composing Dreams which was partially inspired by her dreams at night. A year later, due to overwhelming feedback, Renez also started her own line of Photography Art Postcards, which were sold islandwide in concept stores and museums in Singapore.

In 2012, her photo works were feature in various Magazines and Newspapers and her exhibits can be found at Community Centres and MRT stations in Singapore. In 2014, she further shared her knowledge in photography and has since taken in over 200 students in her Photography community. She is delighted to share her knowledge with more people through this book.

I love how this book is so easy to understand with lots of photo examples. Learnt about the Rule of Thirds for composition and before this, I though it's always better to place the main subject in the middle but the Rule of Thirds is where the main subject is placed at the intersection of the lines. Another section I love is on the Colour Theory that identify colour on the different spectrum and which colour blend best suits the photo. I'm glad that this book has helped me see things in a more photographic way. I'm still trying to find my own vision and style when it comes to taking photos such as flatlays. Although I can't be an expert overnight just by finish reading this book but I will definitely put into practice some of the things learnt and hopefully be able to take better photos than before.

Just to share again this book is available on Amazon Kindle and is priced at a special Book Launch Promo price of US$ 6.95 instead of US$39.90. This promotion is valid for 2 months only so get your copy today at Amazon Kindle Book Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HL8LRB5.

Gifts - Bear + guide book to making a lot of MONEY $$$

This few days has been much of a learning process. Attended a short training on Monday and today. Monday's training was about Diabetes and Hypertension and today's training is more on a refresher course of the data entry system and common mistakes. Really, one can never stop learning. Even my friend will be going for further studies soon. Mmm. There's so much to learn, so much to know, so much to find out, so much to remember and yet we are only utilizing 10% of our human brain?!

Anyway, my idolize FSC gave me two gifts today. One baby polar bear called Eister (which is so soft and hug-gable, I'm hugging it now) and a book titled "Wink and Grow Rich." It's a step by step guide to making a lot of money! So hopefully after reading the 14 chapters, I can be able to apply them in real life and make lots of money!

This book complies some of the principles in a simple manner with illustrations to guide along. Storyline started with a nine years old boy left with a one dollar note in his hand trying to find wealth by visiting the Well of Wealth as per his sick and tired father's instruction. However, on the journey, he saw an old lady which guided him to another path and passed him a notebook with "Think it, ink it" scribbled on it. Later in his journey, he met The Optometrist, The Plumber, The Garderner, The Fisherman, The Rower, The Musician, The Innkeeper, The Carpenter, The Old Lady again.

I have only finished reading the part on The Optometrist and I'm really absorbing the golden rules.

"Quality of communication = Quality of life"
The four levels of communications are 1. Exchange 2. Connect 3. Motivate 4. Inspire

It's like talking about how we network with people. At the first level, people simply EXCHANGE conversations, spending hours complaining or chatting but create no clarity and no wealth. At the second level, people get more clarity, they CONNECT with others and form great team players. At third level, this group of people are focused and others can relate to them. They become Leaders and MOTIVATE people around them which create connection and momentum. The last level is when you INSPIRE and become the leader of leaders. To inspire, we need a clear, focused vision. Talking about Vision, no wonder my boss can be so successful, he also talks about vision all the time.

I'm curious as to what other guidelines the rest of the people will share but it's time for bed now so I shall just stop here.

Reading The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud

Reading the just borrowed novel at this moment brought back fresh memories of the scenes in the movie Charlie St. Clouds (post) which I've watched last month. It's better that I've watched the movie before reading the novel to avoid further disappointment and as I was reading I can put the casts' face into the storyline too.

The novel definitely let me get an in depth details of what the story is about. Some part was different and cut off away from the movie.

The novel explained more about how Charliec can feel Tess when she was supposed to be "dead". Explained in the book was the reason that people who die suddenly or didn't want to let go can exert a strong physical force and they're the ones who make lights flicker etc. There are many levels in the afterlife.
