[Cafe] Brunches Cafe at 96 Rangoon Road (With Complimentary WI-FI & Vintage Collections for Sales)

Happy Mid-Week!

Greetings from my bff, Lis and myself at Brunches Cafe. So nice to chill and catch-up at this cozy cafe that we didn't even realized that we've spent like almost 3 hours there! Times just flies when you are enjoying yourself.

Bunches offers a very nice and relaxing ambiance. The different tables are nicely arranged within an appropriate distance apart so there's enough privacy to have a good conversation with your friends. Their long table is big enough to cater up to a group of 10 pax.

Super loving their Christmas decorations making the whole cafe full of happy vibes and festive spirits.

Some of the seats in this cafe are converted from old car body that is cut into halves and padded with cushioned seats, completed with a table in between the two seats. Needless to say, this is probably the most eye-catching and sought after seat in the cafe. We just had to take photos of us sitting in there even though we were sitting at the normal seat.

At the counter.

Everything seems to look so good inside the menu and we had trouble making up our mind on what to order. Thus, we requested the friendly staff to help us decide and introduce some of their more popular dishes. So, we were totally clueless on what will be served to us! Surprises!

TEA BY THE POT - $5.90 PER POT
(Max of 2 teacups per pot)

A total of 6 different kind of teas are available for order and each comes with their own effects like rejuvenate, relax, cool, cleanse, beauty or simply black tea. We had the Chrysanthemum Bud Tea with Wolfberry, Red Dates & Dried Longan which is for cooling and inner strength. This thirst quenching tea is sweet and also refillable.

BRUNCHES SPECIAL : COFFEE ON THE ROCK
Chocolate Flavour - $6.90

If you are not exactly a tea lover, they also have a list of coffee to choose from. We were introduced to their Brunches Special called Coffee on the rock which comes in three different flavours and prices, original flavour at $6.50, chocolate flavour at $6.90 or bailey's flavour at $7.90. We get the chocolate flavour one and what we have to do is to pour the milk into the glass cup with the coffee ice cube inside. Observe and smell the aroma of how the coffee ice cube slowly melt and you will get your cup of cold and nice coffee in a while.

  FRUTTI DI MARE - $16.90

Frutti Di Mare literally means "Fruit of the Sea" and is a popular multi-seafood dish. For this dish, it's Linguine cooked with Shrimps, Squid, Mussel and Clams served with garlic, chilli flakes and cherry tomato sauce. The flavour is just nice and just a little bit of spiciness.

 GOLDEN RISOTTO BALL - $16.90

Breaded risotto balls baked until crispy with a nice golden brown exterior that is filed with bacon and cheese. Served with Chicken in Tomato Sauce and Salad. Simply delicious. Thank you for introducing these dishes to us, if we were to order ourselves, I bet we would just go for the usual chicken steak, duck leg but this is really something new that I've never tried before!

Beside the main courses, Brunches also serves cakes and breads if you just want to have a small bites or desserts after your meal.

* Prices are subjected to 10% service charges and 7% GST

Beside browsing through the food items, one can also browse through the different varieties of vintage items that are being displayed in the cafe. All these are for sale too!

Merry Christmas! Spot this giant inflatable snow globe and you will not miss the cafe!

[Cafe] La Marelle Boutique Cafe at Baghdad Street

La Marelle is a French boutique cafe worth visiting during your spare time. I fall in love with their pink whimsical decorations, flowery paper lanterns as lights and walls of cloud and raindrop motifs. Every corner is a good spot for photo taking and it started from the stairs that we walked up.

"La Marelle is a french brand who makes colourful and vibrant fashion accessories designed by artists. For 10 years, La Marelle designs unique creation to make people happy. Created by Pascale Nivet (alias Melle Héloïse) and Fabrice Bernetière, La Marelle has grown from editing porcelain plates in 2003 to a well-known brand distributed in more than 40 countries and 2000 selling points in France and abroad. The range of products has been extended to bags, accessories, jewellery, decoration, cards, stationery and toys." excerpt from their google plus page.

Free flow water.

When I saw the cakes and macarons at the glass display, I just couldn't help it but to order all the different coloured macarons that were there. That's why we ended up with 6 macarons.  I just need to be sure I tried all the different flavours of the macarons. xP Simply like the way they present the rainbow cake on a beautiful plate and even draw a butterfly on the plate. That's really sweet!

Sweet dreams are made of these! Join me in my quest to search for that perfect rainbow cake. This is considered quite decent.

Thank you Tini for this great recommendation and bringing me here. Oh ya, I just read that their suppliers are Halal-certified suppliers.

Total Spending

1 Macarons Set of 5 : S$11.30
1 French Vanilla Macaron : S$2.35
1 Rainbow Cake : S$8.90
1 Blanche - Apple/Peach : S$6.90

Totally worth the money. We just chilled there for about 2 hours and didn't get chased out whatsoever.

My friend screenshot that my photos collage taken at La Marelle has made it to the 1111 posts mark on my instagram, so this deserves to be posted here too.

Have a great weekend! Cheers!

Aaron Yan (炎亞綸) [The Moment] Music Party at NEVERLAND II

.................................................................
每一个无法忘怀的纪念日
都应该要有一首主题歌
心动的 / 心酸的 / 甜蜜的 / 苦涩的 /
憧憬的 / 遗憾的 / 勇敢的 / 脆弱的
...................................................................

Big thanks to Shu Qing for inviting me to join her at the Aaron Yan's 炎亚纶 The Moment Music Party at Neverland II. It's because of this Music Party that I get to know Aaron Yan and his songs. Aaron Yan is actually the youngest member of the popular Taiwanese boy group, Fahrenheit 飛輪海. Yes, I know the group Fahrenheit and a few of their songs, but prior to this music party, I only know one member, and that's Wu Zun 吳尊。 This group belongs to the pretty boys group. 各个都是美少男。

Although the ticket says 6pm, we still waited and queued for about 45 minutes before we went in.

Yes 93.3FM Deejay, Wei Bin 伟彬 was the host of this music party. She was given a tough task to pick 10 lucky fans to go up the stage for a mini game session. Tough cause everyone was like, "Pick me! Pick me!"

The first song he sang is called 可能你还爱我, the lyrics was written by himself. Quite a nice song.

The one thing that he kept with him for the longest time ever for memory was his first tooth that dropped off but later it was lost when he moved house. Lolol. What a sentimental guy.

The second song he sang was called 比寂寞更寂寞, lyrics also written by himself. I like the chorus part. Lonelier than the loneliest.

"什麽爱能比 寂寞还更寂寞
配合你的演出 何时才能落幕
是否你也想解脱 喔
勉强爱我 只会让我
比寂寞更寂寞"

Now is the time for a break and interactions with the fans. Lucky them, got to be up there on the same stage as their idol. First game they played was 接龙。To continue and come up with a word from the last word the previous person said. Very funny.

The second game is a test to see who can hold their breath the longest. Winners of both games got to take home an exclusive Polaroid photo with Aaron Yan.

One more charming photo of Aaron Yan. He sang another two more songs, 原來 and 紀念日紀念日 is his 主打歌 and the melody is by 阿沁 from F.I.R. I'm in love with these two songs now. He really sang with all his emotions and he's quite thoughtful too, as he will remind those standing in front not to raised up the board too high in case the boards will block the audiences behind. So sweet. After the music party, he had to rushed off to Mediacorp for the Sheng Siong show which I didn't managed to watch.

Dinner at OWL Cafe + Launch Party of Mid-week City Escape at Da Paolo BistroBar

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!!

Just knowing that today's Wednesday is a great feeling, cause it simply means that it's the middle of the week and I'm way over the Monday Blues syndromes plus my precious weekends are closer!

Meet up with Jess Baby and had dinner at OWL Cafe, Star Vista. OWL Coffee is a household brand name and now that they've opened up a cafe, I'm rather curious to try out their dishes! Thanks Jess for introducing me to this cafe.

Their food were inspired by the culturally rich Straits Asian region. We ordered one curry chicken with bread ($7.90), kaya butter toast ($2.00) and teh ($2.20). Shiok! Review to be up soon. Shall bring my parents to have dinner there one of these days.

After our dinner, we slowly made our way to 3 Rochester Park for the launch party of Mid-week City Escape at Da Paolo BistroBar organised by LifestyleAsia.

This newly-launched lounge at Da Paolo BistroBar is nestled in the lush greenery of the Rochester Park. It's the perfect place to chill out and relax from a stressful workday as it's located far away from the city buzz. Not only is there a dinning area, there's also the option of drinking at the bar or lounging at one of the many plush sofas. The drinking area provides exclusive cocktails and yummy bar bites.

Do note that every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, resident DHs Stephen Day, Avneesh, and Debbie Chia would also be there to spin groovy down-tempo music and funky beats to soothe your stresses away.

Jess and I dressing to impress. Thanks Jess for the photo! It was an evening of scrumptious canapes and drinks sponsored by premium spirit EFFEN Vodka.

Thanks Jess again for the gifts. I've got new bag!!! Think she knows very well that I need to change my bag for the new year as I keep bringing out the black sports bag which doesn't suit some occasions. Now this bag comes just in time for the Chinese New Year. Cheers!
