CozyCot Celebrates International Women Day: 100 Most Inspiring Real Women

In the past, women was seen as the weaker gender and faced oppression from the society. There was no voting rights and women were treated unjustly.

It was only until 1911 when International Women Day (IWD) was honored for the first time to end this discrimination.

2011 marks the 100th years of IWD and we in Singapore also have a celebration for this special occasion by having the nomination of 100 most inspiring real women.

This event was made possible by CozyCot, the major sponsor SingTel and other sponsors.

Held at Orchard Central , I am super proud to be 1 of the 100 women chosen.

A sweet message and cupcakes from Oni Cupcakes that we get when we went to out seat.

The venue was packed with people. The 100 most inspiring women, friends and supporters of the 100 most inspiring women, the Cotters and even passer by. However, due to the space constraint, only the 100 most inspiring women got a seat.

Hosts of the day - Elaine Daly and Paul Foster.

She's Nicole Yee the founder of CozyCot which is now the top and well known women's website and portal for beauty, fashion and lifestyle. She is also truly an inspiring women.

Samuel Seow, a celebrity lawyer.

Another inspiring women is Ms Agnes Loek, SingTel director and also the Guest-of-Honour.

There I am receiving the plaque and a goodie bag from the hand of the two most inspiring women themselves. It's really not easy being a woman. We have to take on roles as a filial daughter, a caring mother, a loving wife, a capable employee, a great listening ear for besties  and for some a thoughtful sister. We have to multi tasks and we have to prove our capabilities out there in the workforce with the guys. One traits that I think we women posses is how we can voice out our emotions. I noticed that for guys they usually keep to themselves but for us, when we met with difficulties, we would share them out and we find solutions from others when we shared.

After the award ceremony, there was some performance.

4pm should be the Slim Fit show but the representative was unable to come so replacing this segment is a duet performance.

4.30pm is the Pierre Cardin Game Show. 3 ladies were up on stage for a game.

5pm is Jones Ong's solo singing performance.

My blogger friend and I. She's here supporting her mum.

My supporters = My family :)

They have been standing throughtout the whole ceremony and thus I told them to take a break and go find something to eat first.

Another event at Orchard Central today is the grand opening of Cold Stone Creamery. Just a few steps away from the CozyCot stage, we find ourselves immersed in the loud music and cheers of the staff at Cold Stone Cremery. It drew a long queue outside the shop with a singer singing Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. Heard that those who sing/dance with her will get a discount. Bf ordered a Chocolate Devotion (Chocolate Chips, Brownie & Fudge) and Mum and bro shared a Strawberry Blonde (Graham Cracker Pie Crust, Strawberries, Caramel & Whipped Topping) This two ice-cream really don't come cheap. Ice cream cost $9.90 each and the waffle cost $1. Total cost $21.80. Brother commented that the waffle was not crispy and mum commented that the strawberries were sour. Bf said it was not bad. I think it's not so bad.

Treated dinner at Garuda Padang (Orchard Central). They have buffet at about $25 per pax but we decided to have ala carte.
