[Event] True Italian Taste Project : Italian Food Tasting Night at Alba 1836

As part of the True Italian Taste Project, a Food Tasting Night event was held at Alba 1836, an Italian restaurant located at Duxton Hill. I was invited to this event by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (ICCS) and I took this chance to bring along my bff of 25 years since her workplace is just a walking distance away. A toast to our friendship! Coincidentally, Meryl and her bf were there as well! Happy to see them too.

The True Italian Taste project is a large-scale educational initiative that is promoted and funded by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and implemented by Assocamerestero.  This project aims to bring makers of certified, traditional and niche Italian products to the forefront. By raising awareness and educating consumers on how to differentiate authentic Italian ingredients, the campaign is able to create new business opportunities for these producers, benefitting both Italian food producers and food lovers in the process.

Assocamerestero estimated that in 2018, the sale of Italian Sounding products is worth a global turnover of 90 billion euros - three times higher than Italian exports in the food sector in the previous year. It is only due to the education of the consumers and to the alliances of the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad with the local business communities, that it will be possible to reduce the phenomenon of Italian Sounding.

Upon entering the restaurant, we soon realised that this food tasting session was more of a networking session for the members of ICCS and business partners. While we were free to sample the Italian specialities, the place started to get really crowded in the later part of the night. We tried the Grana Padano Cheese, Parma Ham that was sliced on the spot by Huber's Butchery, Burrata cheese with toast, olive oil with toast and not forgetting lots of Italian wine which is their way of life.

Outside, the finger food was constantly replenished for us to help ourselves with while we admire the night view of this place.

While we were leaving the place, we came across this interesting graffiti wall so we decided to take a group photo together before heading home. Thanks bff for the nice photo!

[Networking Event] Second #BlogMeetSG at Pure Yoga

Last Thursday evening, I attended my second #BlogMeetSG event with my blogger friends, Jessie and Joanne. Here's a group photo with the beautiful and friendly Lucy Waring, who is also the founder of #BlogMeetSG. This time, the networking event was held at the fantastic Pure Yoga studio. Time for some healthy bonding and for that one hour, we all participated in an exclusive Jivamukti Yoga Class.

Pure Yoga is the only yoga studio in Singapore that teaches the Jivamukti Yoga and we were really lucky to be able to try it out ourselves. The lovely lady in pink, Kristin, together with the guy beside her, Azmi took us all through a physical and stimulating journey that night. We were inspired to achieve greater inner peace, unity, environmental awareness and karma consciousness through the yoga session with short messages in between. Thank you so much!

Prior to the start of our Yoga, each of us had a bottle of Young Living Peppermint oil by Essential Oil Remedies placed at the front of our yoga mat. A short while later, we were instructed to rub 1 drop of the oil in between our palms before cupping our hands over our nose to inhale the peppermint oil deeply.

Some of the benefits of the Peppermint Essential Oil

#1 Rub on temples to relieve headache
#2 Place one drop in hot water to make peppermint tea to help indigestion & soothe the tummy.
#3 Inhale when feeling dizzy or nauseous.
#4 Apply on the bottom of the feet to reduce fever
#5 Apply on location for muscular aches and pain
#6 Diffuse peppermint to improve focus and concentration
#7 Place one drop in hot water and inhale to relieve sinus and headache

Some of the group yoga photos. These poses may looks easy but it really stretches my whole body till. Photo credit to Lulabelle Lifestyle.

The most difficult pose of the night has to be this pose and Joanne did it so well! She encouraged me to try but I couldn't stretch my leg that far so I thought I might as well help her captured this achievement unlocked moment. So flexible!

The last part of the yoga session was the most relaxing as we just lie down, close our eyes and relax every part of our body.

A spread of healthy snacks as refreshments after our yoga session. There's coconut water, dried fruits and nuts, etc.

Attended the first #BlogMeetSG networking event organised by +Lucy Waring from Lulabellelifestyle. Held at Edit Lifestyle along Tanglin Road, it was a wonderful evening of socializing with other bloggers as well as some of the local brands.

Loving this way of display like a catalog out of a look book.
Edit Lifestyle is a beautiful lifestyle boutique with different collections from all over the World. The boutique is divided in to two section, one section feels like walking into an open concept walk-in-wardrobe while the other selling home wares makes the whole place very cozy and comfy.

Assorted macaroons were served
Thank you Hediard Café for the macaroons and iced tea. I was trying to match the different colored macaroons to the flavors on the chart. Have already list down this cafe as one of my cafe-hopping venue.

Two different designs of the Panama Hats to choose from
Bill Cain from HAT-OF-CAIN patiently measured and shared with all of us some useful tips on how to wear and choose the Panama Hat. These hats are actually authentically hand woven in Ecuador.

Looking even more gorgeous after wearing the Panama Hat that we got to bring home. Thank you.

Cheers
Happy me.

Chocolates are my favourite

Another sweet treats we got to sample are chocolates from Leela's Fine Chocolate. All the chocolates are hand made by herself and they are just perfect. She also made some creative design out of chocolate such as this golden sports shoe and high heels. This would made an interesting gift.

Enjoyed ourselves that evening. Congrats Meryl for winning this beautiful woven bag by Rameela from Naakka Enterprises. This shade of colour is so easy on the eyes. It's beautiful.
