Lynn Xiao Mei House + Drag Me to Hell

Mmm. Went to Lynn Xiao Mei there and I was treated like a VIP. I was there quite early in the morning, so I continued to sleep there. So nice her room is air-conditioned. :D While I was sleeping, she went out to buy ingredients cause she'll be cooking lunch for me later on. We make a pact since last week about this. Of course, I didn't let her do everything. I did helped her to prepare the ingredients like washing the vegetables, cutting the fish cakes and fish balls. Wahaha. This time round the taste is much better then the first attempt. The first attempt Lynn tried to cook mee sua, she put in the mee sua in the soup first and thus the mee sua have absorbed too much soup and become quite soft.

After eating we went to Jurong Point to watch "Drag Me to Hell". OMG, it's really deserve an award of being the best horror movie of the year. This movie is the movie that Lis keep telling me the synopsis and even Lynn Xiao Mei wanted to watch a second time! It's full of twists and turns and had a decent ending.

Brief plot of the movie

Christine Brown a loan officer at a bank is eyeing the postition of an assistant manager. She had a colleague called Stu who is also eyeing on the same position. Her boss Mr Jacks advise her that she need to be able to make tough decision before she can even think about the position. One day Mrs Ganush came to Christine for an extension of her house mortgage. To prove herself to her boss that she can make tough decision, she decided to decline Mrs Ganush. Mrs Ganush is not satisfied with the answer and continued to beg her. In a panic, Christine shoved her to the floor, shaming her in public.

That night, Mrs Ganush waited for Christine at the car park and attacked her. In the end, Mrs Ganush tore off a button of Christine's coat and started to place a curse on the button. The next few days, Christine met with a lots of unfortunate events caused by the evil spirit. She went to a fortune teller and found out the evil spirit is called Lamia. They tried all means to get rid of the evil spirit, like killing the kitty thinking that the kitty's blood would be a gift to the Lamia, but it didn't worked. In the end, her boyfriend paid $10,000 to enlist the help of San Dena to rid the Lamia but turned out the plan backfired. San Dena managed to chase the Lamia away and died in the process but the fortune teller told Christine that the Lamia is still around and she only have one day to break the curse and that is to give the cursed button to another person but that other person will get the curse. So they put the button into a white envelop. Christine have a very good heart and didn't want to harm the rest, she didn't know who to give the button to, at the last resort, she gave the button back to Mrs Ganush. Mrs Ganush is already dead and she went to the cementry to dig out the grave.

The next day, everything seems to go on smoothly. Her promotion seems certain and she went to the train station to meet her boyfriend who is planning to propose to her. Who knows, her boyfriend took out a white envelop with the cursed button inside. Christine was shocked, the envelop she shoved down Mrs Ganush throat was the one with the rare coin she gave to her boy friend and not the cursed button!!! Then she went "OMG, OMG, OMG" and falls off the track as a train is approching. Just before she get hits, the ground opens and demonic arms pull her down into Hell. Her boyfriend could only watch in tearful eyes and in horror.

After the movie we keep discussing, Lynn Xiao Mei say if she's Christine she would go and kill herself first. Haha. Then we all felt that it's so sad that Christine died in the end.
PS: Being Curious, did a search on Lamia to see whether this evil sprit really exist and found the following explanation:

"The ancient Greeks believed that the Lamia was a vampire who stole little children to drink their blood. She was portrayed as a snake-like creature with a female head and breasts. Usually female, but sometimes referred to as a male or a hermaphrodite.

According to legend, she was once a Libyan queen (or princess) who fell in love with Zeus. Zeus' jealous wife Heradeformed her into a monster and murdered their offspring. She also made Lamia unable to close her eyes, so that she couldn't find any rest from the obsessing image of her dead children. When Zeus saw what had be done to Lamia, he felt pity for her and gave his former lover a gift: she could remove her eyes, and then put them on again. This way, though sleepless, she could rest from her misfortune. Lamia envied the other mothers and took her vengeance by stealing their children and devouring them.

In Lamia and other Poems (1820), the English poet John Keats writes about Lamia too. In this version, based on the information he found in Anatomy of Melancholy of the 1600s, Lamia has the ability to change herself into a beautiful young woman. Here she assumes a human form to win a man's love."

Went to pledge for some Water Conservation thingey and gotten the above. The rest of the day, helped Lynn to set up blog and listen to music. Her favourite singer currently is Lady Gaga and she knows the whole lyrics of Taylor Swift - Love Story. I think she's amazing! Haha.
