Every year during the Mid-Autumn Festival period, there are a few places I'll make it a point to visit for the festive atmosphere and photos, VivoCity is definitely one of them. This year, it feels extra special as VivoCity celebrates its 20th anniversary with the Sky Park at level 3 transformed into a beautiful Sanrio characters Moonlit Garden! I visited in the evening before the sky get dark with my girl and Wan Sin, both of them are a fan of Cinnamoroll while I just love everything that's cute! The Sanrio characters Moonlit Garden features six different character themed zones, each with its own colourful installations and photo spot.
1. MOONLIT GARDEN GATEWAY
Begin the journey beneath a glowing moon as Hello Kitty and friends welcome you.
2. CINNAMOROLL SECRET GARDEN GROVE
The highlight here has to be the huge 5-metre wide Cinnamoroll inflatable, nestled among the lush greenery, surrounded by floral arches and a beautifully designed lantern walls. At this zone, do look out for the specifically marked VC20 lanterns to take park in a fun little lantern riddle challenge inspired by the traditional Mid-Autumn custom of solving riddles. The questions are mostly themed around VivoCity's history. Complete the lantern riddle challenge card and be among the first 50 participants each hour from 5pm to 9pm to redeem an exclusive Sanrio sticker set, while stocks last. (Redemption at Lobby L, Level 3)
3. HELLO KITTY STARLIT LANTERN WALK
We strolled or in my girl's case, skipped along the entire walkway as rows of hanging lanterns and twinkling fairy lights illuminated the path around us. A giant Hello Kitty inflatable welcomed us at the start of the walkway, while a giant My Melody greeted us at the other end. It was a lovely sight seeing my girl skipped her way through happily.
4. HANGYODON MOONLIT WATER GARDEN
After the lantern walk, we arrived at a tranquil waterscape where a charming 5-metre Hangyodon inflatable emerged from the water to welcome visitors into his serene little garden. Floating lights and illuminated water lilies creates a peaceful scene with beautiful reflections shimmering across the surface.
5. POMPOMPURIN MOONCAKE TEA PARTY
The sky was starting to turn dark by the time we reached this photo spot. Here, the Sanrio characters gathered for a charming tea party, with an impressive 7-metre-tall Pompompurin inflatable perched atop an oversized mooncake as the eye-catching centrepiece.
5. KUROMI CARNIVAL KINGDOM
Our last stop was the carnival, featuring a 5-metre-tall Kuromi inflatable and six Sanrio-themed carnival game booths. There was also a Sanrio-themed mini express train that kids could hop on for a short ride. We tried a few games and had fun enjoying the end of our Moonlit Garden visit.

MEET & GREET WITH EXCLUSIVE SANRIO CHARACTERS
We were so excited when we were told that there would be a photo-taking session with a mystery Sanrio Character. I was expecting perhaps just one character to appear, so you can imagine our surprise when not one, but three of them came out to meet us! We managed to snap some photos with this three most popular favourites, which made the experience even more special. These exclusive Meet and Greet sessions will be happening on selected weekends throughout and to redeem a Meet and Greet Pass, shoppers will need to spend a minimum of $80* in a single receipt.

SANRIO CHARACTERS PHOTO SPOTS AROUND VIVOCITY
The Sanrio fun continues inside the mall, where seven larger-than-life , 2-metre-tall Sanrio character inflatables are placed at different locations around the mall. As we walked around the mall, we kept a lookout for the different characters and stopped for photos whenever we spotted one. We managed to find five of the seven characters during our visit, but somehow missed Hello Kitty and Pompompurin. Looks like we will have to come back again to complete the full photo set!

Over at the Sanrio Retail Pop-up at East Court, Level 1 (Near CHAGEE), fans can bring home a little piece of their favourite characters. The pop-up carries a curated selection of official Sanrio merchandise, ranging from character-inspired lifestyle products and accessories to highly sought-after collectibles. One special find that caught our attention was the character tee that are exclusive to VivoCity. What makes it extra fun is that the character design actually turns tanned when exposed to sunlight. The Sanrio Retail Pop-Up is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
TANGS MID-AUTUMN FAIR RETURNS
And since we are already there, we also went to check out the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair too. Featuring nearly 50 renowned brands, there is a wide selection of mooncakes, premium teas and festive treats that are perfect for gifting.

Dropped by after sunset to see the Sky Park at its prettiest as the lights are lighted up! That's when the whole experience really comes alive. Overall, an enjoyable experience combining the traditional Mid-Autumn atmosphere with the lovely world of Sanrio. It's colourful, family-friendly and very photo-worthy.
