Be SPECtacled by Dell Vostro 5460

Dell redefines its latest line-up of ultra-portable laptops with the THINNEST and LIGHTEST 14-inch Vostro laptop to date, the Dell Vostro 5460.

The specification of the Dell Vostro 5460 was presented to us over a sumptuous brunch at the Fine Palate Cafe. We were the few female bloggers there. I think the ratio of female bloggers to male bloggers is like 1:5. What prompted me to attend is the fact that my old laptop has already broken down beyond repair and I'm actually thinking if I should get myself a new one. I'm fine with using my home desktop but if I go overseas I might need a laptop?

Measuring a mere 18.3mm and weighing in at just 1.54kg, this ultra thin and ultra light laptop is the solution to students and employees who have to always carry their laptop to and fro different locations. They should have launched it earlier cause I've been carrying a very heavy laptop that weighs like 2kg last time during my poly days!!! (By the way, laptop is a must and it's compulsory for all Ngee Ann Poly students to own one. Best target group!)

The 14-inch High definition widescreen LED (HD WLED) TrueLife display supports up to 1366 X 768 pixels and comes integrated with stereo speakers and a dedicated subwoofer powered by HD audio with Waves MaxxAudio 4.0. Users can get to enjoy 720p video content in immersive audio and visual detail. There is also an integrated 720HD 1MP camera with microphones for high-definition web-conferencing.

With third generation Intel Core i3 and i5 processors and integrated HD 4000 graphics at its core (or optional 2GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT630M graphics), users can opt for either the standard or Ultrabook configurations of the Vostro 5460.

Encased within a sleek brushed-aluminum chassis in graphite silver or fire red, and a battery life of up to 5 hours is suitable for the sophisticated users. The most important features is that these laptops comes with not one but TWO heat dissipating fans for an ultra quick distribution of heat. So even after hours of usage, the aluminum palm rest area will still be cooling to the skin to ensure the best comfort experience for users.

The 3 little pin size holes help to offset noise by reducing stray sounds and voice echos in the background too. This is one unique features.

"Dell'sVostro line of laptops has always focused on delivering computing performance in a portable package, and today we are proud to bring that promise a step further,” said Deepak Wagh, general manager, Consumer and Small Business, Dell Singapore. “The thin and ultra lightweight Dell Vostro 5460 offers users a much sought-after level of mobility, performance and support together with business-friendly features to enhance everyday productivity.”

The laptop looks more red compared to the official photos. Another added value services that comes with the Vostro 5460 is Dell's In-Home Service after Remote Diagnosis, as well as Dell Backup and Recovery Manager for reliable and fuss-free data protection. For added security, there is also a configuration with Intel Anti-Theft Technology and Identity Protection Technology.

PHOTOS TIME

Ordered the Hot Chocolate to warm up my stomach. Didn't have any breakfast before attending this event. Was really happy that it comes with some mini marshmallows. I don't know why when I made hot chocolate with marshmallows at home, the marshmallows always dissolves into the hot chocolate before I can even take a nice picture.

My brunch consist of Berry Bircher (Green apple, oat meal, black raisins, sour cream, summer berries and almond flakes), Fine Palate Cook Up (Two eggs any style, streaky bacon, English pork sausage, mushrooms, vine cherry tomatoes, harsh brown and toast) and cake. Got to take home a box of the famous LADUREE macaron too.

Thank you, Dell for the invitation.
