Gotten a last minute free movie ticket from Janet (Omy) *THANKS* to catch "Bridesmaids" at Shaw Lido.

Plot

An American Comedy, this movie centers around Annie whose life is in a total mess. Her own bakery business failed and she lost her boyfriend and all her money. Thereafter, she only confides with her best friend, Lillian and had several intimate relationship with a self-centered guy called Ted whom she hopes would be the one that she could get more out of the relationship other then in bed.

Her life continues to slide further down when Lillian got engaged and she was asked to be the bridesmaid. From the maid of honor to the maid of dishonor. Annie became like a sour grape when she saw that her only best friend is on a better term with Helen who happens to be so influential and good at planning.

On the day of the wedding, Lillian disappear and Helen have no choice but to get Annie's help. She was eventually found at her own house. The wedding continues as planned, and Annie resume her post as the bridesmaid.

The final straw happens at the bridal shower when Helen presented a free trip to Paris as a present to Lillian which immediately took away all the glam and become the spotlight as compared to Annie's handmade gift. She turned crazy and Lillian got so angry that she throw her out of the house.

Thoughts

Movie is quite nice. Rated M18, so expect to find a little bit of intimate scenes and more shitty words being used. Laughed abit here and there. Quite predictable plot and towards the end it seems like the director just want to faster make it end with a happy ending. I like the saying of Annie's mother about how when you felt that you've hit the bottom of your life, your life can't get anymore worse since it's already at the bottom and you should look forward to getting up and out. Something like that. Meaningful. The movie also reminds me that it's good to have friends around as you wouldn't know when you need their accompany. Like when Annie was so down and went into the hiding mode at home, who would have expect that it's Megan who came over to her house to console her and tell her to pick herself up.
