Rest in Peace, Ah Gong

Ah Gong passed away on the last day of February. He has been in the hospital for 11 days we all felt that this  is a release of struggle for him. The only regret we have is that nobody was by his side when he passed away in the hospital. Perhaps he doesn't want us to see. He is always a person who do not want others to worry. Even if he falls down, we would only find out days later when we saw the bruise.

How do you know it's time to wear glasses ? ? ?

Received this from my e-mail. An exaggerating way of advertisement by an optician.

How do you know it's time to wear glasses?

When you mistaken someone else shirt as the tissue paper.

When you mistaken a cat slipper as your real cat.

When you mistaken the emergency alarm as an art piece.

When you mistaken the fish bowl as the vase.

Cheerios. Hope you all enjoyed the above 4 advertisement. Chasing away Monday Blues!

A random thoughtful gift from a FSC - 3M Nexcare Acne Patch

Recently, I have a bad outbreak of pimples (medical term: Acne Vulgaris) at my forehead area. It's so obvious that some of my colleagues and FSCs keep commenting about it and started recommending their special remedies. My itchy hand also can't stop trying to squeeze the pimples and so my colleagues have to try to stop me whenever they saw me doing that.

One of my FSC even go the extra mile to buy me this product called "3M Nexcare Acne Patch". I was quite surprise that the brand 3M even came up with such a product. 3M is famous for the post-it-pad

http://solutions.3m.com.sg/wps/portal/3M/en_SG/Post-itBrand/Post-it/Products/One/

that we used so frequent in the office. A browse to their website shows that this brand is not only famous in post-it-pad but also the Scotch-Brite cleaning products, etc. Quite Cool.

I found a detailed review of the 3M Nexcare Acne Patch at this link. Basically, I would highly recommend this product. The one I'm using now is of funky shape like heart shape, star shape, etc. Another package is of big and small circles. When you stick the waterproof patch on the affected area, the colour of the patch camouflage with our skin colour and the patch acted like sponge to absorb the oily secretion, fluid or pus. The acne patch will turned from skin colour to white when the oily secretion is absorbed and thus it's time to change it. My pimples get smaller after pasting the patch overnight and recovered after 2-3 times.

Cozycot 100 Most inspiring real women : Complimentary Ticket for Chippendales 2011 Most Wanted Tour at RWS

For the launch of 100 most inspiring real women, CozyCot invited me to a wonderful treat of 1 complimentary ticket to catch the Chippendales show at Resort World Sentosa today. This is also the first event that will kick start their International Women's Day campaign which will be happening on 12 March 2011.

In my hurried pace to get to the RWS Convention Center, I passed by those zodiac signboard. The first that caught my eye was coincidentally my own zodiac.

I've got no time to read it so I took a photo of the predictions. I really agree with what generally was mentioned in the paragraph about the Tiger's luck in work.

"There may be some obstacles in the work aspect, there is a will, but not the strength . . ." Luckily, it continues with ". . . do not need to worry too much because there seem to have a honored person in the star palace to lend a hand. This will help solve many problems." I think bf is also encountering the same problem at work as me. There is a will but no strength. It's like all drained out with the tons and tons of things. The rest of the luck in health and relationship doesn't read very well too. Keep low profile, poor physical health, emotional instability etc, nothing seems to sounds good. So sad.

Anyway, forget about that bad prediction, I'm gonna enjoy myself this very moment with the Chippendales! Collected my ticket from the CozyCot booth. Block A1, Row 6, Seat 2. That's quite a nice spot to see the show.

Most Wanted Tour all around the world! Envious of me already? Haha

Another sign that leads the way.

Took a photo before the show starts.

The whole wall is full of the hunks.

Image from their official website: http://www.chippendales.com

When guys saw pretty ladies, their nose will bleed. When ladies see hunky guys performing a stripe-tease, we scream out loud. It was so hype up and exciting especially when the guys are doing the booty-poppin', crotch-grabbing' and finally the ripping of their super thin singlets to hip hop tunes of Justin Timberlake's SexyBack. The extent of their nudity is showing their bums. Yes, all clothes were taken off but their used a hat to cover the most intimate part. Loved the choreography and interactions between the Chippendales and the audience. They even randomly select ladies from the floor to be up on stage and be part of the dance. When the song Hero by Enrique was played, they were dressed up as soldiers. The dance was choreographed to be like marching but towards the end, the stripping still goes on.

We wasn't allowed to take any photos or videos of the show so just a video grabbed from YouTube for a teeny weeny feel of the Chippendales show. It's damn good!

It's totally like a stress reliever after singing, shouting, clapping and swinging with the Chippendales. At the end of the whole show, the audiences were allowed to take a photo with the Chippendales on stage. It cost $20 per head to take the photo.

Whisper Pampering Night at Oosh

Sometime I wish I have a Sister who can accompany me to events like the following. Got invited to this Whisper Pampering Night due to my previous post on How to have a happy period and I really had a hard time finding someone to go with me. Luckily, in the end, my colleague is able to make it.

Happy Chinese New Year CNY Day 15 - Mind blocked

Chinese New Year has finally come to an end.
Received the last red packet of $20 today by a manager.

元宵节快乐?
不快乐?

Have you all at one point of time experience a mind block before?
That's what I'm feeling today so please excuse me if my entry today is a bit no link.
My mind just failed to response, those words just seems to be floating by.

The game that best suits me today is Coin Dozer.
(I don't like the cookie version, makes me feels hungry only)
I played all kinds of Coin Dozer - Original, Christmas, Asian New Year, Halloween
(actually those that are FREE only)
It's such a brainless game that all I need to do is just Tap Tap Tap Tap.
And the coins will fall down from the top pushing the rest of the coins to my slot.
I don't even need to look at the screen when I play this game.
It just feels great hearing the coin falls down.
Especially when a lot of coins falls down into my slot.
It will make a sound that sounds like the cash register.

WOW, if only those coins were real.
Start singing: "I wanna be a billionaire so frigging bad."

How to have a happy period ~!

It's that dreaded time of the month again. The time whereby I tend to gets moody and emo easily, the time whereby I can't sleep well at night and have to toss and turn in bed due to cramps in the stomach. During this period, not only I suffered. Bf also have to put up with my nonsense. Pity him.

Moody and glommy

So what exactly can be done to minimize the agony that almost all women faced?

Given to me by Grace C last year.

EAT CHOCOLATE !

Eating chocolate caused the brain to release endorphins which is a chemical which makes us feels good. No wonder I always feels happy when I received chocolate as present. Haha.

From Bugis Junction in April 2010

EXERCISE !

Yes, exercise can help to relax the muscles that caused the cramp and also take your mind off the cramp. So put on that running shoe and start jogging at the nearby park. Do not think that just lying on the bed would help as the cramp would get worse! Before exercising, you may also wish to consider drinking a cup of hot milo. Do not take cold drinks during the few days as it will cause even the cramp to be even more painful.

Sanitary Pad costume wore by someone during the
Halloween party that got listed in the
WTFcostumes.com website

Sanitary Pad

Choosing the right kind of sanitary pad is also one of the important factor to have a happy period. With wings or no wings, extra long or normal, ultra thin or maxi. All these are to the preference of the user depending on whether you are wearing it during the day time or night time, the flow of the menses etc.

Happy already :)

Be positive

Smile, think positive and have a happy period.

"It's a Great Great World" movie screening at National Museum of Singapore

Thanks to I Love Museums and Yesterday.sg that I won a pair of invites to watch "It's a Great Great World" movie at the National Museum of Singapore today.
Watching this movie at the museum holds a different kind of meaning compared to watching it in the cinema. Museums is a place that exhibits collections of historical importance and to be able to watched this movie which brings us back to the 1950s to see how Great World City used to be when it was called 大世界/Tai Say Kai/Great World is like transporting us back to that era and attending a history class.

It is hard to imagine the Great World City shopping mall that looks like this

(Image from http://www.bestplacesexplorer.com )

used to be like this. So full of night life.

(Image from http://www.facebook.com/itsagreatgreatworld )

That reminds me that when I was young, the plot of land that Jurong Point is currently build on used to have a lot of fun fairs every now and then especially during the holiday season. Then, to get in, the entrance fee was only $2! Like Great World, in the fun fair you can find lots of game stalls, roller coaster, bumper cars, pirates ship, tidbits stalls and a pasam malam beside it too. It was a really memorable time back then. Now the whole plot of land is used to build Jurong Point and Jurong Point extension and the Boon Lay interchange. Urbanization and the advancement of technology takes away alot of memories from us and give us new ones. Tikam Tikam was replaced by playing jackpot at casinos (both games need some luck to win). Flamingo was replaced by Zouk/St James Powerhouse etc. Ferris Wheel was replaced by Singapore flyer. The reality now is that the future generations can only depend on a movie or some photographs to get a feel of how Singapore was like in the past. With the building of more and more shopping malls, there just no more empty land left to have those temporary fun fairs. To me, all the malls are of no difference. A certain shop is found in A Shopping Centre, B Shopping Centre, C Shopping Centre etc.

So, I always look forward to school holidays and going to the fun fair. One of my favourite ride at the fun fair is the Ferris Wheel. Sitting on it, feeling the cold breeze blowing onto my face, looking out when my capsule reaches the top is a total enjoyment.

(Image from http://www.singaporeflyer.com)

Now, we have a Singapore Flyer that was crowned the Tallest Ferris Wheel in the world. It stood at Marina Bay area permanently and prominently. I've went there twice. Somehow the feeling is different from the ferris wheel in fun fair. No loud music, no wind blowing on my face. In fact the first time I went, my capsule was so crowded and a baby was crying throughout the ride.

Serving Chin Chow water with Longan. The green drink is lime juice which is not very popular.
Tasty Mee Siam which I took a second round of serving.
Puffs
Fried Carrot cake
Kachang Puteh
Kuehs

Kuehs - Steam Layer, Banana Harumanis, Pulut Srikaya, Kweh Dadar
Putu Mayam with Dessicated Coconut & Orange Sugar

The food catering was from Smiling Orchid and I think their food are generally quite delicious and traditional. Suits the theme. Filled up my stomach before going into the theater at 8.15pm. The movie starts at 8.30pm. So during the 15 minutes, prizes were given out to those who participate in the treasure hunt earlier on. Too bad when I arrived the game was already over.

Finally the movie started. This movie is just awesome! Whoever hasn't watched it yet should faster go and watch it before it was taken down from the cinemas. It's made up of four different set of stories of different characters that revolved around the Great World. The first set by Henry Thia got the audience laughing like mad. The second part is a pure, innocent love story of Joanne. The third part is a story of Xiang Yun as Rose, a famous singer in Flamingo who waited 10 years for her lover to come back. (Xiang Yun's singing was great!) The last part is a tear jerking story of how Kym Ng, Marcus Chin, Bryan Wong kept the wedding banquet of Chew Chor Meng going on despite knowing the Japanese soldiers are nearby. Coincidentally, when we finished the movie and stepped out of the museum. We heard a bomb like sound. It sounded exactly like the bombing effect but was actually some fireworks display at esplanade. This movie is so original that it was 90% in dialects. Hokkien, Cantanese, Teochew, Hainaniese, Hakka.

Facts of the movie:

- It was produced by Raintree Pictures & directed by Kelvin Tong
- The ferris wheel was done by computer special effects as there are no more ferris wheels in Singapore anymore. *So sad :(

Share some trailer and videos.

Share some photos taken after the movie.
