After eating, went straight to GV Marina. The main purpose of being there was to buy a gift for my friend's birthday. Decided to get her a 6 months Singapore Film Society (SFS - founded over 50 years!) card which entitles unlimited free admissions to selected movies at GV Marina, The Picturehouse, The substation or the National Museum. Bought another SFS Reel card for today's selceted movie. The two movies shown today are "Blood: The Last Vampire (91 minutes) (M18/Violence)" and Terminator Salvation (116 minutes ) (PG/ Intense sequences and some violence). We chose the first.

Cinema 1 - Blood: The Last Vampire

(91 minutes) (M18/Violence)

"Born to a human father and a vampire mother, Saya has for centuries been a loner, obsessed with using her samurai skills to rid the world of vampires, all the while knowing that she herself can survive only on blood like those she hunts. When she is sent onto an American military base in Tokyo by the clandestine organization she works for, Saya immediately senses that this may be her opportunity to finally destroy Onigen, the evil patriarch of all vampires. Using her superhuman strength and her sword, she begins to rid the base of its evil infestation in a series of spectacular and elaborate showdowns. However, it is not until she forms her first human friendship in centuries with the young daughter of the bases general that Saya learns her greatest power over Onigen may well be her ability for human connection

Renowned producers Bill Kong (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; Hero) and Abel Nahmias (11 Commandments, La Beuze) team up with director Chris Nahon (Kiss of the Dragon) on this English language vampire slaying adventure, where the hope of the world rests on a beautiful young woman, played by Korean star Ji-hyun Jun (My Sassy Girl). "

Thoughts after watching the movie:

The title of this movie totally matches the plot. BLOOD! It's a bloody movie. From the start till the end, it seems like the killing never stops. The story line was brief, there was not much emotions, just pure blood. The other kid actress called Alice who act along with Saya was quite extra. She keep saying she wanted to fight this battle with Saya, but it seems like she's dragging Saya down, because Saya needs to protect her at all times. Alice also do not have much scenes and did not contribute to the fighting. The ending was like no ending with Saya realising the main demon is her own mother and she killed her. The part where kato sacrifies himself for Saya was terrifying and touching and makes me shiver and weep. Then, there's one part where Alice teacher turned into a demon in the pubs and everyone in the pub who takes on the form of human transform into their real form. They wanted to harm Alice but luckily Saya saved Alice once again. This part the demons keeps coming out and Saya keeps killing them one by one. This scene went on like for a good whole 20 minutes. People were saying out loud, Still got some more monster ah? Still haven't killed finish meh? This type of comments. There's one part quite funny was when Saya chopped of the Bombstyle hair. Overall, I think it was not very worth watching it unless u are a fan of Ji-hyun Jun. Then you can see her showcasing her fighting skill. Bf commented the blood flow like water cooler just gashing out.

My new Mio Box is here. On the left is the new one. All white in colour. Looks all stlyish now but we shall see after a few year will it turn yellowish.
