Celebrating Yc's bday @ Pizza Hut + played Left 4 Dead @

Lynn Xiao Mei stayed overnight at my house to finish up her holiday homework. She have so many last minute homeworks undone and she doesn't seems very anxious about them until the very last minute. Finally I see her trying hard to finish up her homeworka. One thing I must confess, I think I've returned 80% of what I've learnt back to my primary school teachers already. =( I see her maths mock test, I really don't know how to solve! I was just as clueless as her as to the questions. Lucky bf came during evening to enlighten both of us. Then I will go "Oh Oh ya hor, so easy." Haha. Especially hate those X, Y, Z questions. Ask you to find X, find Y, find Z. Hate it.

After that, bf and I went to Clemeneti Central to look for his friend. It's his friend Yc's birthday and he's giving a treat to us. 5 guys plus me 1 gal, we had pizza hut and when 5 guys came together what do you think they will suggest to do? Played games lo. They suggested playing Left 4 Dead at ALoha Cybercafe @ West Coast. So we walked there.

My first time going to a cybercafe and playing this type of shooting game. So in the game, I was quite confused with the direction and bf always have to tell me which direction to go, then after a few round okay le. It's a game that requires lots of teamwork and cooperation. Bf says I always walk too slow and never follow them and wonders off so I get killed easily. Lucky they were around to revive me most of the time. We were dicided to 3 VS 3 team. So one round we played survivor, the next we changed to zombie and we had to kill the enemy team. I like playing the zombies and they are not scary looking one. There's the smoker with long tongue, too Boomer that punks slimy stuff out, the hunter that pounce on the survivors, tank which is most powerful and difficult to kill and the witch. I don't know what the witch does, I think I did not transform into a witch after so many round. It's a ramdom thing. Quite a cool game which I starts to enjoy playing but after a few round they change to play CS le. This one I didn't play so I just surf net.

CLEO HOTTEST Beach Party @ Cafe Del Mar, Siloso Beach Sentosa

Another Saturday on leave, another day out having fun! Attracted by all the FREE and FREE goodies, round up my friends and together dressed in pink we went to the CLEO HOTTEST Beach Party @ Sentosa Siloso Beach! My cousin also decided to join in the fun since it's her last two days before school reopens.

Well prepared with my favourite Hello Kitty portable radio which sadly didn't even come close to any good use (except over here while queueing for our Sentosa tickets and trying to show off abit =P Hehe) since the music over there is blasting out at high volume.

Source from: http://www.sentosa.com.sg/useful_info/getting_around.html

As you see there's so many modes of transports to get round Sentosa. Last time we used to walk in as we thought we need to pay. Went to our destination - Siloso Beach via The Sentosa Bus.

And here's a very well taken pic of Lis and Ling but what's with the guy behind? -_-"

The moment we alight from the bus, we were already greeted by the BIG and STRIKING PINK CLEO banner!!! How can anyone missed this place with the banner being so big? Collected our goodie bag, oh wait it's not even a bag, just some loose items consisting of a CLEO magazine, some vouchers, perfumes samples and a necklace. There's also a different set for guys!

We took a while to settle down and find a good spot to put down our heavy barang barangs and when we finally did, we were given a menu for us to order finger food or wines. Not that we don't want to, but we just had a heavy lunch at Vivo before coming down. Either Ling or Lis suggest to buy one drink and we share among but we didn't.

FYI, if we were to order up to $100 of wines or drinks, we would be able to enjoyed like those in the photos below. They have a wine bar out there in the pool and they can reserved a double bed out there in the sand and under the sun! Good for sun-tanning! Most of the beds are already occupied by the rich ang mos anyway but the photos below don't look like they are taken from Sentosa right? It's like some overseas resort. Not sure if it's the same set up on normal days or it's done up like this just for the CLEO event. The photos all so nice lor. Thanks Lis once again for the photos.

.......................................................................................................................

Since we didn't ordered any drinks and couldn't get the VIP treatment outside, we head in to the inside of Cafe Del Mar again for some free activities. Tried on airbrush tattooing. CoOl~ I was the last one to get the tattoo on and mine seems to take forever for the colour to darken. Boo. Lynn was afraid the tattoo won't come off when school starts so she choose a small butterfly to be tattooed on her wrist. Just so that she can wear a watch to cover it. Haha.

Next up is Tarot Card Reading! :D

Tell you, it's freaky accurate! Look at our expression and you will know. Ling was so shocked that she's laughing madly. Lis was concentrating on the advice given. Lynn and I only get our back view so you cannot see our expression but we were nodding and agreeing to what the fortune teller told us lo. We were first given an analyse on our charecter just by calculating the numbers in our birthdates before we went into asking questions and getting answers and advice from the tarrot cards. Lynn asked about her PSLE and the rest of us all enquired about our work life and love life.

1. Lynn: Very smart but don't know how to focus on her studies. Like when she's doing maths homework, she'll think of Science. Only opens up to people who are closed to her like her family and closed friends. She will met with a lot of people who would be helping her like her teachers. So she should be able to pass her PSLE and maybe might get into a girls school. LOL.

2. Jas: Number 1 person. Smart like Lynn. Independent and have strong opinion on things. a very practical person so will always choose those safe jobs like accounts, admin, etc. (Can hear the gals laughing out loud behind when they hear this lo, cause like so true hor?) Quiet and mysterious. For the tarrots card reading results, both my work life and love life don't seems too good. =( Sigh. Best advice is not to get married before 28 years old and that I should change job within this year. BOO.

3. Lis: Romantic, artistic and dramatic person and sometime a perfectionist who can be quite picky. For work wise, she gets along well with her colleagues and her boss thinks high on her too so this might cause another to be jealous or her. She might find the jobs boring cause jobs suitable for her are not this back end type, she should be in jobs which allows her to meet client as her clients would be loyal to her and she is one who would treat clients with great care de.

4. Ling: Can get married anytime! *LOL. Might encoutered heavier workload due to changes in company but it will all turns out favourable to her. She will owns her own property and went into business in her late forties but she should only went into partnership with her spouse and not other people. Can predict so far ahead for her.

In conclusion, I think mine prediction has nothing good at all. So sian. Don't know whether to fully believe it or not.

.............................................................................................................

After the tarrot card reading, we finally went out to the sun, the sand and the sea!

Played a few rounds of beach ball and went to sun tanned. Lynn was enjoying her sand spa.

This nice photo will conclude and end my enjoyable day at Sentosa!

I hope to get a better tanned the next time I go. ;)

BBDC - 2 hours watching the bikers go round and round the circuit

Hello! This is bf. He is there to take his bike test and I am there to "ZUO BO". No la, my job is to wait for him to finished his two hours practical bike test and give him some moral supports.

As you can see, it's not easy to learn a bike one okay? There's so many stages to go through. Every stage you will wear a different colour vest with a different number behind your back. The colours are all quite luminous so that the instructor can see the riders. The instructors will used a loud speaker and shout out one lo. Like, he will say, "number 2, on the left signal." I think it's quite stressful leh. Imagine, you are trying very hard to concentrate on riding the bike liao, then behind keep got someone shouting, then you still have to listen to see whether it's your number or not.

Bf is currently at stage 2.02 only. Quite a long way to go. Hope he don't give up!

This is the begainners stage. Haha. Like a mini racing ground. All they do is ride round and round. After watching them fo so long, I learnt that one should use the left foot to stop. Never the right foot hor. Then also watch them balancing on the bike. Interesting.

A very blurred photo. I thought bf was good, but he failed. Sigh. Two person failed.

A tribute to Michael Jackson : R.I.P, you'll always be remembered.

Listened to the morning FM on the way to work and gotten this shocking news that Michael Jackson has passed away yesterday. This news really gets everyone talking about beside the dreading H1N1 virus. Passed away at only 50 years old due to cardiac attack. I believed he still have lots of unfinished dreams yet to fulfill. Like his upcoming fifty world tour concert which will never come true.

However, he was already the legendary pop king. I'm sure most of us would have known or heard of his songs. His most popular songs like Thriller, Beat it, You are not alone, Heal the world are so well known that I think these songs will be passed on generation by generations. His trademark sleek dance move - Moonwalk. He created that dance move himself.

I've added "you are not alone" to my play list. It's the first song playing.

Also, below is a video of his moonwalk dance. Not chance to see him performing in concerts but there's still the videos.

North Borders @ Rochester Park

Celebrating our 2 years ++ of being together, we decided to have dinner at Rochester Park. It's quite a remote place and instead of taking a bus in, we walked from Buona Viasta MRT station. Before we get to the eating place, we still have to climb a flight of stairs. Great exercising before having a meal.

Our eating venue is at No 2. North Border Bar And Grill. Luckily, because the small the number, the less you have to walk in.

Being a part time waiter before, bf knows the technique to fold a napkin into a crane and a flower. Hehe. Nice hor?

Bf's Carbonara Pasta

Mine is Sizzling Hotplate Fajitas. It's a Tortilla wraps with Monterey Jack cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa & mixed greens and a choice of either:

Beef Tenderloin
Leg Of Chicken
Kurobuta Pork Loin
Prawns

I choosed Leg Of Chicken. LOL. I was quite dumb, I thought the leg of chicken might include chicken feet which I don't eat but turned out is just the meat only la. Heng.

The food is sizzling hot.

We have a complimentary Warm Bittersweet Mexican Chocolate Torte. The restaurant's best seller. Served with summer berries compote & vanilla ice cream. We actually waited quite long for this dish. Think 20 minutes to prepare it but it's so worth the wait. The warm chocolate flowing out like lava when you cut open the cake + the cold vanilla ice-cream. Really hard to resist. Fought with my bf over this cause it's such a small piece only and if we were to buy another piece, it would cost $11!

Dessert makes me happy~

Satisfied after the meal.

Haha, before we left.

This photo looks fake, but it's the only one with the signboard.

Dinner @ Seoul Garden Ngee Ann City

Went to Seoul Garden for dinner. The last I went was during my school days. I remembered we would went to the Jurong Point outlet after school. That's years ago. Just nice, I have a birthday voucher 1-for-1 buffet dinner so decided to go and see how is it like now. Total bills comes up to $32.90. Wah! I don't think last time it cost so much leh. I think last time only $18++ Prices went up by that much? Or now they are targetting more working adults category?! Or do they think students now gets more money from parents? Boo. Anyway, like all other steamboat cum grilled restaurant, there's the mixture of meat and vegetables. However, I do think Seoul Garden offers more variety of meat. There's tarriyaki chicken, Si Chuan Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Char Siew Chicken, Curry Chicken, beef, mutton, etc etc. (but actually the chicken only have two different taste, can't differentiate the rest.)

The other Special dish that I like here is we can create our own ICE KACHANG. To get the shaved ice, they have a machine to crush the ice-cubes. We can also choose our own based, those that you don't like you don't have to add! :D I put in a lot of the Chendol Jellies (what I felt looks like green worms), Coconut Nata, Grass Jellies, Mini pearl, red adzuki beans and lots of sweetened condensed milk. usually, it should be 3 colours, Pink, Green and Brown, but I only put PINK colours. Hahaha. Bring it back to taste but felt that it's not sweet enough. For a while, couldn't find out what else I didn't add in, then we realised I haven't add in the Palm sugar syrup. Went back to add in somemore and this time it's perfect.

Wahaha. Enjoyed making the Ice-Kachang, I think next time if out of job, I can go sell dessert le. Hehehe.

Lynn Xiao Mei House + Drag Me to Hell

Mmm. Went to Lynn Xiao Mei there and I was treated like a VIP. I was there quite early in the morning, so I continued to sleep there. So nice her room is air-conditioned. :D While I was sleeping, she went out to buy ingredients cause she'll be cooking lunch for me later on. We make a pact since last week about this. Of course, I didn't let her do everything. I did helped her to prepare the ingredients like washing the vegetables, cutting the fish cakes and fish balls. Wahaha. This time round the taste is much better then the first attempt. The first attempt Lynn tried to cook mee sua, she put in the mee sua in the soup first and thus the mee sua have absorbed too much soup and become quite soft.

After eating we went to Jurong Point to watch "Drag Me to Hell". OMG, it's really deserve an award of being the best horror movie of the year. This movie is the movie that Lis keep telling me the synopsis and even Lynn Xiao Mei wanted to watch a second time! It's full of twists and turns and had a decent ending.

Brief plot of the movie

Christine Brown a loan officer at a bank is eyeing the postition of an assistant manager. She had a colleague called Stu who is also eyeing on the same position. Her boss Mr Jacks advise her that she need to be able to make tough decision before she can even think about the position. One day Mrs Ganush came to Christine for an extension of her house mortgage. To prove herself to her boss that she can make tough decision, she decided to decline Mrs Ganush. Mrs Ganush is not satisfied with the answer and continued to beg her. In a panic, Christine shoved her to the floor, shaming her in public.

That night, Mrs Ganush waited for Christine at the car park and attacked her. In the end, Mrs Ganush tore off a button of Christine's coat and started to place a curse on the button. The next few days, Christine met with a lots of unfortunate events caused by the evil spirit. She went to a fortune teller and found out the evil spirit is called Lamia. They tried all means to get rid of the evil spirit, like killing the kitty thinking that the kitty's blood would be a gift to the Lamia, but it didn't worked. In the end, her boyfriend paid $10,000 to enlist the help of San Dena to rid the Lamia but turned out the plan backfired. San Dena managed to chase the Lamia away and died in the process but the fortune teller told Christine that the Lamia is still around and she only have one day to break the curse and that is to give the cursed button to another person but that other person will get the curse. So they put the button into a white envelop. Christine have a very good heart and didn't want to harm the rest, she didn't know who to give the button to, at the last resort, she gave the button back to Mrs Ganush. Mrs Ganush is already dead and she went to the cementry to dig out the grave.

The next day, everything seems to go on smoothly. Her promotion seems certain and she went to the train station to meet her boyfriend who is planning to propose to her. Who knows, her boyfriend took out a white envelop with the cursed button inside. Christine was shocked, the envelop she shoved down Mrs Ganush throat was the one with the rare coin she gave to her boy friend and not the cursed button!!! Then she went "OMG, OMG, OMG" and falls off the track as a train is approching. Just before she get hits, the ground opens and demonic arms pull her down into Hell. Her boyfriend could only watch in tearful eyes and in horror.

After the movie we keep discussing, Lynn Xiao Mei say if she's Christine she would go and kill herself first. Haha. Then we all felt that it's so sad that Christine died in the end.
PS: Being Curious, did a search on Lamia to see whether this evil sprit really exist and found the following explanation:

"The ancient Greeks believed that the Lamia was a vampire who stole little children to drink their blood. She was portrayed as a snake-like creature with a female head and breasts. Usually female, but sometimes referred to as a male or a hermaphrodite.

According to legend, she was once a Libyan queen (or princess) who fell in love with Zeus. Zeus' jealous wife Heradeformed her into a monster and murdered their offspring. She also made Lamia unable to close her eyes, so that she couldn't find any rest from the obsessing image of her dead children. When Zeus saw what had be done to Lamia, he felt pity for her and gave his former lover a gift: she could remove her eyes, and then put them on again. This way, though sleepless, she could rest from her misfortune. Lamia envied the other mothers and took her vengeance by stealing their children and devouring them.

In Lamia and other Poems (1820), the English poet John Keats writes about Lamia too. In this version, based on the information he found in Anatomy of Melancholy of the 1600s, Lamia has the ability to change herself into a beautiful young woman. Here she assumes a human form to win a man's love."

Went to pledge for some Water Conservation thingey and gotten the above. The rest of the day, helped Lynn to set up blog and listen to music. Her favourite singer currently is Lady Gaga and she knows the whole lyrics of Taylor Swift - Love Story. I think she's amazing! Haha.
