[EVENT] Carousell 'All-You-Can-Stuff' Charity Clothes Buffet at The Centrepoint

In partnership with Frasers shopping malls, Carousell has recently launch something new known as the trusted meet-up spots. These are dedicated meet-up spots, conveniently located within the Frasers shopping malls making it safer and easier to buy, sell and connect with other users on the Singapore's biggest mobile classified marketplace platform. Being an avid Carousell user, I am in full support of this launch as I always prefer to complete my deals via meet-ups.

 

To kick-start the launch, a series of family-friendly events and treats will be organized within the next three months, starting with the Carousell Clothes Buffet happening at The Centrepoint this month. I decided to seize this chance to declutter and revamp my wardrobe by donating the clothes that I do not wear anymore to someone who might find it a treasure. 

Collection for clothes donation begins from 23 to 27 April and I went down on both Thursday and Friday to drop off my clothes. In total, I donated 31 lightly-worn pieces of clothing and actually I still have some more that I do not have the time to go through.

I went back again today for the actual Carousell clothes buffet happening over the weekend featuring an 'All-You-Can-Stuff' fundraising charity drive. The more clothes donated, the cheaper the buffet bag will be. Based on the number of clothes I donated, I am entitled to the highest 15% discount to buy the buffet bag. The normal ziplock buffet bag ranges from $5 to $15 depending on their size. There is also the premium buffet bag which seems to be able to hold more clothes than the ziplock bags. I choose to get the premium buffet bag at $17 after discount.

Everything I manage to stuff in the bag is mine to keep. It's a great way to add new styles and to know that all proceeds collected from the sales of buffet bags and remaining clothes will be donated to the charity.

These are the clothes that I managed to stuff from the clothes buffet. All of them seems fairly new to me and I can't wait to try them on after washing.

[EVENT] Carousell CNY Community Meetup

Carousell held its first meet up with the Singapore community users at The Co., 75 High Street. If you have not heard of Carousell, it's a simple-to-use app that enables users to buy and sell items through the app in split seconds. Definitely a great way to clear the clutter as well as to find great deals. 

I joined Carousell on 19th April 2014 and the first item I sold was a Hello Kitty iPhone 4 casing for $5. Before that, I was selling on eBay. So far, the selling experience at Carousell was great. I love meeting up with buyers and knowing that the things that has got no use to me anymore is of value to others. Out of all the meets up, I've only had one bad experience with a buyer who have agreed on meeting up twice but didn't turned up in the end.

My mum is a big help to me too when it comes to meeting up with buyers as sometimes the arranged timing may clash with my working hours.

Beside the positive feedback I received, sometimes the nice personal messages also made me feel very happy and encouraged. I'm not an active buyer inside though, so far I've only bought some craft items and admission ticket only.

Dinner served from Godfather's Pizza by Foodpanda, the friendly staff from Carousell came over to mingle with us. After eating, we moved to the seats in front and listened to how Carousell was founded by the founder himself.

We also played a fun game which requires us to mingle around to find the right person for each description given. 

Enjoyed the photo booth and made new friends on Carousell. Being a Carousell event, first thing usually people asked was what did you sell on Carousell? My reply to them was anything, except those prohibited items.

Before we left, was glad to be able to have a photo taken with one of the founders, Marcus. Looking forward to more such gatherings and meet up.
