Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practices that aims to transform the mind and body. Prior to this event, I've tried a few sessions of Hot Yoga before but wasn't persistent in going back. Upon leaning that intheLoop, Singapore's first health and wellness digital magazine and online portal is organizing SOULSCAPE, its inaugural Yoga & Fitness Festival, I knew I have to give it a try.
My special pass was mailed to me and this allows me access to the Media Launch Party before the actual event started on the same day. I also received my Sentosa Islander card around the same timing.
The event was held at Sentosa's Tanjong Beach Club, amidst the lush tropical surroundings this year. Love this two group photos taken with my friends.
We were introduced to intheLoop, an online portal to connect and engage the local health and wellness community. The team behind intheLoop are actually instructors, health enthusiasts and fitness fanatics and they came together with a dream to educate, connect and drive conversation between like-minded people. Visit www.intheloop.com.sg to check out their website.
A lifestyle and wellness market was set up on the beach featuring products such as organic foods and cold pressed juice, handicrafts, yoga accessories, alternative healing services, UV body painting and temporary tattoos. All these are in line with promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Thank you Paradigm Wellness for the toe slippers. They organised classes known as Yamuna® Body Rolling with the primary objective of improving the quality of the body and prevent its breakdown. In the class, you will get to learn how to use the Yamuna® balls to locate and work all the muscles of your legs, anterior torso, and posterior torso.
Slacklining is one of the free activity that is subjected to availability upon registration. It is a balancing activity with a suspended stretch of nylon/polyester tied between two points. One can then exercise their balancing skill for activities such as walking, executing tricks and doing yoga poses (Yogalining) on it. A great mental and physical challenge indeed.
Hula Hoop is a fun way to trim the waistline. I'm sure most of us have tried Hula Hoop during our school days. My school even have Hula Hoop competition last time.
Mutual trust and support required if you are doing it with somebody else.
CF and I went to have our arms painted with the UV paints before the main program starts. My sun nice right? My caption for the sun is that even though the sun is going to set soon, I still have a sun on my arm!
Finally, we were asked to set up our Yoga Mat on the sandy beach. The first main program, Sunset Yoga is starting, so let me take a selfie!
The duration for Sunset Yoga is 60 minutes and it's perfect for beginners like me. It was really nice to immerse myself under the beautiful sunset, doing Yoga. Time to reconnect with nature.
Spot the beautiful sunset!
Night performance before the second main program starts.
Time to get ready our glowsticks as Night Yoga Rave begins! I didn't take part in this as I was really tired being out and about the whole day.
Night Yoga Rave is a dynamic 90 minutes flow session under the moonlight with glowsticks and fire torches by the side. This is the highlight of the evening which eventually ends as a spirited dance session.
With CK and CF. We can't wait to get some food, so we bought truffle fries to share. Love our colourful glowsticks too!
Thanks for the invite to SOULSCAPE 2014. It's an unforgettable experience and I look forward to SOULSCAPE 2015, by then I should be even better prepared.
