Wait! My post is not finished yet. The last two days of Chinese New Year visitations sees me going to at least 9 different houses to collect red packets. It was tiring but I enjoyed house-hopping to visit my relatives, some of whom I've only got to meet once a year as well as eating all the Chinese New Year goodies and not forgetting receiving red packets.
The only challenge this year is when relatives pop some awkward questions, which I always have to prepare myself in advance and think of a witty reply to that.
Grandma: "Ah Lxxx, you seems to have gained weight hor?"
Me: "Ya, I have to eat more in order to have the strength to exercise."
Nah, actually I didn't reply like that. Maybe to other people I can but not to my grandma la. So I just agreed with her that I've put on weight.
Last year, I've came up with a blogpost of 8 different response to this very sensitive question, "When are you getting married?" Read it here.
Seriously the questions are never ending. If you are still a students, they will ask for your results. If you are working, they will ask about your salary. If you are single, they will ask why you are not getting a bf/gf. If you are in a r/s, they will ask when are you getting married. If you are married, they will ask when are you getting a kid. When you have a kid, they will ask which school your kid goes to and the list can go on and on. Overly concerned or is that a sign of a competitive society?
Luckily, this year, Heaven and Earth® has identified the most commonly asked questions during Chinese New Year and came up with an interactive Facebook app, #CalmComebacks that provides practical comebacks and instant responses to those awkward questions.
The most commonly asked questions are grouped into six different categories.
Click on any of the category that suits you current circumstances and there would be 5 different witty/naughty/nice responses for you to pick.
Alternatively, you can also try asking a specific question that you encountered under the instant response section.
Ok, I've got a smart and nice answer to tackle this question. Nice one.
#CalmComebacks video : 14 ways to survive CNY by Night Owl Cinematics. Can you identify yourself in these situations? Watch the video and learn from the experts now.
So Stay Calm and Keep Going. Cheers with a can of Heaven and Earth® drink. Don't forget to join the contest to win!
