SAFRA MovieMax : Invitation to the screening of Iron Man 3

The last we saw Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) on the big screen was just last year when he was teamed up with the rest of the Avengers to save the Earth from disaster  Now he's back again for Iron Man 3! 

Robert Downey Jr. continues to take up the role of Iron Man which he is best suited to be. His humour is razor-sharp and straight to the point allowing him display his usual cocky charm. It makes this character a totally lovable jerk. In fact, if someone else were to take up the Iron Man role, I might not be that enthusiastic to watch it anymore. 

In this movie, we see Tony Stark showing more of his sensitive side as he reveals to Pepper Potts how she is his number 1 priority. Awww~ 

"The only reason I haven't cracked up is probably because you moved in, which is great. I love you. I'm lucky. But honey I can't sleep. You go to bed and I come down here, I do what I know, I tinker. Threat is imminent and I have to protect the one thing I can't live without. That's you." Tony Stark to Pepper. 

Yes, Pepper Potts was extremely awesome in Iron Man 3. She is really the woman behind every successful man, always standing up to Tony Stark. In this movie, she donned on the Iron Man armor  gets infected with the Extremis virus, gets physical and came to the rescue when Stark was in a near life and death circumstances with Aldrich Killian. Super cool, I tell you. She's a heroine and deserves a big credit.

Since the movie is still showing in cinemas, I shall not be too much of a spoiler here but this movie is a must-watch. Meanwhile, have a good laugh over the trailer, the Thai style. Lolol~

Ordered the Hot Chocolate to warm up my stomach. Didn't have any breakfast before attending this event. Was really happy that it comes with some mini marshmallows. I don't know why when I made hot chocolate with marshmallows at home, the marshmallows always dissolves into the hot chocolate before I can even take a nice picture.    

My brunch consist of Berry Bircher (Green apple, oat meal, black raisins, sour cream, summer berries and almond flakes), Fine Palate Cook Up (Two eggs any style, streaky bacon, English pork sausage, mushrooms, vine cherry tomatoes, harsh brown and toast) and cake. Got to take home a box of the famous LADUREE macaron too.

Preview of LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TV Showcase

With the introduction of various Smart TVs in the market, gone are the days when TVs are purely just for watching TV shows. Similar to how the internet, web widgets and software applications are integrated in our modern smartphones, smart TV is the latest electronic appliances that I'm sure can be found in most household in the near future. 

I was very much excited when I received the invitation from LG Singapore to be one of the first few to preview the latest 2013 line-up of LG Cinema 3D Smart TVs and to discover some of the amazing features of these TVs.  

The event was held at The P' Club Group Exclusive Showroom, with furniture by Christopher Guy ('Creators of the most fabulous lifestyles'™) that makes us feels like we've just stepped into somebody's house. 

At Level 29 of High Street Centre, we have the best view of the area and our iconic MBS. Took a lot of photos before the presentation starts. 

Let's take a look at this LA8600 model. Smart features, sharp picture quality and sleek design is what it's all about for today's sophisticated consumers. The LG's slim depth and narrow bezel design brings the space between the screen and bezel to the minimum. The magic swivel makes turning the TV set so smooth and easy. What's more, it creates the impression that the TV is floating in mid-air!

What's in his hand is LG's smart magic remote control. This unique looking LG Magic Remote optimizes content and menu navigation, allowing interaction to be as simple and intuitive as possible. 

Magic Remote (Gesture). One can change the TV channels by moving the Magic Remote to write out the channel numbers. A tick gesture is to open the menu and a straight line is to go back to the previous channel.  

Magic Remote (Voice Search). After pressing the voice search button on the Magic Remote, speak into the microphone of the Magic Remote and the TV screen will show a list of results by categories. The result will be displayed at the bottom half of the screen so one can still watch the TV show. We tried this function but seems like the TV couldn't really detect what we are saying. Even the results in the similar list doesn't match what we want to find. 

Motion Control. If the Magic Remote cannot be found or if one is simply too lazy to get up to get the magic remote, one can use their bare hand for basic control function. The basic control function includes change of volume, channel and power off. 

TV Remote App. User can download the LG TV Remote App onto the smartphone. Once the app is launch, the smartphone turns into the Magic Remote to control the TV. 

LG TV Tag On (NFC) I think this is the breakthrough of technology. With this sticker stick on a convenient place and the Android smartphone place on the NFC sticker, the TV content will appear on the smartphone for viewing. Only drawback, not yet available on iPhone as iPhone doesn't support NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.  

Entertainment Content: 3D World, K-Pop Zone, Game World, LG Smart World. K-Pop fans will love this K-Pop Zone channel that allows users to watch K-Pop celebrity interviews and music videos, many of which are exclusive to LG's K-Pop Zone. 

Time Machine II. The newly updated version of the LG's Time Machine feature is most amazing. TV programs can be recorded and saved onto the TV built-in memory. While you are watching channel 5, you can set the TV to record channel 8 at the same time! User can also schedule to record a program even when the TV is not switched on. 

Duel Play. A function for the gamers. When playing multiplayer games, normal conventional TV will show split screen for different players but not with LG's Dual Play function. With this function on, players can view independent full screen view through their LG Dual Play glasses. If you see the screen, it actually shows a shadow of the red car behind the yellow car. This is the image display without the glasses on but once you wear the glasses, player one will see the red car on screen and player two will see the yellow car on screen. Very impressive!! Oh ya, the TV can even convert 2D shows/photos to 3D! If a particular person do not wish to watch the TV in 3D, just get them to wear the orange glasses and the show will turn back to 2D. 

LG Ultra HDTV. The World's first 84 inch Ultra HD TV!!! So big!!!

Treated to some light refreshment and a frozen burger in the fridge. Thanks LG Singapore once again. 

Day-dreaming that if I have this LG smart TV at home, I think I would jolly well just stay at home the whole day glued to the TV. Like A Queen!

The V 10 Plus Hyaluronic Acid Serum (30 ml). This is the No. 1 best seller moisturizer which deeply hydrates and firms the skin. The price is rather steep but I think that anything that is good for our skin is worth investing the money on.  

It contains sodium hyaluronate, lysolecithin (phosphatide), which is the main component of the cell membrane and so speeds up the penetration into the skin. It can hold 6 liters of water per 1 gram and it works to keep water in the skin. 

It is good for dry skin and inner dry. It has a high reputation of permeability.

Tommy Hilfiger Opening Show at the VivoCity Fashion Festival

It's the season of Spring and that calls for a new set of clothes for the wardrobe. Actually it's just another reason to buy new clothes and VivoCity is a great place to uncover the latest fashion trends.  

VivoCity also organised a series of spectacular runway shows and Jess brought me to the opening show at the VivoCity Amphitheatre by Tommy Hilfiger.

The exciting new collection from Tommy Hilfiger features lots of stripes, nautical niceties, bold patterns, exotic prints in a unique blend of colours fabric and textures. Stripes are good. It is said that horizontal stripes can create volume and make a slim person looks not too slim. My favourite strips is the black and white stripes (Zebra). Will never go wrong in that. 

The models last catwalk before the fashion show ends. It was really a night of eyes feasting from all the cool and stylish clothing put up by the models from Tommy Hilfiger! 

After the fashion show, we went back inside for a private event. It's part of the activities and they've invited up-and-coming stylist Peggy Chang to provide some styling tips for the seasons with the different models. 

Known more commonly online as Sixpegs. Never knew that a suit jacket can match with a shorts like that. How do you find this look?

Another look is this male model in a dip-dye shirt. As local guys are not too daring to wear pink or bold bright colours, this dip-dye shirt fades off from pink to blue which looks quite nice for guys actually. 

Ending my post with two nice group photos of us at the Tommy Hilfiger backdrop which I've already kept in my photo album. I'm learning to create my own fashion sense too.
