Cafe Asia 2013 : International Coffee & Tea Industry Expo 2013

Cafe Asia 2013 and the International Coffee & Tea Industry Expo 2013 is Southeast Asia's first and largest trade and consumer event, gathering the tea and coffee industries in the region. A total of 95 exhibitors from 22 countries came together to tap into Asia's huge market potential during the 3 days of exhibition at Marina Bay Sands, Sands Expo and Convention Centre. I'm glad to have Windy, a tea lover to accompany me for this event.

My first cup of cafe latte is from Toby's Estate, a pretty renowned coffee chain from Australia. Love the beautiful latte art and love it even more after the first sip. The latte was rich and smooth with a mild sweetness from the milk.

My second cup of cappuccino was from TransZ Coffee. TransZ Coffee is a Singapore based company established in 2006 with a main goal in providing equipment as well as unparalleled technical support to their client whenever they needed it. They proved to be a well-rounder company to come up with a total solutions scheme consisting of four solutions to their clients: beverage, equipment, servicing and training.

The range of products that they carry will provide clients with the ability in creating signature beverages for their menu.

With the beverages all settled, finding practical equipment is the next step. The range of equipment they brought in will provide the most efficient and premium quality production. They are also the proud sole distributor for La Pavoni Coffee Machines in Singapore.

When there is any cases of machines breakdown, the Company even provide a 24/7 hotline for client to call and seek for help. Their resourceful and experienced technicians will be able to resolve the problem on a case by case basis. Understanding that the downtime of a machine during operation hours will be a costly damage which is why their warehouse is well stocked with standby machine to tide through the inevitable time while they do the servicing

With the right beverages and equipment, that left training the employees to meet to the standard. Fortunately, they also provide training course to ensure that the staff will be at their fullest potential at the end of the training.

There's also a bimonthly magazine for coffee, tea and ice-cream lovers. The magazine not only features cafes in Singapore but also around the World as well as news, latest products etc. Would like to thanks Jolin for her time to sit down with us and introduced TransZ Coffee to us.

Stopped by the booth of Fong Yit, kaya specialist since 1945 and tried their durian kaya. Impressive. Their kaya comes in 6 different flavours: Pandan, Caramel, Red Sugar, Durian, XO Original and Honey. Later, I found out that my home is using this brand of Kaya too. My mum says it's not too sweet but still maintain that exquisite taste.

Next, we walked on to find that we were just in time for a cooking demo by celebrity chef, Mr Eric Teo.

He's cooking the mango and using products from IPPIN, Japan Product Center. It's an innovative wholesale concept store offering imported Japanese products like healthy baby foods, Japanese Cosmetics, Premium Green Tea and more.

Sampling of one of the can product. Taste somewhat like tuna fish but it's not. Can't remember the name of this product but I'm quite interested to buy since it's convenient, just open up the can and eat it with crackers or porridge.

The next booth for all coffee lovers is the Juan Valdez booth. Juan Valdez is a World famous coffee brand, and it is making its entry into the Asia Coffee market. The coffee beans are only grown, harvested and roasted in Colombia. Juan Valdez is fully imported, 100% Colombian coffee, direct from the Colombian Mountains.

A cup of freshly made coffee from whole beans can helps to start the day right. I'm quite impressed by their organic products too. I personally tried the Organico (Environmentally) which really has a strong bitter coffee taste. The coffee beans are grown and produced without chemicals and is cerified 100% organic by two international agencies: BCS and USDA.

Thanks Kim for the sharing.

The next booth we dropped by is Chaitime. Chaitime is Singapore's first authentic chai cafe. Since 1897, they've been an integral part of Indian Chai tradition. Simply love their exclusive boxes.

The Spicy masala chai is a lively blend of Assam black tea with cardamom, ginger, black pepper and cinnamon, which originated in the North West state of Gujarat in India.

Next up is the booth whereby we stayed on the longest. It's Tea Ideas Pte. Ltd. an exclusive business partner and importer for Premier's (The Passion of Purity).

It was truly an eye opener as we witness this new product, a tea stick that is actually an infuser that acts as a stirrer and strainer at the same time. It is designed to brew tea leaves directly in a cup without the need for teapots. This is the first-of-its-kind in Singapore and it brings convenience to the consumers too. Another interesting fact about this tea infuser is that it does not drip when it's held horizontally. Tested and proven. Unlike if you use a spoon to stir, when you lift the spoon up, there will still be some tea on the spoon. This reduces the mess caused. The teas are totally free from impurity and foreigner materials.

Totally loves their packaging. No wonder even hotels are approaching them for tie-ups opportunities. I'm really looking forward to visit their tea boutique when it's open in Singapore. Love their Chocolate Tea.

Thanks Albert and Jacinta for taking the time to introduce this new concept to us and the wonderful packets of samples. Smell nice.

Hario is the next booth we went to. It's a range of machines that looks as if they are part of the Science Lab.

I bought 3 bottles of Kaya from Sing Kee Kaya as they are selling at 3 bottles for $10. One bottle is premium Kaya while the other two comes in the form of individual packets which is the first time I seen. Like the chili sauces fast food restaurants uses.

Lastly, big thanks to Yu Fan for the invitation and also bringing me around the different booths and introducing me as a blogger to them. It was truly a great experience which I didn't expect. Thought it was just a sampling of coffee and teas session but ended up I see and learn more from the people there after talking to them.
