SingPost Carnival + ICB Fashion Show + Merlion 40th Birthday

While waiting for the Fashion Show at ICB to start, my friends and I decided to head down to the SingPost Carnival 2012 held at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza to take a look. At this exhibition, we see how SingPost constantly improved on its services over the past 150 years. Like now they roll out a new parcel locker stations service that allow customers to send and pick up their parcels 24/7!

The friendly mailbox with Jessie trying to "post a letter" Hahaha!

Speedpost send your parcel worldwide with online tracking!

Next, we tested our skill to be a SingPost staff by playing this simple yet challenging Speedpost game called "Scan & Win". In this game, we have to scan the barcode of the consignment notes on the 15 boxes. If the scanning time is 20 seconds or less, the prize is one teddy bear but if we took more than 20 seconds, we will get a water bottle. I don't know about you but water bottle seems more practical right? Anyway, all of us won the water bottle. Somehow, the scanner is quite hard to use. Even though I point it correctly at the barcode, it just won't scan.

A group photo of us at the Post-a-Card booth. This Post-a-card is actually a mobile app for iPhone and android users that let you turn your memories into real postcards and send them all from the mobile phone!!! Amazing right?

For more about this Post-a-card app, visit

Thank you SingPost for this bottle of candies. Thank you to the hardworking postman who helped us to deliver our mails, whether rain or shine!

After the SingPost Carnival, we made our way to iCB Fall/Winter fashion show.

Love colourful macrons!

This collage sums up the Prabal Gurung designed collections that debut at Japanese High Street Brand - ICB. This series of collection looks unique and trendy. Some of the interesting designs are in the form of dip-dying and laser cutting. This is affordable luxury.

Thanks iCB for the little goodies. Hmm, I didn't use the S$200 voucher as need to spend $600 before can use it. Haha.

Strolled along Orchard Road and we ended up penning well wishes for the Merlion! Lolol~ It's the Merlion 40th Birthday. Happy birthday!

Before we call it off a day, we received a Fancl handfan to be presented a their shop for a sure win lucky dip. They are now open at Ion Orchard by the way. Was given an analysis of our skin and my skin is great according to their app. No maintain equals well-maintain. Haha. Received a $5 vouchers from them! Thanks!

Wallis Autumn/Winter Style Talk 2012

Founded in 1923, Wallis is the shop to visit for premium women's clothing. Stylish and sophisticated blouses, skirts, dresses, jackets and trousers are available from size 8 to 20. They even carry a line of petite clothing for women 5'3" and under.

I was invited to preview their autumn/winter collections in their shop at Paragon #03-46 and it was indeed an eye-opener.

Stylist Furqan Saini shared with us tips on the latest trends of the season. I felt that the design of this blouse looks a lot like the patterns of our thumbprints. I don't think I could carry this design as well as the model. In fact, I think this set don't suits me at all but it just look so great on the model. *ENVY*

A plain dress in gold which gives a different feeling after a jacket was put on. Nice and elegant.

Three different pretty models with three different colors and styles. I personally love the style on the left and middle model very much. Take a look at the middle model in red, the flared ruffle at the waistline of the blouse is known as the peplum (New word learnt today). Wearing a peplum adds more horizontal line across the hips area therefore shortens the legs, so one should always match this with an above-the-knee skirt and ankle boots or with trousers to create a retro hourglass glory look.

The purple series. Sometime, accessories like necklace and scarf can transform a normal dress into a party dress. So it's good to invest in many different accessories for different occasions.

Delicious canapés were served after the fashion talk.

Thanks LiS for accompany me to this event and helping me to take photos of the models when I went to the washroom. ^^v

Thanks Jessie for informing me of this event and thanks ELLE team and Wallis for the invitation and goodie bag.

Fright Fest 2012 at Singapore Flyer

OMG!!!
WHY DO ALL OF US HAVE THE TRAUMATIZED LOOK ON OUR FACES???
WHAT'S GONNA HAPPENED TO US???
Read on to find out more . . .

Fright Fest 2012 - The Undead Forest returns to the Singapore Flyer as a three week long events in October. Last year, I only get a chance to look at the creepy photos posted online but this year, thanks to Shu Qing for asking me to join her, I got to experience the walk through the award winning rainforest beneath the Singapore Flyer, which has already transformed into the undead forest with lots of horror surprises throughout. This photo was taken before we begin our adventure and that explained our traumatized expressions as we thought of what will be awaiting us inside the forest.

Had some fun at the various game booths first before our journey begins.

Managed to win this cute key-chain at the "Fishing" game booth. This is the only game booth that give out the prize even though I didn't complete the target of 5 catches on time. Those who did get to bring home two of this key-chains.

Ok, before we hop onto the Flyer, we were divided into different groups with a task to complete. Duration given will be 30 minutes which is also the time taken for the Flyer to complete one round. This task is to use any (+ , - , x , / ) to complete a given equation and the final answer have to be the unlucky number, 13! All of us started working on the equation with our phones, some try to find on google. For me, I'm bad with figures so I sent it out on Whatsapp to see if anybody can help. 5 minutes gone, 15 minutes gone, about 20 minutes later, Shu Qing broke the silence by saying that she've got the answer! She's so smart that she gotten the answer without following the given equation, but just by using the 10 random numbers. *Clap*Clap*

So, big thanks to Shu Qing for solving that difficult equation and we still have plenty of time to relax and enjoyed the night scene at the top of the flyer and not forgetting cam-whoring with friends. The first row of photos were grabbed from Hp's blog and Jessie's blog and also Shu Qing's blog. Do visit their blogs too. Hp have even created a video of this event! Pro.

Time to enter the undead forest, there's no turning back now so we have to brace ourselves to the spookiness behind that black cloth.

The bull head and horse face is what greeted us first. I think we stood there for quite awhile. Taking photos and also nobody wish to be the first to lead the group and unveil the next black cloth. The scariest part of the journey is actually when one have to lift up the black cloth at certain points cause we didn't know what to expect at the other side of the black cloth. We usually do it very carefully and try to peek over to make sure it's safe first.

A typical Chinese Alter table.

My photos were mostly under-exposed as I forget to on the flash so most of the photos taken in the forest were after edited with my iPhone. The right one was so blurred that it looked so real and scary this way. Looking at this photo just sent a shiver down my spine somehow. ~T_T~

Why so scary one??? Stay away from me please!!! I don't want to see the eyeball in your hand!!!

Gosh, although I knew that all these are actually human but I still got freaked out okay. Some of them will grab you by the legs, some of them will shout like mad, some of them will suddenly pop up next to you and stared at you.

She really looked possessed!

Last photo I took inside the forest.

After the walk in the undead forest, we were treated to some refreshments and a meet and photo taking session with the various ghosts who have scared us at the forest. According to the rest of them, this year, there's more "human" ghosts as compared to last year which uses more props.

Well, I'm just happy to survived the walk. Fortunately, we went in as a group. I can't imagine if I had to enter alone, I think I would probably screamed out lots of time. Slept extremely well that night and thanks Christina for helping me to take this photo. She came dressed up as Medusa and won the best dressed award. If next year I still get a chance to attend, I hope that I have time to dress up to the theme too! Thank you for reading!

NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® First Birthday Celebration‏ at Loola's by Awfully Chocolate

Taken from NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto Singapore Facebook page
  https://www.facebook.com/dolcegustosingapore
Time passed really fast. It seems just like a month ago whereby I attended the Let's look at COFFEE in a Totally New Way with Nescafe Dolce Gusto event but in actual fact, this event was in April. Read post here. Now, it's already September! A brand new month full of activities await. To kick off the exciting month, I went for the Nescafe Dloce Gusto 1st birthday celebration. There will be a series of special promotions and activities for all valued customers and loyal fans. This is their way of saying "Thank you" to us, the consumers for our support.

With a backdrop heading that reads "COFFEE CAN BE ART" and the whole wall full of the Nescafe Dolce Gusto capsule caps, it's no surprise that the birthday celebration was held at Loola's by Awfully Chocolate at the Esplanade Mall, a place that is casual and fun. Moreover, one can pop by the Esplanade theater to watch an Art performance anytime after the celebration.

What's a birthday celebration without a birthday cake right? So here's a nice photo of their birthday cake taken from their Facebook page which I've done some editing to it. (I can't capture a nice photo from my angle) Anyway, congrats to Nescafe Dolce Gusto for hitting their first milestone and hope they have more reasons to celebrate in the future. This cake looks  super delicious and it really is! I can say this cause everyone of us who attended the celebration got to bring home one of this cake. So, I've tried and tested. Initially we thought we would only be given a slice but no, we got the same size one to bring home!

The cake that we got to bring home is this limited edition Dark Chocolate Espresso Gateau worth S$35 that was specially created just for the celebration. It's an exclusive collaboration between Nescafe Dolce Gusto and our homegrown cake shop - Awfully Chocolate. The final creation features Awfully Chocolate's all time famous chocolate cake sandwiched between six layers of intense dark chocolate fudge! Perfect for chocolate lovers like me!  What makes this cake so special from the usual ones is the generous top layer of  smooth and aromatic Espresso mousse that is made using Nescafe Dolce Gusto very own Espresso Ristretto! Shared with my family and we finished it in just one day.

NOW, you can enjoy this limited edition Dark Chocolate Espresso Gateau too. Only limited to the first 1,000 so act fast.

Click over to their official website for some online shopping : https://www.dolce-gusto.com.sg/EN/Pages/Home.aspx

Cutting the cake!

With Mr Valerio Nannini, Managing Director of Nestle (Singapore) Pte Ltd.

Some other drinks but most of us opt for COFFEE.

The process of making the Caramel Latte Macchiato is so simple. Pop the milk capsule into the machine, adjust the green light level, next pop in the Caramel latte Macchiato capsule and viola, a cup of Caramel Latte Macchiato is ready to be served! It's really nice and has the standard that of the coffee in a coffee club. It would really be great to have this machine at home and serve your guest coffee brewed from this machine. Good news is from 1 to 30 September, with the purchase of any one Nescafe Dolce Gusto System, they will be giving away a free bubble capsules holder worth $20 at the point of purchase!

The refreshments that were served to us.

Went outside to try out luck in playing a simple yet hard to win game for a chance to spin the wheel. For this game, we have to pick a capsule from a box, and slide the capsule across the table. The hard part is the colour of the capsule that we've picked must stopped and matched the colour spot on the table. Can't remember after how many tries before I get the chance to spin the wheel.

The prize I've won from spinning the wheel. Something to clean the machine.

William and Jessie won the same prize.

Freebies inside the goodie bag.

Nice group photos with Hp, William, Jessie and Terence to end this blog post.
