Bro Tecky back from Tekong ! ! !

Bro Tecky is finally out of the Tekong Camp. Look at him now. . . So skinny and tanned. I wish I had his tanned complexion. Haha. Anyway, it's still good to be back home and he still prefer home bed to the six inch spring bed inside. LOL. See how wide his smile is. I hardly see him smile so happily. Haha. Heard from him a great deal of things inside. He told me he had no time to bath. There's two, three days whereby he have to sleep without bathing. Eww. He also stand all the way from Pasir Ris to Clementi. OMG. What rule is that? Even if there's seats they cannot sit down? Maybe they are afriad that once they sit down, they would fall asleep and might accidentally missed the chance to give up a seat to those needy and you know with the wide used of camera phones around. Those who displayed such action would get a photo shot sent in to STOMP and get instant "recognition". I dislike those people who always take photos of people sitting in trains and commenting that they did not give up their seats. What if it's the old people who rather stand? I've encountered before ok, I asked the old lady want to sit down not, she say no leh. Cause next stop is her stop ma. Then, others who didn't see would assume that I didn't give up my seat. ZZZ. So I rather take bus. Haha. Other then not enough time for bathing, they have to go through water parade - forced to drink down water to prevent heatstroke. Then bro told me he failed the Standing broad jump and pull up. :( Tough. In poly he can pass one leh. Oh ya, and for those who still think they will push those who can't swim down the swimming pool and let them to drown or to swim by themselves, you are having the old perception of army. Now, they have remedial lesson if one don't know how to swim. Special instructor would teach them step by step one. First is to learn to float and there's the positive and negative floater. So good lo. Free eat, free sleep, free swimming lesson. On rainy days, they will go for lectures. Seems fun if one's physical abilities foundation is well build up.

Bro Tecky BMT @ Tekong!!! *Excited*

Had it not been for my brother, I doubt I would have this chance to go to another island of Singapore called Pulau Tekong. The place whereby the recruits would stayed for at least two months and coming back to the mainland only during weekends. I guess I am the only one in the family who gets all excited about going there. My brother, he seems a bit uneasy. My mother was worried and had gone to the temple the previous day to get a talisman and pray for my brother's safety after hearing so many ghost stories about that place. My father was calm and emotionless as usual. We were there on time even though we made a lots of U-turn
s back home. First, my mum didn't bring her IC out. Second, the attire dressed were not according to the letter stated. It's quite strict one. No slippers, bermudas, shorts but actually when you are there, it seems like a lot of people don't understand this rules. LOL. After we reached Pasir Ris, we still had to take a shuttle bus to the ferry pick-up point. The scene was like those kids attending primary school for the first time with the parents bringing them along hand in hand. However I don't think I saw any crying scene here. Okay la, guys cannot cry also can only shed blood.

Penguin Ferry that will bring us to the island. It was just like a normal ferry one take when we go to places like Batam. Nothing special over here and I got a bit bored so I started using my HP to go FB. From there, just one comment it attracted quite alot of different comments. It's like i'm doing a live broadcast of the series of things that's happening at my side and those who had previous experience also add on to the comments.

Finally we reached Tekong!
Big welcome to us visitors.

Look at this banner about BMT. What a motivating quote.

NOTE: 10km/hr. No running allowed. Please walk that speed. Hahaha. Cute sign spotted at the passageway.

Another wall paper.

We were only allowed to walk together with bro for this short while. Once we are inside we were being separated. Enlistees one side, parents the other. *SAD* We keep wondering what bro is going through at the other place. Will he came out with a Botak head to meet us afterward? Or will he be changed out of his home
clothes? Meanwhile, we were being brought to this place and given a brief description of what are the items found in the field pack. The man on the left ah, I thought is a fake guy lo. He is standing there so still as we walked pass him then my mum go and asked me to guess he's real or fake and I go say so loud FAKE One la. Then, we both saw he blink his eyes. OMG. SO PAISEH CAN.

After the briefing, we were brought to the place where they will stayed. My bro co's is called Gryphon Platoon 1. Gryphon as found in Harry Potter. Looks like hostel right?

The inside of their room. The cupboard with private and public section which will be spot checked on a regular basis. The 6 inch spring bed not like last time 2 inch only. So comfortable lor.

G for Gryphon. 1 for platoon. 2 for section. 08 for bed number.

The two pails are for them to wash their dirty clothes in. =S Their so called "Washing Machine" Haha.

After that we came to this room called the annex room. It's like their recreation room BUT it will all depends on whether they've got the chance to come in here or not.

Their canteen.

Spotted my bro's name on the list.

It's time for us to gather in this auditorium. Here we witness the saying of vows by all of them. They were already quite well discipline as they will replied YES SIR NO SIR when being asked to answers questions and they must be loud. If not loud will have to repeat again.

After that, the guys all left first followed by us. They were forming two lines outside in a row and we as parents have to walk along the corridor trying to spot bro. Bro hasn't got his head shaved yet. He said he just went to hear a talk only. Together we went to the canteen and collect our late late lunch or early dinner of the day. It was 4pm+ already. I was super hungry le. We got a plate of fried drumstick rice with some veggie and soup and mango pudding. The time we finished eating is the time we had to say goodbye. From there, we went back and bro stayed. Till two weeks later will he be allowed to come out. I hope he will be safe in there.
