Sunshine Bakeries' all new Sunshine Classic Wholemeal bread : 100% Whole Grains

As consumers today, we are faced with a wide range of breads available in the supermarkets and retail stores and buying that healthiest bread has become a whole lot more confusing. The good news is we are in control of choosing the right choice and improving our diet to stay healthy.

In actual fact, choosing the healthier bread is as easy as picking the bread that carry the label "100% whole grain".  100% whole grains are naturally low in fat and are cholesterol free. They contain protein, lots of healthy fiber, complex carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants - all the nutrients in one package. Whole grains are also known to offer protection from heart disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity, and some cancer.

SUNSHINE CLASSIC WHOLEMEAL BREAD

The all new Sunshine Classic Wholemeal Bread from Sunshine Bakeries is baked with natural wheatberries, rich in dietary fibre, nutrients and complex carbohydrates. Grainier and nuttier, it carries the 100% Wholegrains endorsement by US Whole Grain Council (WGC) and endorsed by Health Promotion Board as a Healthier Choice product.

*** STAY HEALTHY! STAY HAPPY! ***
My healthy, happy looking sandwich for dinner tonight as I don't really have any appetite to have a heavy meal for dinner. This is the most easiest meal to make that can guarantee you to be full and is much healthier than eating instant noodles.

WHAT I USED

INGREDIENTS

1) SUNSHINE CLASSIC WHOLEMEAL BREAD
2) GARDEN SALAD
3) KRAFT SINGLES CHEESE
4) AYAM BRAND TUNA WITH MAYONNAISE

As previously mentioned, the all new Sunshine Classic Wholemeal Bread is baked with natural wheatberries. Wheatberries are the kernels or seeds from which the wheat plant grows. Wheatberries contain all parts of the grain, namely the bran, endosperm and germ which make wheatberries an excellent source of dietary fibre, B vitamins, trace minerals and protein - all the natural goodness that come with 100% whole grain breads.

GARDEN SALAD

Ready-to-eat garden salad is so convenient. What is in this Garden Salad bowl is Fine Mesclun Mix, Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Sweet Corn, Shredded Carrots, Almonds bits, Pumpkin Seeds and Thousand Island Dressing.

STEP-BY-STEP
I don't even need to cut the vegetables.

HAPPY ME WITH HAPPY BREAD

For the busy and health conscious people. The bread itself is relatively soft even though it's 100% wholemeal. The reason why many choose white bread over wholemeal bread is that we dislike that hard and dry feeling of the wheat. I've also tried it with jam and it taste really good as well.

BIG THANKS FOR DELIVERING THIS TO MY HOME!
The Sunshine Classic Wholemeal Bread (550g) is available at all leading supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol marts at a suggested retail price of $3.50 a loaf.  Beside the Sunshine Classic Wholemeal Bread, Sunshine Bakeries also launched the Sunshine Extra Fine Wholemeal Hamburger Buns (220g) and Sunshine Extra Fine Wholemeal Hotdog Rolls (220g). Both products are retailing at a recommended price of $1.80, contain 24% extra fine wholemeal and carry the Health Promotion Board's Healthier Choice symbol. So, change your diet, start eating healthy today.

Sunshine Bakeries : Extra Fine Sprouted Wholemeal Bread + Choc Wholemeal Cream Rolls

Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper!

What is your favourite type of breakfast? Pancake? Prata? Economical fried bee hoon? For me, it's definitely the good-old bread. I would rather skip breakfast if I ran out of bread at home. Usually, I will have soft and chewy breads like white loaf bread, raisin bread, butter bread, etc. Wholemeal bread is not my type of choice as it is too dry and tough to chew even though my parents have been eating this type of bread as a healthier choice.

This perception of mine surely changed 180 degrees after I have tried Sunshine Extra Fine Sprouted Wholemeal Bread. It is tastier than white bread and not that tough as the normal wholemeal bread out there in the market.

With Sunshine Extra Fine Sprouted Wholemeal Bread, my choices of bread has increased and I do not have to compromise on my taste buds when it comes to eating healthy.

So I'm really grateful to be invited to this afternoon high tea session at the Botanic Garden for an educational sharing of information on sprouted grains and their benefits as well as trying out the New Sunshine Extra Fine Sprouted Wholemeal Bread. Definitely learnt a lot during the 2 hours sharing.

"This newly launched product is endorsed by the Health Promotion Board (HPB) as a Healthier Choice product, and it also has the distinction being the first product in Asia to be endorsed by the US Whole Grains Council. We are working closely with the council to further educate consumers on the health benefits of sprouted whole grains. Adults and children alike will love this extra fine and extra soft bread which comes with all the benefits of a wholemeal bread", said Mr Nicholas Koh, Head of Marketing of Sunshine Bakeries & Auric Pacific Marketing for the opening speech.

Next, we have Ms Cynthia Harriman, Director of Food & Nutrition Strategies of the US Whole Grains Council to share with us. It's already 2.30am in Boston where she is but she stayed up to skype and share the benefits with us. She mentioned that the next evolution in healthier food lies in sprouted whole grains and that Sunshine Bakeries is at the forefront of this newest advances in whole grains. She shared with us the goodness of grains, basically, a grain has three edible parts. Refine grains lost half of the nutrients. Eating more whole grains can reduce risk of heart disease. Sprouted whole grains are much healthier as the sprouting process "unlocks" the grain's nutrients that are store in the seeds.

Next speaker is Ms Ketki, she really gives a very detailed explanation of why sprouted grains are better. I'll just summarized them.

1) Easily digestible, cause it's kind of broken down already
2) Increased Vitamin
3) Less intestinal gas
4) Feels full longer

Anyway, it's not east to carry out the sprouting process. Too much heat and the grains will get fungus and rot, too little heat, the grains will not sprout.

What we have for our high tea. All prepared with love from the Sunshine's Extra Fine Sprouted Wholemeal Bread. Below are the recipes courtesy of Ms Anna Lim, Founder of The Soup Spoon Pte Ltd.

Happy posing like a promoter!
