The multiple award winning game MapleStorySEA, redefines the usual gaming experience with its new character releases, map and new gameplay improvements. 

Asiasoft Online, a leading online gaming and digital entertainment company, announced on 16th May 2018 on its highly anticipated major content update, MapleStorySea: ARK. From 16th May onwards, a series of new patches will be released. The first patch is aimed at improving the current gameplay, while the next two will feature new content - a new character job and map!

Media Preview of the Latest Content Updates - 5th May 2018

A media preview was schedule at the Funan Showsuite where CM Venshi did an official presentation for the media and invited guests to get a glimpse of what is the upcoming updates for MapleStorySEA. Cosplayer for the new character Ark was there to unveil the big poster behind the green cloth.

First Patch of the Ark Series Updates - V-Care - 16th May 2018

The V-Care patch includes improved daily quests, a new Matric Points and Arcane Catalyst systems, a new episode of Dimensional Library and many more updates! With the V-Care patch, attaining the 5th job Advancement is now quicker as the waiting time required to activate the 3 Arcane Stones has been removed. Daily Quests has also been simplified and based on the gamers' feedback, the gameplay has been improved with the quality of Life Update. Some of the improvements are: the ability to combine multiple Arcane Symbols; option to sort categories alphabetically in the quest window; Runes and Baits locations displayed on the mini map and etc.  

The All-New Ark Job! - 23rd May 2018

Ark is a member of Grandis' High Flora race. Being involved in a wicked scheme has resulted in half of his body being taken over by a Spectre. Without any memories of what he once was, Ark wanders through the abyss in search of his true identity. 

Ark is a pirate class job which can switch freely between the High Flora mode and Looming Spectre mode. He uses Knuckles as his main weapon and Abyssal Arm as a secondary weapon. The new quests will bring alive the tragic story of Ark in the Vendel desert.

Ark 5th Job Advancement - 30th May 2018

Like all other characters, the 5th Job Advancement is also available to Ark, where he will receive two new skills. The 5th job advancement for Ark will be available to players on 30th May 2018 one their character has reached level 33.

All-New Esfera Map - 6th June 2018

Esfera features the new Arcane River area, which is designated as the end-game map that will decide the fate of the entire Maple World. The Esfera story is a direct continuation of the Moras story and this map is inhabited by monsters of the highest level. Only characters of Level 235 and above may enter into the realm of Esfera. A new boss, WILL - Ruler of the Mirror World can also be found in Esfera.

In conclusion, MapleStory's new content update ensures that new players will be able to catch up and enjoy this exciting expansion. Even retired players will be able to find new interest to go back to try this new Ark character, storyline and features of the game. 

I really look forward to how this game will evolve when Rena is all grown up.

[EVENT] MapleStorySEA's Pre-Beyond Patch Private Event + Giveaway

MapleStory has been around for over a decade and till today is still considered a popular mass-multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). It has been played by different generations, including myself and has been steadily coming up with updates to engage the gamers so that there are more challenges to be completed. Recently I just got back to play the game again and realized that I'm being labelled as an "Ancestor" in the game and they have so many different maps. My latest IGN is ChewyRena but now I'm too busy to continue playing.

I was glad to receive an invitation to attend the MapleStorySEA's Pre-Beyond Patch private event which was exclusively open only for the top Maplers and brand advocates. Thanks Asiasoft for the invite.

Despite not being able to be the top mapler, I was lucky to have my blog that sort of makes me a brand advocate for them. I get a first hand preview of the upcoming patch details as well as insights about the game's future plans.

The event was held at the Second Storey Cafe and I was surprise the place was able to hold a large group of us. 

Had a wonderful buffet spread for refreshments.

Computers were setup for the gamers to login and play the game before the presentation starts.

During the presentation, it was announced that the MapleStorySEA's Beyond patch released will see the game having a new Union System as well as the return of Omega Sector and many other exciting changes.

The Union System is a new feature that replace Character Cards and Part Time Job system. One of the criteria to be in the union system is that your character must be at least level 60 and has completed 2nd Job Advancement.

The Omega Sector will be re-introduced with a new boss at the end of the area. Level requirement is 165+.

One of the main highlight of the event was the introduction of a new boss - Lucid.

The Top Maplers attempting to beat Lucid in Hard Mode but little damages were done and they were unable to defeat Lucid.

Thus, there's now an open challenge to DEFEAT LUCID IN HARD MODE, whereby the first party of 6 players to defeat Lucid in Hard Mode (SEA server) will be immortalized forever! It will comes in a limited edition 6-set @Cash cards (each with a value of 10,000 @Cash), customized with your character and IGN. Just think about giving out this as a 'Special Namecard' to your friends. How cool would that be? Challenge stands till 31 December 2017.

Licence 2 Play : Asiasoft unveil the next Blockbuster Game - Ragnarok Online 2 : Legend of the Second

Licence2Play 2012 is one of Asia's highly anticipated gaming events. Held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre Hall E, it is one event not to be missed by gamers.

This is the platform whereby the latest game highlights and launches, competitions, cosplay and so much more fun happening under one roof!

I'm very excited to be able to enter with a Media Pass. This is my first time visiting such gaming events and I got a special media tag to go with. Woohoo. 

Last time, I used to think that this type of events is for those very pro gamers to go, but now I realised I was wrong. It doesn't matter whether you are an experience gamer or like me who plays games leisurely, as long as you love fun and games, u can be there to soak in the gaming atmosphere. 

 In the center part of the exhibition hall is where the Asiasoft showcase is located. Here, is also where Asiasoft unveil their long-awaited bloackbuster free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) - Ragnarok Online 2 : Legend of the Second. 

 The pink slime looking creature that I'm holding to, is actually one of the monsters in the game. You know how in Maple Story they have the cute green slime? In Ragnarok Online 2, it's pink in colour and it's called Poring!!! Poring is not a nice name if you ask me. Poring. Boring. Poring. And don't you think that it's just too cute to be a monster and be killed? Anyway, I'm super glad to get hold of this and I think I'm loving this more than the orange mushroom. Lolol. Shall bring it to the office to hug.

Haha, now you know how much I love my Poring? Taking group photos already and I'm the only one still holding and posing with Poring to take a photo with it. So embarrassing. 

The great behind the scene aka game developers (Based in Korea, from Gravity Co. Ltd) of Ragnarok Online 2. We were so honored to be able to meet them in person. They flew all the way to Singapore just to be here for the launch.  

  

    So how could we missed out on taking a group photo with them? I just found out online that the original concept was called "The Gate of The World" rather than "Legend of the Second" because the developer felt that it was not really complete. With a change in theme, it also resulted in a change in the ending. 

After that, it was our turn to hands on with playing the game. That's Shu Qing, Jess Baby and me. Thanks Terence for helping to take the photo. We were all too focused playing the game to look at the camera. The game was set in a charming and cheerful storyline in a glorious 3D environment. I'm not really used to playing 3D environment games. The graphic proves to be better with the zoom and all that but I am not used to navigating with the W,A,S,D so I will tend to use the up, down, left, right arrows when moving around. That is more for 2D games like Maple Story. 

The new highlight in Ragnarok Online 2 is their Dual Life System. It enables players with a new function to set their characters as NPC's (Non-Playable characters) when they are offline to render their services (healing, crafting, tailoring, etc) to active players in order to earn a profit.

They've also made vast improvements to traditional game features like the card and kafra systems. In the new card system, the cards will be attached to the character instead of to the items.

Games from Blizzard. Sorry to say, none of these games attracts me. Although I know these games are popular. More for the guys, I felt.

Installation CDs for the media. Oops! Did I just say that none of these games attracts me. Furthermore, I really have no time to start playing online games. Especially during the initial training part. Keep on killing the same monsters to complete quests and level up is quite time consuming and tiring. Nevertheless, I'm thankful to receive all the wonderful goodies and to be able to attend. Maybe I can pass these CDs to someone else. 

MapleSEA's Justice Media Preview

MapleStory is the very first massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that I've played when I was still in Secondary School. (Character name: madnessXjas, bowman) Those were the times whereby I can rush home from school and be stuck in front of the Computer for hours until late at night. I was so crazy about it back then that I even bought pre-paid cash cards at 7-11 so that I can get a kitty as pet and other exclusive items. I even memorized which function keys represent which facial expression so that I can glare/smile/cry at others. Subsequently, I also played other games like Dragonica, Legend of Edda, etc but I only played these games cause my bf is playing them and he asked me to join him and most of the time I just played until a few levels only.

So I'm really happy when I received the invitation to preview the Justice Content update patch at High Cafe, 19 East Coast Road on the 25th Oct, days before the official launch. Previously, Jessie has also shared with me her experience at the MapleStory event last year and it sounded so fun, so this year, knowing that I'm also interested, she helped me get the invites. Thanks so much!

31st October 2012

Launch of ZEN Pirate-based Class 

 Zen's father Zhi Zun was the commander of the Hong Wu Troupe. As he was highly skilled in martial arts, it became his responsibility to protect the Emperor. One fine day, the Emperor got controlled by an unknown dark force and tried to attack him. A few exchanged of blows made the Emperor realised that Zhi Zun was too powerful so when Zen came into the battle, he targeted Zen. The father, sensing the danger, used himself as a shield to protect Zen and died. Zen managed to escape with his trainer Suha but while sailing in the sea, they met with a storm. Luckily, they ran into Kyrin and she saved both Zen and Suha. Surviving the fate from the death of the sea, it's now Zen's mission to avenge his father.   

Part Time Job System

Allows players to receive benefits for their characters even when they are offline. 

Character Card System 

Enhances the characters' statistics and performance within the game.

  Class Revamps 

Enhances the characters' statistics and performance within the game. Major revamps to the Thief and Pirate jobs. Minor tweaks to all other jobs in the Legands, Explorer and Resistance Classes.

In this quest, gamers will seek to free the town that is under controlled by a Black Mage Commander and the evil forces. Like all party quests, gamers will be rewarded handsomely upon each successful completion of the mission while moving a step closer to liberate Azwan!

Thankful for the great accompany with Terence, Jessie and Shu Qing. It's always a joy with them around. Love the small bites and refreshing drinks that was served too. Everyone of us was given a chance to try out the game using the laptops provided and we all have fun exploring the master level skills.

A screenshot of one of the skills. When you characters in game have reached this stage whereby all the skills are at its max, it's seems so easy to play. One hit can cause great damages to the monsters already.
