[EVENTS] Launch of OCBC MyOwn Account + Cricut Wonderland + Double yuu Festival

OCBC Bank launched their all-new OCBC MyOwn Account, designed specifically for kids aged 7 to 15 years old. To celebrate the launch, a party was set up at the OCBC Wisma Atria branch, which my girl and I attended while waiting for Jessie to join us after getting her hair done nearby.

As one of the first 1,000 visitors, we received a complimentary tote bag with a velcro patch that we could decorate ourselves. My girl also received a complimentary macaron, as she was dressed in Disney-themed outfit as Mirabel from Disney's Encanto.

Other highlights included a popcorn and candy floss booth, meet-and-greet sessions with Disney's Stitch, photo zones, and a themed photobooth.

I helped my girl sign up for the OCBC MyOwn Account on the spot and got a chance to play at the claw machine. Unfortunately, we didn't win the Stitch bag charm at the claw machine, but we did received three exclusive Disney pins (random designs were given out)! There are a total of 20 pins, and to get the rest, we need to refer others to open an OCBC MyOwn account. My girl also chose her favourite card design for the debit card tied to her own account. Unlike traditional joint accounts, this account is solely dedicated to the child's name, helping them master their own money management. Parental controls and security measures are in place, allowing parents to view their child's account activity in real-time via a separate dashboard inside the OCBC app. Parents can also set daily transaction limits on the account and debit card, which the child cannot change on their own OCBC app.

We left Orchard and headed to the National Gallery Singapore to meet up with Meryl for the biggest Cricut event of the year - Cricut Wonderland. Featuring a very special guest, Ashish Arora, the President & CEO of Cricut, there were also other fun activities, such as Cricut live demos, Cricut project booths, a Cricut Wishing Tree, photobooth, lucky draws and exclusive deals. It might be the machine to consider if I want to start a small home-based business creating personalized gifts in the future.

It's yuu 2nd birthday and they're having a Double-yuu festival at Suntec City (Convention Centre Atrium). We walked over from the National Gallery Singapore to participate in the 10 different game booths with a "Life is better with Double Yuus" game card. Half of them were mini-games like matching identical cards, and the other half were booths from Cold Storage, DBS, Gojek, Singtel and Great Eastern. We completed the game card and exchanged for a chance to pick a prize. My girl and I got a recycled bag and a cup noodle. I also linked my yuu account with the Suntec+ app to earn double rewards on all qualifying spend in Suntec City, meaning every spending at Suntec earns me yuu points as well. They were also promoting the DBS yuu card, which gives cash rebates or miles when spent at yuu merchants. Although it seems attractive with up to 18% cash rebates or up to 10 miles per S$1, I decided not to sign up as I already have many other regular cards to maintain.

XOXO
