[Saturday at Serangoon] Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery + Platform 1094

Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery located at Serangoon road is a pretty interesting place to visit. Customers can shop for bak kwa,  gifting hampers and also order food and drinks to enjoy in their dine-in bistro area. There is even a wine cellar and bar area right inside this 2,000 square feet store!

Thanks Jessie for entertaining my girl and taking so many photos of her

When Meryl suggested to have our lunch meet-up here, I was thinking in my mind why would anyone wants to eat bak kwa for lunch but I was quickly assured that they served decent food as she has been there before and she even sent us photos of the menu to clear my doubts.

We sure had an interesting experience with their dishes as they tried to incorporate Bak Kwa into most of their dishes. Here's what we had:

Bakkwa Spring Roll - $9

Spring roll with shredded vegetables and some bakkwa bites served with mayonnaise.

Seafood Aglio Olio - $24

Spaghetti with Tiger prawns, scallops, chilli padi and garlic. Regretted ordering this dish as it's really nothing special. Kind of blend and portion is small too.

DIY Slider (Pork) - $14

This deconstructed version of slider comes with mini burger buns, caramelised onions, quail eggs, sunny side up, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, housemade sambal mayonnaise and we choose pork coin-shaped bakkwa. I actually ate them separately and didn't reconstruct it properly in shape but it was nice.

Capsicum & Gourmet Bakkwa Pizza - $15

Just three ingredients in this pizza, gooey cheese, capsicum and gourmet bakkwa and that's enough to make this pizza delicious.

Truffled Mushroom Salad - $16

This is a mushroom dish, loving the crispy fried enoki and warm sous vide egg. Inside contains oyster mushroom, button mushroom and sliced beef bakkwa.

Gourmet Aglio Olio - $16

Ok, this taste so much better compared to my seafood Aglio Olio. Spaghetti with gourmet bakkwa (pork belly), chilli padi, garlic. Yummy.

Grilled Chicken with Alfalfa - $18

This is my favourite dish of the day. The grilled chicken is tender and goes very well together with alfalfa sprouts and roasted potatoes. Drizzled with mushroom sauce.

We were pleasantly surprised to be served with some desserts which is on the house. Swiss roll with cream and grilled minced pork bakkwa bits and pork floss. Sweet and savoury at the same time.

The food, the posh setting and the accompany is simply awesome. Prices stated is already inclusive of GST and they don't charge service charge. Thanks Meryl for using your vouchers to offset the total cost of the meal and for introducing this place to us too. Here's a group photo of the 5 of us.

P.S. This restaurant is on eatigo too, so just make sure you reserve to visit with eatigo to enjoy some discounts  if you do not have the vouchers. Vouchers cannot be used on top of the eatigo reservation.

After our lunch, we went on to visit the Platform 1094 since we are in the vicinity, this is my family's second time visiting this magical Harry Potter themed cafe. The cafe was full and we didn't made any reservation but we stayed around to take some photos outside and it was a blessing when the staff came out to inform us that there is seats available as a group has just left.

Was so tempted to get the dessert tray set but was pretty full from lunch thus we just ordered some drinks and snacks to munch on.

- Butterscotch
- Platform's Polyjuice Brew
- Felix's Euphoric Liquid
- Spam Fries

This is one cafe that we will definitely be back again. Would love to order their pretty cakes next time.

Thankful to my two lovely friends who always prepare a little treat for my girl whenever we meet up. It's great to go food hunting with them and it's always a non-stop eating day whenever I'm out with them. Cheers to more new places to visit together.

XOXO
