Stepping into the Wihardja Furnishing Showroom at 1 kaki bukit is like stepping into a well-furnished giant natural park with lots of different cozy corners. I was feeling a little overwhelmed after rushing down from my work place but it wasn't too long before I spotted familiar faces and found myself settling down at one quiet cozy corner. The kind hearted people there even prepared a scrumptious Indonesia buffet dinner for us so that we don't have to tour around with an empty stomach. I guess everyone present were making themselves feel at home that night.

Established in 1997, Wihardja is a home grown brand which sells furniture for the living room, bedroom, kitchen, outdoors as well as home decoration items. Wihardja specialize in teakwood furniture, teakwood accessories, pottery ware and soft furnishing and their teak furniture are made in Singapore own factory located in Indonesia, Central Java. Teak furniture are available in varnish (4 colour tones), wax finish and natural wood finish.

Not to be confused with Teak furniture is the Reclaimed Teak Furniture. These are usually more expensive than plantation teak furniture as additional steps are required to process the reclaimed teak in order to turn them into furniture. Reclaimed teak furniture have a lot of imperfections on the wood, such as hole in the wood, uneven sides or big chip of the corner. Be sure to notice the difference.

Wihardja is also one of the suppliers for Suar Wood furniture in Singapore and they are definitely competitive in terms of quality and price.

EASE OF CUSTOMIZATION

One extra value services customers can get from Wihardja is the ease of customization. Customers will be pleased to know that Wihardja is able to provide customization according to the dimensions and thickness desired for their Teak, Mahagony or Suar Wood furniture. This is one super awesome features because not every house size is the same. It was shared that the longest table they've ever made for a customer living in a landed property is 2.8 meters long!

Now, you might be wondering where do they get their wood from? Their wood is responsibly sourced from legal wood suppliers in Central Java, Indonesia and we can be rest assured that Wihardja's factory does not allow the use of  'slash and burn' practice to clear the lands for cultivation. Thus, they are definitely not in the contribution to the haze that we are encountering.

MAINTENANCE OF WOODEN FURNITURE

Wooden furniture definitely requires periodic maintenance. It's not as difficult as one think. For day to day maintenance, just need to use furniture lemon pledge. For a more intense maintenance, one can use furniture wax (available at Wihardja).

They have two showroom, the other one is located at Toh Guan which has a 8,000 square feet space but that location is without air-conditioned. Mr Nelson Philippe personally shared with us on what makes him decided to be fully involved with the LPG® system. He was a former IndyCar race car driver and started racing at a tender age of 17. He even won his first IndyCar race in Australia at just 20 years old. However, his car-racing career stopped abruptly when he was seriously injured during a race accident in 2009. Nelson underwent the Endermologie® therapy for a full recovery and since then, he decided to be involved to help others have access to and benefit from this unique cell stimulating technique.

Next, we were brought into this treatment room where a demo was shown on how a typical LPG® Skin Rejuvenation treatment would be like. 

LPG® 10% Peeling procedure for radiant and young looking skin. This procedure combines the LPG® Peel and Face Endermologie for maximum results.

First, the makeup free skin was cleansed with the LPG Pre-Treatment Micellar Lotion, the Face Endermologie treatment boosts microcirculation and stimulates fibroblasts to make them more receptive to the peel. The skin is less prone to redden and better absorbs the peel.

Next, the LPG Peel is applied to the face and neck to exfoliates the skin and boosts cellular regeneration. It is packaged in a syringe with an extra soft silicone applicator. The LPG superficial peel formula combines glycolic and mandelic acid for optimal anti-aging results while reducing skin damage risks. This treatment is suitable for all skin types as they will be able to customize the percentage of the Glycolic acid and Mandelic acid based on the skin type you have.

LPG® Endermologie® Cosmétiques series of products for face and body. Both series helps to stimulate the natural cellular activity for either anti-aging or slimming functions. For the skincare products, they are tailored to the three main ageing types - sagging, hollowing and thickening. As a welcome gift, we were each given this Intense Hydrating Smoothing Serum. This serum comprises 7% high-molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid Complex. It helps in moisturizing and creates an instant smoothing effect when applied to skin. It can also evens out fine lines and wrinkles and helps to hydrate the skin to achieve soft and supple effect. The paraben-free, non-scented serum boasts a fluid texture for maximum comfort even during cold weathers and helps in the formation of a skin protective film that combats external aggression. 

Beside treatment for the face, they also have the LPG® Gynoid Lipomassage to helps achieve the body desired. I would share more on this after my review session with them.

[EVENTS] Her World : Bare for Hope + HKC Plaza Opening + Syle :Fashion Salon Wisma Atria Tea Party

Her World's inaugural Bare for Hope event aims to raise awareness and funds for Singapore's Breast Cancer Foundation. The exhibition was set up in Paragon's Atrium 2 with a Bare for Hope artwork as the main highlight. This artwork is made up of 55 pairs of 3D breast models of celebrity Jade Seah and Oon Shu Ann, as well as breast cancer survivors and the Her World Team. The artwork was later hand-painted by Adeline Yeo and mounted into the shape of a giant pink ribbon which is up for a silent auction.

 I came to know about this event as Meryl was one of the helpers for this exhibition. Members of the public were able to contribute to this good cause by placing the 'I Bare for Hope' pledge card against the chest, post on instagram with hashtag #bareforhope and for every 10 instagram posts, 1 free mammogram will be provided to the under priviledge woman from SCWO. My friends and I went down to give our support and did out part to help. The first few pledgers also get to receive a Her World goodie bag. 

A big congratulation to the official opening of HKC Plaza Skin Aesthetic at Forum The Shopping Mall. Along with the official opening, they've also set up temporary booth at the basement selling some beauty products. We was given a $10 voucher for a minimum of $30 purchase and I bought myself an eyeliner which I will use for special events. Thank you for the samples too. 

Tracy extended her invites to us for this Style X Wisma Atria Tea Party where I get to eat some very interesting cookies by The Cookie Museum for the very first time. The cookies came in classical flavours as well as Heritage Flavours such as Hainanese Chicken Rice, Laksa, Nasi Lemak and Pandan Chiffon. Took instant gif photos at the photo booth which also gives a instant photo print out as well. Super cool machine. We were entertained by performances from VOX. Was really mesmerized by their wonderful performance.

It was an eventful Sunday spent. A photo with the PEANUTS movie crew and a wefie with Linus Van Pelt, favourite character in the series. Love his witty character and his blue security blanket. Photos taken way before all the events while we were having our McDonald's breakfast at Shaw Lido. That branch didn't sell breakfast meal though and we were supposed to have it at Lucky Plaza which was a bad choice cause we forgotten Sunday is Maid's day out and it was so packed over there.

[BEAUTY] Bulgarian Rose Karlovo Signature Tea Party

I was introduced to this brand called BULGARIAN ROSE KARLOVO when I went to their blogger's signature tea party on the 10th of October and I have been using some of their products for a week. They smell so good, even my mum noticed that I'm applying something different and asked me what I'm using so that she could try them too!

These are the top selling products from Bulgarian Rose Karlovo that we were given to try out. Thank you for the generosity. Received a Rose Joghurt Washing Gel For Face from the Gentle Care Cosmetic Series, ROSE Q10 Revitalizing face cream from the Cosmetic Series and Lady's Joy Hair Care Liquid Disperse Crystals. All the products from Bulgarian Rose Karlovo are 100% natural and 100% free from preservatives. 

Before I share more information about the products, let me do a throwback to the Bulgarian Rose Karlovo Signature Tea Party that we went to. It was held at the Muffet's Room Cafe located at Icon Village, Tanjong Pagar. 

Upon entering, what greeted us is this whole range of products from Bulgarian Rose Karlovo that is suitable for use from the head to the toe. The whole cafe was filled with the sweet scent of roses too.

A video was shown which brought us to the Bulgarian Rose factory in the valley of Karlovo, a traditional province area with an old man overseeing the roses. We watched how the products were being manufactured. As the ingredients used is mainly roses, they need to be handmade, because once machine is used to process the roses, they will be damaged. The period of harvesting is usually between May to June and another good thing about their products is that no animal testing is involved. 

The Bulgarian Rose factory was founded in 1948 on the basis of distilleries for processing essential-oil raw material. It was only until the 1960s that the production process in the factory became seasonal and involves the production of essential oils - rose, lavender and mint, as well as concretes - rose and lavender, and absolutes - rose and lavender. 

It has been supplying raw materials to various international companies for cosmetic purchases. In 2000, Bulgarian Rose Karlovo finally produce their own cosmetic line.

I was intrigued by the Peeling Soup cum Sponge from the Rose Cosmetic Series. Made with natural rose oil, it's a two-in-one kind of thing and I've never seen anything like this before.

Ms Aries from Skin Society presenting and sharing with us in details some of their signature products and we also had the chance to try them out. 

This is the Bulgarian Rose Signature made from 100% natural rose water obtained by distillation the flowers of the oil-bearing Rosa Damascena P.Mill. The rose water is a natural tonic. It's so pure and natural that once open, you will have to store it in the fridge, otherwise after six months it will smell badly. It's said to even cure back acnes and can be spray on the scalp to prevent hair fall and promote hair growth. When used on the skin, it allows the skin to retain its beautiful and youthful appearance, compensate the increasing collagen deficit, smooth out the telltale signs of age and keep the skin moisturized and fresh.

The Bulgarian Rose Signature - Serum for Face is mild and gentle and suitable for use even for sensitive skin. Even the unique packaging box is handmade.

The Rose Exfoliating Facial Mask is made of natural rose water, natural rose oil, Alpha-hydroxy acids, jojoba ester and D-panthenol. It has tiny beads that gently removes dead skin cells and cleanses face from impurities without drying. Skin feels smooth and fresh after using.

From the Rose Joghurt Cosmetic Series, we tried the Rose Joghurt Body Butter. This body butter comes with a rich composition of natural oils and vitamins which helps to nourish skin and provide protections from the daily harmful impact of the environment. Ideal for dry to normal skin, it is absorbed quickly and gives skin the smooth and soft feel.

Lady's Joy Hair Care Liquid Disperse Crystals helps to nourish and strengthen the hair and provide protection from the UV damage and humidity effects. It also helps to conditions hair to prevent split ends from happening. 

Application is easy, just apply one to two pumps onto hand and lightly comb through dry hair. Do not rinse. 

One amazing effect is that it helps to make your hair colour more striking. As seen on the demonstration done by Ms Aries, the colour of the left side of her hair stands out more as compared to the right side.

Rose Joghurt Washing Gel For Face is so gentle that it's suitable for everyday cleansing use. It contains natural rose oil, natural rose water, yoghurt, olive oil and soya protein. It helps to remove light make-up and impurities effectively. It can also restores water balance in the epidermis and provides a comfortable feeling of perfect purity after use.
