It has been almost one year since food and beverage company Fraser and Neave (F&N) launched its artisanal ice-cream brand - The inspired Chef. For the past one year, The Inspired Chef range of ice-creams are only made available online via its online boutique store (http://inspiredchef.sg/). The minimum order for online delivery is two pints and they can be packed as gift boxes with metal spoons and serviettes for added convenience for a nominal fee.
Due to popular demand and to cater to the interest of people from all walks of life, F&N celebrate National Day by retailing four of these artisanal ice-creams flavours at FairPrice Finest and FairPrice Xtra, part of NTUC FairPrice, Singapore's leading supermarket retailer. Yes, ordering online is convenient, but if you have the sudden craving, it's still easier to satisfy that craving by getting it off the shelve without having to wait for the one day delivery.
About The Inspired Chef
The Inspired Chef is an idea born out of Singapore which brought together locally renowned chefs to craft a product of their own creative inspiration. The chefs applied both their local local and international knowledge along with best-in-class culinary skills to create inspiring recipes for the local palate. The result is a selection of signature, handcrafted ice cream for consumers to indulge in premium ice-cream flavours that combine both local traditional taste with top international quality ingredients.

These local culinary experts have formulated The Inspired Chef recipes that are reminiscent of the wonderful tastes they grew up with.
The specially concocted flavours are
- Double Peanut Fudge by Chef Wilin Low of Wild Rocket
- Raspberry Cheesecake Rumble by Chef Pang Kok Keong of Antoinette
- Divine Chocolate Tart
- White Chocolate & Black Sesame
- Caramel Popcorn Avalanche by Chef Janice Wong of 2am: dessert bar (Only available for online order)
- Ms Strawberry Madeleine by Daniel Tay (Only available for online order)
Chef Willin Low of Wild Rocket formulated the Double Peanut Fudge flavour as he was inspired by his favourite childhood snack, gong tng or peanut brittle. With his culinary style that combines western cuisine with a local flavour, Double Peanut Fudge is a sumptuous peanut butter ice cream infused with bits size crunchy Asian peanut candy brittle and dark chocolate fudge.

Not only did we get to take a lot of photos with the props, we also get to learn about the inspiration behind the chefs' creation and also try out the four flavours that are retailing.
My personal favourite pick is the unique taste of White Chocolate & Black Sesame ice-cream. I would never have thought that luscious white chocolate and savoury black sesame can goes so well together.
The treat of a scoop of this premium ice cream was made more scrumptious with the toppings available for us to add on ourselves.
Chocolate lovers will love the Divine Chocolate Tart. Concocted in collaboration with Bakerzin. Divine Chocolate Tart impresses with a rich blend of fine chocolate ice-cream, topped with butter crumble and a dash of sea salt. It taste a bit like dark chocolate and not too sweet.
At one station, I smell the cooking of French Toast, and yes, this special topping of the pipping hot French toast and Phyllo pastry goes super well with Chef Pang's Raspberry Cheesecake Rumble! Although Raspberry cheesecake is a rather classic flavour and taste rather sweet, once pair up with the French Toast, it became another inspirational dessert to be served.
