The LG's SUPER UHD TVs have Nano Cell Display technology as well as Full-Array Local Dimming (FALD) backlighting. This allows for a richer, more accurate colours and deepest blacks from every viewing angle. The FALD backlighting technology basically allows the TV to have more control over darkness, so that it can produce pictures that have higher contrast, and appear more vibrant. Most LCD TVs are lit only from the sides, but full-array dimming means that there is a full panel of individual LEDs behind the LCD panel. This gives more precise control over which parts to dim for enhanced contrast, and a more intense picture.
Shaping a New Entertainment Lifestyle Through Intelligence
LG's Smart TV platform offers a launcher bar for easy access to apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Toggle, and features such as mobile connection overlay and screen share. The 2018 LG TV platform now features ThinQ AI (Artificial Intelligence) that delivers intelligent voice-activated control.
As seen in the two videos above, LG TV viewers can speak directly into the remote control to give voice commands and execute actions such as turning the channel or volume up and down, or change the picture mode without manually navigating the interface. In the second half of 2018, LG will roll out a software update to expand the functionality of ThinQ AI that supports more advanced content search and enhanced interactivity.
