Launch party of Parfums Pleats Please by Issey Miyake

PLEATS PLEASE by fashion designer ISSEY MIYAKE is a new fragrance that is newly launched. Was very glad to receive invitation to this exclusive launch party held at Paragon.

Do you know that the Pleats Please garments collections actually originated from the costumes for dancers? It was designed for Ballett Frankfurt with pleats in a piece named "The loss of small detail." The method of pleating allows the flexibility of movement for the dancers. It also represents unrestricted expression and unimpeded movement.

PLEATS PLEASE new fragrance is named exactly after Issey Miyake's signature bright and meticulous pleating fashion collection. This sweet floral fruity fragrance is every bit as vibrant as  his designs.

The fragrance opens with nashi, a hybrid of apples and pears (Oops! Sounds like some apple and pear soup that I have for dinner?) which quickly changed to a more floral scent of peony and sweet pea. The base carries patchouli, cedar, vanilla absolute and white musk. It's a feminine fragrance that would catch other's attention, perfect to use for that special date!

The quirky bottle design is created to resemble Issey Miyake's iconic Bao Bao bags completed with a pleated white flower cap.

Cupcakes as refreshments for us. I anyhow pick the red one (wrong choice) and ended up the red coloring stains my lips and teeth so badly that I can't smile with my mouth open.

PLEATS PLEASE tester paper.

Goodie bag consisting of the following

- L'Eau D'Issey Florale Eau De Toilette
- L'Eau D'Issey shower cream
- Pleats Please Eau De Toilette
- L'Eau D'Issey Body Lotion

Lastly, a group photo with @iamyeoterence @william82sg @dipmecocoa @hengshuqing and @hpility ! Have been rather inactive recently and glad to see familiar faces after so long. We are actually forming the word "E N J O Y" in case you haven't figure that out. ^^ So enjoy and goodnight ~ Thanks for reading!

Astronaut Jas with her Space Food + RIP Neil Armstrong

Hi to the people on Earth~
Address me as Astronaut J as I report live from one of the unknown planets in the Universe.

Virtual Makeover done at  http://www.taaz.com/  with Rachel McAdams's hairstyle
Alright, enough of the nonsense above. I'm just hoping it could grab some attention there. Oh yes, today my post is on my favourite topic - FOOD! To be more specific, it's SPACE FOOD. Everyone needs to eat. Breakfast needs to eat, lunch needs to eat, dinner also needs to eat even my Sim Social charecter gets hungry and needs to eat.

It's so easy for us and convenient for us to talk about eating. When we are hungry, we simply go to the nearest food court or coffee shop or market to buy our food and there's always so many choices for us to choose from. Now, have you ever wondered what the astronaut eat?

Yes, I bought this interesting looking Freeze-dried ice-cream for S$10 after visiting the Titanic exhibition. Read post here.
Basically, astronauts eat 70% less food than people on Earth. Good way to slim down. They eat the same food as on Earth but the food are specially preserved and packaged up to avoid any contamination. Drinks are packaged as dehydrated powders instead of its liquid form.

This packet of freeze-dried ice-cream was originally developed for the early Apollo Missions, after frozen to -40°F, it was vacuum dried and placed in a special polyfoil pouch. Thus, no refrigeration was required and it was made ready-to-eat, anytime, anywhere.

This is how a freeze dried space ice-cream looked like. The taste is rather distinct making up of three different flavours - Strawberry, Vanilla and Chocolate. The texture is slightly rough and airy like Styrofoam which melts and turned into a thick goo inside my mouth. In a microgravity environment, food crumbs can be extremely dangerous to humans and equipment, so this space ice-cream was also coated with an edible gelatin to prevent crumbs. This makes a great snacks but seriously I still prefer the cold icy ice-cream, fresh out from the fridge! :D

Ending my post in mourning of Neil's death on the 25th of August. "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." -- Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon.

Holding the moon on my palm ~! Taken at Taiwan, Hualien. The moon is bigger over there. Lol.

Voice of Love Concert 四海情声演唱会 at MBS

This post is especially dedicated to Ms Tay. Haha. Can't thanks her enough for giving me the pair of tickets although she keep on saying she didn't want to go, but I think if she were there she would have enjoyed herself truly too! Thus, I'm writing this post hoping that she will enjoy reading this post and pretend that she's there with us. ^^v

* 小薇 *

* 彩虹 *
* 天真 *
Remix
* 情人 *

The only drawback of this concert is there's no lyrics on the screen, so one must be very familiar with the songs to be able to sing along.

Goals and expectations in Marriage talk by Ms Theresa Bung

Many a times, we set goals for our career and finances but how many of us actually set goals for marriages? Well, I for one don't. So when my friend, Lis emailed me one day asking if I wanted to go for this talk, I agreed. From the talk, we realized that most people put in a lot of effort just to create that grand and expansive wedding but after spending all their lifetime's savings for the wedding, they got nothing left. Don't forget this, a wedding is only for a day but a marriage is for a lifetime. So it's more important to plan on the marriage instead. A lot of questions have to be discussed with your other half. Questions like Where do live after married? Who do the household chores? etc. We were asked to set our goals and expectations and I listed the following.

Goals

1. To get married before 30.
2. To have at least 2 kids.
3. Whole family to go for holiday once a year.

Expectations

1. The other half to share the household chores together
2. The other half to remember important dates and celebrates with me.
3. Stick together for good times and bad.

Share this video which I find the lyrics quite meaningful

I've been awarded the Liebster Award

Thanks JASMINE for tagging me and giving me this online award. She's one sweet gal whom I've met through Nuffnang's Segway Gogreen after dark event and we've got the same name! So I felt that I can clicked with her. Hehe. It's been way too long since I attended NN events so I'm really touched and surprised when I received the tag notifications in Facebook and Twitter from her. ~^^~

RULES

1.Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2.Answer the questions the tagger has set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you've tagged to answer.
3.Choose eleven people & link them in your post.
4.Go to their page & tell them.
5.Remember no tag backs!

That's quite a lot of rules but rules are set by people and are meant to be broken right? So I shall only answer the 11 questions that were posted to me! ;)

 The Eleven Questions

1.What's your horoscope,talk more about your horoscope?
2.Do you wear makeup? What kind of makeup style do you like to try or been putting on?
3.Talk about your love life,relationship current or past? Talk about it.
4.Are you happy with your life? Lacking of something to make it perfect? Talk about it.
5.What's the most recent thing that make you smile and happy?
6.Which country do you want to visit & who'll you bring along with you?
7.Write about your future plans?
8.Where do you shop normally?
9.To love or Be love ?
10.What kind of phone application do you use normally?
11.What kind of stress are you having right now?

 The Eleven Answers

1. Gemini the twins. I think my horoscope does play a small part to my character. Happy one minute and moody the next.
2.No. I don't apply make-up at all during normal days unless I'm going to attend big events. That's because I'm way too lazy and I don't see the point of spending so much time putting on the make-up in the day just to remove them at night. I rather spend the time decorating my photos using iPhone apps or online.
3. Love life : Boy meet girl, girl meet boy and they both fall in love. Simple as that. :)
4. I'm currently quite happy with my life. It would be perfect if I have a personal chauffeur, personal cook etc. Lol.
5. The most recent thing that make me happy and smile was attending a friend's baby 1 years old birthday. Just watching the kids play and playing with her little girl makes me happy.
6. Too many Countries I've wanted to visit. Nobody. I actually wished to try backpacking alone but too dangerous for me?
7. I want to be a future Tai-Tai. Wahaha.
8. No particular place.
9. Both. Of course I would prefer the other person to love me more. Hee.
10. Whatsapp. I can don't use all other apps, but Whatsapp seems like a daily must use app.
11. Waking up on time every morning.

Okay, that's the end of my eleven answers. Thanks for reading this post although it's nothing informative and

Happy 47th birthday, Singapore ! NDP 2012 Preview at the Floating Platform

In another 5 days time, it would be Singapore's 47th birthday! Woohoo. The last I went to watch the National Day Parade live was when it was still held at the National Stadium, so I had been hoping that I could at least watch it live once at the new venue, Marina Bay Floating Platform. This year, upon realizing that we (used up all NRIC of my family members to register) didn't won the balloting of the NDP tickets, I've already given up hope and thinking to try my luck again next year. It was until one day, bf whatsapp me and told me that his sis has tickets to the NDP Preview and asked me if I wanted to go and my wish came true again!

The admission tickets. We were in the Blue Sector. There's a total of four different colour sectors. Blue, Green, Red and Yellow.

A sea of red. Say, even if you don't know where the floating platform is, just follow those big group of people wearing red. We are all going the same directions.

Taking photos while waiting to get into the parade.

Us wearing red and getting ourselves settled down while waiting for the parade to start.

Host Gurmit Singh made a special entrance by landing to the platform on this giant hot air balloon! Everyone cheered for him.

The Combined School Choir and band started the pre-parade as the the heart-shaped kites flies in the air.

Everyone was asked to hold up the red scarf with the word SINGAPORE printed on. How it looks like on the big screen.

The Integrated Precision Drill and Motorcycle Performance. They've incorporated the cheerleader stunts in the motorcycle performance and the motorcycle is moving one, not stationary for show that type. I wonder how the one in front can bend so much on a moving motorcycle.

And let's welcome the MP! This is just a simulation. Remember this is just the preview.

LOL. Host Suhaimi is demostrating the SAF Red Lions landing and how we should cheer. So before landing, we would all scream "OHHH ~~~" and after landed we would all scream "YAY!"

Before that we have a screaming competition to see which colour sector can scream the loudest! They even have a scream-O-meter. The louder you scream, the higher the colour bars raised to. This one is bluff people one la, when our blue sector scream so loud, yellow bars keep increasing instead. It's just to fill up time before the SAF Red Lions can be seen.

Let's put our hands together for the Singapore Armed Forces Parachute Team for their Free Fall Display! Go Red Lions! Approaching the floating platform!

Still very far away. So I tried to take some artistic photo with my mini Singapore flag.

Within like one minute, we can see the Red Lions more clearly now. Everyone cheered.

*Excited*

I love this photo!

Remember the Cheer??? "OHHHHHH~~~~~"

YAY!!!!! All 5 of them landed safely and gracefully! Good job, our Red Lions!

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) (NS) Clarence Tan, Parade Commander. Highlights of this year's marches include the Commitment to Defence March, Onward March and City March.

Put on the I heart Singapore tattoo! ^^

A truly symbolic moment whereby the state flag are handed from a group of Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen) to full-time National Servicemen (NSFs) and students from uniformed groups. This symbolises the passing on of the commitment to ensure the safety and security of our Country, from one generation to the next.

Majulah Singapura . Onwards Singapore

Aerial Flypast

A bird just flew past. He joked that later the poor bird got shoot down by the presidential gun salute.

Presidential Gun Salute

Feu-de-Joie

Heart shaped waves!

Is this another bird?

NO!

The clappers have lights inside that will light up when hitting together.

The kids drawing her family and school with a giant crayon on the ground.

Colourful parade.

Multi-Racial, Multi-Cultural Singapore.

Cute Dr. Jia Jia and Big Bro conversation.
Big Bro : Do you love me?
Dr. Jia Jia : No.
Big Bro : But I'm your brother and I love you!
Dr. Jia Jia : Ok, then I love you. *HUGZ*

Visit their YouTube Channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/liangjiasun

End of parade. I love Singapore because it's my home. Although I love travelling to other countries, that is only good for short term holidaying. Singapore is still a safe and stable Country. Love our uniquely Singlish, love all the great food around. Love everything about Singapore. ^^

This year's NDP fun pack! Comes in four different designs - Identity, Spirit, Love and Home and can be carried in three different style. Aboved are what goes inside the fun bag. Not bad right, it's definitely durable and waterproof. I've posted a giveaway here. Do participate if you want to get the bag.

VIDEO

Two videos which I've taken at the NDP preview. Just nice the first video was the opening and taken in the day time and the second video is the closing and taken in the night time. It was really an awesome performance and parade. Noticed how the big screen this year was shaped like that of the Singapore island? This is one of the special feature in this year's NDP!

The Opening : Meshed up songs from Bruno Mars - Count on me , Just the way you are , Jason Mraz - I'm Yours and Count on me, Singapore !! The hosts for the parade are Gurmit Singh, Jean Danker, Joakim Gomez, Sharon Au and Suhaimi Yusof. Great job at mingling with the audiences and making the whole parade so high and lively! :D

The Closing : This year NDP Theme Song - Love at First Light by Olivia Ong and Natanya Tan and Stand Up for Singapore. Also managed to take the fireworks in the night sky! Beautiful! :D
