Winter Solstice comes about during the shortest day and longest night of the year. I guess due to the fact that the day is short, people just returned back to their hometown for reunion and this became a traditional things to do. The food that symbolize with Winter Solstice is the glutinous rice balls or 湯圓 in Chinese. 吃碗湯圓好团圆。I missed how my grandparents would cook bowls of this glutinous rice ball for me when I stayed with them during my younger days. Fortunately, this year, I'm meeting up and catching up with my MoO mOo friends and we did end up eating bowls of glutinous rice ball together. *Sweet*
友谊万岁!
Due to all our busy schedule, we don't really meet up that often but when we do, we had lots to chat about. I'm super glad to receive good news of two of them upgrading to become mummies! Congratulations to them for moving on to their next stage of life! A few years down the road, our gatherings may become more and more lively if each of us brings our kids along. I'm really looking forward to that day! Hehe :)
After our dinner at Teahouse The Asian Kitchan (Food not bad but they seems to rush us to leave during the peak period. Reviews to be up soon), we started searching on our iPhones to see if there's any Mr Bean stall at Raffles City. The search returned none. Who knows on our way to the washroom, we spotted Mr Bean! Most lucky thing is the four of us took the last four bowls of the glutinous rice balls! Yay~
Mine is all sesame. We sat by the fountain and savor our glutinous rice balls. Haha. Okie, I edited my rice ball using the most basic Paint. Does it looks like it's screaming? Let's imagine the black sesame to be the mouth. I is creative one lo. Lolol. (Pardon my broken English here)
Anyway, to end this post, let me post up a nicer edited picture of the Oh So Cute So Colourful Glutinous Rice Balls. I give credit to the person who forwarded it to me. Thank you! Compared to mine, this looks better to be forwarded around. A toast to our friendship! Cheers!
