Haagen-Dazs @ Holland Village

Haagen-Dazs ice-creams. Given a $10 voucher but wasn't quite enough to cover the whole cost of most of the items inside the menu. In the end, he choose this particular dish called Flower Blossom~ The actual and the photo in the menu did not differ much which is worth the money and up to their standard. Around the side of the plate are little hearts as decorations and I really saw those little hearts in the actual dish. Very impressive! The five flavours chosen consist of Strawberry Cheesecake, Vanilla, Cookies and Cream, Mango sorbet and Chocolate.

Don't say I only know how to eat and eat, let me teach you the difference between ice-cream, Gelato, Sorbet and Sherbet.

Ice-Cream like the name suggest is made from cream with milk and flavouring added to them.

Gelato is Italian style ice cream. The difference of Gelato from normal ice-cream is the amount of air that is whipped into them. Gelato only have 20% and ice-cream can have up to 60%. This also results in Gelato having a denser and more intensed flavour.

Sorbet contains no milk and is made from fruit puree. That's why Sorbet is a healthier choice and not too sweet and fattening.

Sherbet sounds like Sorbet and like a Sorbet it is fruit based. However, for this, milk is added for creaminess.

So next time go out and impress your friends by telling them the difference without having to ask the counter staff and don't make a fool of yourself by thinking that there are all ice-creams.
