Happy Vesak Day!
I'm not a religious person. I'm a free-thinker but I do share more afflinity with the buddhist and my parents are believers of buddhist. Then the funny thing is since young, whenever I encounter a problem I will pray silently. Just pray. Not to any particular god and usually my little request came true. Acutally I think no matter which religion you are in, they are all supposed to teach you to do good. Be good to others and others will be good to you too. Just like reflection in a mirror. If you show a sulky face, the mirror will also reflect back a sulky face.
Being Vesak day today, I followed my parents to the neighbouring Singapore Buddhist Youth Mission. 新加坡佛教青年弘法团。Parking lots were limited so a lot of people like us just parked alongside the road. Think the traffic police should understand and not issue any tickets ba.

The first think that greeted us was the selling of chocolate fondue. Haha. Haven't ate anything so bought 2 sticks. One for myself, one for mum. Mum ate until the chocolate sauce drip down her mouth and she didn't realised it until an auntie approached her and told her. So paiseh.
观世音菩萨
This sort of reminded me of the LoyKrathong Festival in Thailand.
Just that here we put flowers inside the bowls but for the LoyKrathong festival they make lanterns and put on the water.
Went there for community project during secondary school days.
Still remember how to sing part of the song.
In Thai, using Roman characters:
Wan Pen Duan Sip Song
Nam Koh Nong Tem Taling
Rao Tanglai Chai Ying
Sanuk Ganjing Wan Loy Krathong
Loy Loy Krathong
Loy Loy Kratong,
Loy Krathong Gan Laew
Koh Chern Nong Kaew
Awk Ma Ram Wong
Ram Wong Wan Loy Krathong
Ram Wong Wan Loy Krathong
Boon Ja Song Hai Rao Suk Jai
Boon Ja Song Hai Rao Suk Jai
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Translated into English:
The full moon of the twelfth month,
The full moon of the twelfth month,
As water fills the banks,
We, all men and women,
Have really good fun on Loy Krathong day,
Float, float the krathongs,
Float, float the krathongs,
And after we have floated our krathongs,
I invite you my dear,
To come out and dance,Ramwong [traditional dance] on Loy Krathong Day,
Ramwong on Loy Krathong Day,
Good merit brings us happiness,
I found one of the para on the word 智慧 very meaningful. Here's what it has to say about 智慧:
“利己损人是聪明,利人利己是智慧
聪明的人处处计较,看不开
有智慧的人宁愿自己吃亏,也不愿伤害别人
没有智慧的人专找别人的缺点
有智慧的人欣赏别人的优点
不计较就没心事,没心事自然有智慧
不要担心人家笑我傻,要担心人家说我太聪明
因为有时候聪明就是狡猾。”
After reading this, I hope I can apply the deeping meaning in life. Especially at work. Now I'm really encountering some "politics" over there. Sometime had to act blur, don't be too smart cause being too smart will just make one more pekchek.

Second part of the day, went to this place to have dinner with bf and his 6 other poly friends. Lucky bf make reservation already. It was damn long queue today. Always he had to accompany me and my friends, now this is an outing he organised one, so I had to be there. Bf is already a part of my friends group but I still have yet fit into his friend's group yet. The buffet dinner was so-so. The sushi rice was too sticky so they say maybe they wanted to cook porriadge but failed so ended go and make sushi. -__-" We all have some jokes in between la. Another is the joke to bring a luaggage here to take home the puddings. They say take 60 back, each sell for $0.50 and that amount would nicely covered for today's meal. Group photo is taken using another camera. Pro one. DSLR camera.
After dinner went pool. Only the guys playing. If the gals start playing, they say one hour also haven't clear the table. Haiyo.
