[Event] LG's latest V-series smartphone: LG V40 ThinQ Launch

The LG V40 ThinQ, also dubbed as the 'ultimate five camera smartphone', is finally making its way to Singapore on 26 January. The launch event was held at the second storey of Holey Moley Golf Club and coincidentally Pearly was there too. The venue was perfect as both of us had an afternoon of fun games, food and drinks while exploring the different camera functions of the LG V40 ThinQ.

UNVEILING THE LG V40 THINQ

"With the LG V40 ThinQ, creating and sharing high-quality content has never been easier for the prosumer. The five cameras offer incredible versatility, and with the camera's artificial intelligence capabilities, users can take stunning photographs that stand out on social media platforms." said Mr Shawn Han, Managing Director of LG Electronics Singapore. The presentation by Mr Shawn Han, Managing Director of LG Electronics Singapore was short and on point.

We also had Bang, Product Marketing Manager of LG Electronics Singapore who gave us an interesting insights of how the camera works. Yes, you can create funny photos like how Bang did where he superimposed his selfie next to a lion with wide open mouth. The advertorial videos where LG collaborated with BTS illustrate more.

Five Cameras in One Smartphone for Varied Perspectives

Set to redefine the standard of smartphone photography, the LG V40 ThinQ incorporates a total of five cameras, making it the multimedia powerhouse device designed for today's generation of storytellers who communicate with visuals and videos.

It features a rear camera module with three different lenses: 16MP super wide-angle, 12MP standard angle and 12MP telephoto. With the three lenses, shutterbugs can conveniently frame different shots without having to switch positions relative to the subject. The 107-degree super wide-angle lens captures more view in a frame, such as a vast mountain range or stunning lake, without having to physically step back to get more view in a shot. The telephoto with 2x optical zoom allows users to take clear shots of distant subject, such as wildlife animals or birds, without much loss in image quality.

The front camera features a 5MP wide-angle and 8MP standard angle lens that work in tandem to create the perfect bokeh effect, with an on-screen slider to adjust the amount of background blur. Other features allow selfie lovers to personalize their photos even more with unique lighting and special effects.

A Sonorous Sound Experience

The LG V40 ThinQ is the first LG phone to carry the Audio Tuned by Meridian Label. The 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC produces a balanced sound signature that comes extremely close to the quality of an original recording.

Minimalist Design Built for Lasting Durability

The LG V40 ThinQ retains the slim and light design of the V series, weighting only 169g and measuring at 7.7mm in thickness. It comes with an improved 6.4-inch FullVision OLED display and even slimmer bezels than before.

FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE OF THE LG V40 THINQ

At the experiential zone, we had our hands on the LG V40 ThinQ, the feel of phone was incredibly slim and light. Furthermore, it fits comfortably in the hand. Glad to know that the matt glass offered a high resistance to fingerprints and stains. Didn't spend much time here as we were eager to try out the camera function at the games area.

MINI GOLF GAMES TO EXPERIENCE THE LG V40 THINQ CAMERA FEATURES

At the different game stations, we got to enjoy playing the mini golf games while our photos were taken by the staff using the LG V40 ThinQ's powerful camera functions.

The Triple Shot feature stitched the images captured together with each of the three lenses into a short video file for easy sharing.

Other interesting new features includes the Cine Shot which makes creating cinemagraphs (images with animation) incredibly easy and fun. Simply take a short video and select the area to be animated with a finger. Those unselected parts will remain 'frozen in time'. As per the above video, my golf club and I was frozen but the ball was spinning.

Forget about photoshop, as the Story Shot features allows users to create fun photo composites. Simply choose a background image from existing photos in the photo gallery, or take a new backdrop with the smartphone. After which, just take a selfie which will superimpose onto the background photo. We can expect to find people with the background of Mars, Moons, or any places that they have the image of.

Previously, we need to use different applications to obtain this kind of special effect, but now it can be easily done with just the LG V40 ThinQ camera. So amazing!

The event ended with a lucky draw and I was really lucky to win the a prize! Thank you very much.
