Asia's Got Talent is the biggest talent competition featuring some of the region's most incredible performing artists as they compete to bring home the coveted winning title. This "Got Talent" format, which was created by Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment and co-produced by FremantleMedia is officially the most successful reality TV format in history and currently airs in 186 countries. Right now, "Asia's Got Talent" is the 63rd adaptation of this format.
Was super privilege to be invited for the sneak peek and media conference of the showcase held at Marina Bay Sands today and I was glad to bring along a talented photographer from HooperStudios to this event with me. Check out HooperStudios Facebook Page here for more of his works. Thank you for helping me take all these high quality photos while I enjoyed the performance.
Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez are the hosts for "Asia's Got Talent". Marc and Rovilson are familiar to AXN audiences as contestants of "The Amazing Race Asia Season 2" and hosts of the talk show "The Duke". The on screen charisma of the duo is sure to captivate viewers. Their wit and humour also complement the panel of judges perfectly. They were talking about the search of talents. Some may be good at drumming, others good at singing, even if you say you can talk 24 hours non stop, that is also a talent others don't have. My biggest talent is talking to myself that's why I'm a blogger. Haha. I like to talk to myself while I blogged so I always do it late at night.
Even the casts of Cats the musical pop by to show us their talents as "cats". They put up a pur-fectly wonderful performance as the opening of the show.
Mr Ang Hui Keng, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia said, "'Asia's Got Talent' is a milstone made-in-Asia original production that reinforces SPT Networks, Asia's position as a leader of original, local content in our region. With a stellar judging panel as well as some of the most spectacular acts from our region. 'Asia's Got Talent' is a top quality production that will thrill Asia."
The first performance by DanceThrilogy to the the song Candyman was just unexpected. It started off like a nursery rhyme and suddenly changed to Christina Aguilera's Candyman.
Next up is a performance by The Sam Willows from Singapore. They knew one another through YouTube and their formula for success is perseverance. They do have arguments but they work together to solve them. They have a big dreams and that is to win the Grammy in 5 years time. "If you tell someone your dream and they don't laugh at it then it's not big enough." Good luck to them!
A breathtaking aeriel acrobatic performance by Rajanikara Leng Kaewdee. He was also the winner of Thailand Got Talent 2012. Who would have believe that 10 years ago, he was an Accountant. His encounter was that his boss ask him to try out when the master from France visited. From that day onwards, he found out that he's actually good at this and went on to continue this talent. His advice to all is to believe your are talented and to do your best. Enjoy what you are doing.
Finally, it's time to bring in the series' esteemed celebrity judging panel. Made up of 16 time Grammy-winning Canadian musician David Foster, Indonesian rock icon Anggun, Taiwanese-American pop idol and actor Van Ness Wu and UK pop sensation and former Spice Girl Melanie C.
A special feature of Asia's Got Talent is this Golden Buzzer which will send the contestant straight to the Semi-Fianls. With prizes worth up to US$100,000 at stake and the opportunity for the winner to return and perform at Asia's leading entertainment destination, I am really looking forward for the winner to emerge.
We even got the opportunity for an up close and personal interview time with the judges. It's not an easy task for the judges have to select the most jaw-dropping, mind-blowing and breath-taking performances. The key they were searching for in the performance is PASSION because the performances are too diverse. Sometimes, they have to let the heart decide which show to represent Asia to go International. Do you know Van Ness not only can sing and dance but can speak 6 languages. David Foster is obviously the mean judge out of the panel. He is given the nickname of a 'Dream Crusher'. The hosts are amazing too, while the judges get to sit, they have to stand throughout.
