Singapore Dance Delight Vol 04 - [Part 2/3] Showcase of the different teams

If you have just stumbled upon this post, please click here to read part 1 of the Singapore Dance Delight Vol 4 which I've shared more about the background as well as the judges for this event.

It's so good to be young and wild and free. Showing their passion for dancing on stage. I wish I can be part of them too. Follow your heart, they say. Freedom is doing things that you like, they say but how many of us can really "afford" to do things we like for a living?

Emcee of the night
Sheikh Haikel

"Dance is a language itself and dancers make music look good."

Team 1: Comradery from Singapore. This crew was brought together by the seniors of Ngee Ann Polytecnic's New Revolving Age dance club.

Team 2: Hip Hop Hooray from Indonesia

Team 3: Decada from Philippines.

Team 4: Black Jack from Singapore. This team was only formed in February this year.

Team 5: Le Flair from Singapore. Le Flair represents the strong side of femininity. The three girls were picked and mentor by Ryan Tan for their similarities in dance movements. When I saw them, I thought of the pussycat dolls.

Team 6: FSZ from Vietnam.

Team 7: Platinum Collection from Thailand.

Team 8: Yes Yes Yow! from Indonesia.

Team 9: Roosevelt from Singapore. Roosevelt is a 7 all-girl crew formed in Ngee Ann Polytechnic's dance club, New Revolving Age. One of the mentors, Ogus Goh is also a member of the finalist team, Freekzy Bots. The girls all came from different backgrounds such as Ballet, Contemporary and Chinese Dance and have been trained in Hip Hop for an average of 2 years.

Team 10: G'De Rellas from Singapore. Another all-girl team trained by Gin from Da' Street Soulz, the champion of Singapore Dance Delight Vol. 3.

Team 11: Remixer from Thailand. They've got cute beanie.

With Shu Qing before her hair cut!

Pissed off look.

Team 12: Hybrids of Freedom from Philippines. They are a group of skilled versatile krump dancers united by Patrick Mabanta and Jet David. As their name suggest, they are a group of dancers who believes in inspiring others and not judging people who may live differently.

Team 13: Feel So Funky from Indonesia.

Team 14: Megamint from Singapore. The team name is formed from the merge of both their names Mag and Amin. They both know each other 5 years back in a dance studio, Jitterbugs Swingapore and they've participated in Singapore Dance Delight Vol. 2. The duo gets their inspiration from even the simplest things like human reactions and are still practicing with styling naturalistic movements.

Team 15: Flipendemic Kru from Philippines. The term "flip" in "Flipendemic" means Filipinos, and "endemic can mean native or belonging to. They've won silver in the World Supremacy Battlegrounds 2012 held in Sydney. Their motto of "Champions are not men who never fail, but men who never quit" enables them to go on to make their mark in the prestigious dance competitions.

Team 16: A.O.C (All Out Crew) from Singapore. From Ngee Ann Polytechnic's dance club, New Revolving Age. Their motto is "Hard work and belief beats talent."

Team 17: Zassy B*tch from Thailand.

Team 18: Bla.Que.Neez from Singapore. Pronounces as Black Neez, Bla.Que.Neez is another all girl crew. This unique team name is inspired from a mix of styles from Japan and New York.

Team 19: Blu Cru from Singapore.

Team 20: The Basic Fives from Singapore.

Team 21: Kool Kidz Kru from Singapore.

Team 22: Freekzy Bots. The last team for the night. It was mentioned that one of the family member is in hospital but they are still here for the competition.

Before the results were announced, we have some fun with the audience participation. The three guys on stage have to come up with their own movements and we have to follow them.

This brave guy here is very inspiring. "When we hear music, we cannot just look at our phone, everyone have to try and move." So we have some familiar tunes like "Fantastic Baby" etc for us to dance along with. The audiences participation tonight is 100%. There's so much screaming and cheering for every team. All the dance teams also put up a marvelous performance. I would say every team is a winner tonight.
