I've won a pair of exclusive invites from Her World Plus to attend the Moments of Smart Luxury Exhibition by Gc Timepieces held at Marina Square Central Atrium. Moments of Smart Luxury is a two year global photography project initiated by Gc in 2010.
It was a night for us to witness the rising stars in their Moments of Smart Luxury - Losing oneself in one's passion, captured by Pino Gomes. This theme focuses on emerging individuals who find success in their respective fields and at the same time portrays the personality and characteristics of the GC brand: Dynamic, ambitious, successful and self-assured.
The photographer for Gc Watches' ongoing "Moments of Smart Luxury" photo series - Pino Gomes. To him, smart luxury is able and allowed to be paid to dream at work, and from the dreams build up his life. For the Singapore exhibition, he photographed four young Singapore talents: Singer-Songwriter Sarah Cheng-De Winne, Actor and Chinese Opera Artiste Nick Shen Weijun, Mixologist Ethan Leslie Leong and Designer Alicia Ong.

Sarah is not only a singer-songwriter but also a host and media personality with more than a decade of vocal, musical and theater training. She has a soulful voice and was featured on Mosaic Music Festival 2011, Singapore Wine & Jazz Festival 2010, Esplanade's CLAP Series and Timbre's LIVE.
Nick Shen Weijun
Actor and Chinese Opera Artiste
"Stepping back in time whilst incarnating universal contemporary values"

Know famously for being an actor, Nick Shen first caught the TV viewers' attention during the Star Search in 1999. I was quite surprised to find out that he is also a passionate Teochew Opera Artiste. His eyes really sparkles as he went on stage to talk about how he master this historic art form. He also demonstrated some of the move as a warrior in the Chinese Opera and also riding a horse. Nope. No gangnum style yah. His chosen watch is the Gc-3 AquaSport. A design that evokes a sense of sportiness.
Ethan Leslie Leong
Mixologist
"Concocting a perfect alchemy of the senses"

Ethen turned his interest from a chef to the bar industry in 1996 and started winning international awards such as "Bartender of the Year 1998" as well as Singapore Champion and Best Newcomer in the "Europe Bar Team Challenge 2". He also help to mix the cocktail for tonight's event. His choice of watch is the Gc Sport Class XXL Blackout.
Alicia Ong
Designer
"Seeing a creation come to life"

A graduate from the Parsons School of Design, Alicia obtained experience in fashion internationally in fashion houses such as Marc by Marc Jacobs, Chai, J Crew and DKNY before returning to Singapore to work for local design house Wykidd Song.
A moment of Smart Luxury. On the material sense, luxury comes with a hefty price tag, but smart luxury is something that you don't need to pay a lot for but the quality is still there and gives you the feeling of owning something luxurious. On the philosophy note, doing things that you are passionate about, like travelling can also be moments of Smart Luxury.
