I'm so glad that my boss declared today as a non-working day for us because I have been so busy that I haven't had time to do a lot of things, like collecting my passport, watching movies and buying my Chinese New Year clothes. So today would be the day I do all at once.
First stop, bf drove me to ICA building to collect my first biometric passport. The process was pretty fast and smooth since I have made an e-appointment online for this specific time slot. If you are wondering why didn't I choose to collect it at the nearby post office but have to go down personally to ICA building, I would tell you that not everyone is eligible to do so. When I went to renew my passport at the post office, the counter staff had already informed me that I won't be able to collect it at the post office when she took a look at the issue date of my NRIC. I guess it's because I do not have two sets of fingerprints enrolled in ICA's database yet. I was asked to scan both my left and right fingerprints to be encoded in the chip during the process of collecting my biometric passport. After checking that all the details are correct, I thanked the staff and left. The whole process took me less than 10 minutes.
My old and new passport side by side. The new passport ends at page 64 which is 32 pages lesser than the old one. For a validity period of only 5 years, I doubt I can even use more than half the passport. I've only used up about 11 pages of my old passport.
We took a train from Lavender to Tiong Bahra as bf's bike broke down again so he left it parked at Lavender's carpark.
Our purpose of going to Tiong Bahra is to watch movie! Without much discussion, we both decided on watching The Green Hornet. Of course that's the first choice since Jay Chou is starring in it. Jay acted as Kato a sidekick (he wasn't the main green hornet) turned hero with his kung fu, he was the coolest when he in the short basketball spinning scene, the most talented when he plays the piano.
The fighting scenes were terrific. In same movies, the fighting scenes usually just consist of some very fast movements and the scene would passed by leaving the audiences all confused with who is fighting with who but in this movie, the fighting scenes get slowed down. This is to create the effect of Jay's skill that when his heart started pumping fast, everything around him seems to slow down. :)
Got distracted from phone calls and SMSes from colleagues. Did relied some of them until I find the distractions too distracting and decided to inform them that I was in a movie and turned my phone to silent mode. If it's a life and death matter, I wouldn't mind acting on it fast but it turned out in the end that it's just the issue of the meeting room door cannot be locked and that I've pasted the Chinese decoration the wrong side! Hmm. What can I do about that? It's just like how one ex-colleague commented that if I am ever going to be away on long leave, perhaps people would start calling me asking me where's the A4 papers and can I bring it over to the photocopier machine.
Oh ya, if you are a fan of Jay like me, do get the iweekly that features Jay on cover. Included is even a 3D glass that makes Jay hands looks 3D. Cool.
Found my Chinese New Year clothes at Tom & Stefanie. Bought for mummy too.
This year, I've decided to go checkered. I do not have any shirt that's checkered and this shirt looks perfect.
Took a bus to Queensway shopping centre as the yearly promotion of Levi's exchange any old jeans for a discount of $50 policy is back again.
My first pair of Levi's jeans. People who knows me would know that I hate to buy jeans and I only have limited long jeans in my wardrobe, in fact only that one and only pair. I always had a hard time finding the right jeans that fits. Luckily for me, this shop at Queensway Shopping Centre have just what I was looking for. The Indian shop assistant was super friendly and experienced. Just one look at me and he can brought me a few designs that fits me. Only need to amend the length for $4 dollars. The largest size that Levi came out now is up to size 44 only so bf's have to get his Jeans from Lee for his size 46 jeans.
Last stop at my grandpa house eating our reunion dinner. Nice, a once in a year time where I get to eat home cooked food. Home cooked food can never be compared to eating outside. No matter how nice, how expansive those restaurant foods are, it simply lack that elements when you eat at home with your family. The warmth and coziness of sitting together and eating. Wanted to go Chinatown but since it's drizzling decided to head back home instead.
