Hokkaido Trip - Otaru, Ishiya Chocolate Factory, Susukino

This is my breakfast. We were still looking for the melon but there was no sight of them so I guess they only serve them during dinner time.

Below are photos taken outside our hotel. This is the "dead city" in the morning. It's still quite dead even in the morning and we are able to stand on the road to take photos.

Finally, we've made it to Otaru! Otaru is one of the more picturesque Japanese cities. Alot of their shops sells glasswares. The style there are somewhat like Victorian style.

We visited the Otaru Orgel Doh which houses the Otaru Music Box Museum. This museum is 4 storey high and the whole museum sells nothing but musical box. It's hard to choose which to buy as there's too many choices available.

Those hanging on the wall as seen below are also muscial boxes! Or I shall say musical frames! Once you pull the string, the heavenly music will embrace the room. This is also what I've got for myself.

Opposite the muscial box museum, there is a cafe that sells coffee and at the same time, they allow you to bring back the cup. So I guess we went to drink the coffee for the sake of the cup. :P

After drinking the coffee, a couple from my tour group told us to try the LeTAO cheescake. A small piece only but it's heavenly and yes, we all like it very very much.

Sapporo : Ishiya Chocolate Factory

This chocolate factory is famous for its 白い恋人 chocolate. Say is a factory, but it's like a beautiful castle. The photos below are all taken inside the factory. The flowers outside in their garden serves good phototaking spots.

- Dinner Time -

The highlight of this dinner is the KOBE BEEF. This meat is generally considered to be a delicacy, renowned for its flavour, tenderness, and fatty, well-marbled texture. The cows are well treated before they were slaughtered for consumption. The grass they fed on are not to be stepped by humans and they have workers to massage their backsides to improve meat quality. So just the four pieces of meat Sy's holding cost SGD 800! Initially I didn't want to try but thinking that I might not have a chance to try it again so I agree to try. Anyway, after splitting up, one just got to try two pieces of the meat. It's really has the melt in the mouth feeling. A totally satisfied meal but we all left the restaurant with smelly clothes.

After dinner, we went to Susukino. There is no time for us to change out of our smelly clothing. Susukino is Japan's red light district. Our tour guide home is also near that area. The Japanese red light district is slightly different compared to Singapore as the ladies there do not stand outside waiting for customers. Instead it's the guys' job to stand outside. So if a guy is interested to find a woman, he is to go inside the shop, look at the women' profile and photos, after that take his pick. There is also a lot of theme, like classroom, hospital, office and the woman will thus dress accordingly.
