Monster VS Alien + my fabulous Dinner + Singapore Flyer

Today is a speical day because today is NK's day BC pay~!

WAHAHA. That means all expense incurred today will be paid by BC today, I don't even have to think about bringing my wallet out. Hehe. We had the whole day planned so we went out early. First stop at The Cathay. Had a simple and quick lunch at QuickBite.

After my quick lunch, we went up for our first 3D movie!!! Monsters VS Aliens!!! If you like movies like "Kungfu Panda" or "shrek", this is a movie you wouldn't want to missed. The 3D effect was quite cool. The first scene when the man hits the ping pong ball, it really felt as the ball is bouncing off the screen and almost hit my face.

Ryden said he will give Jas her Fabulous Dinner.

@ Jalapeno's Pepper

1 Blue Wheel
1 Peach Bloom Tea
1 Texas Grilled Chicken
1 Waffle - Around the world
1 Spaghetti Aglio Olio

It's a restaurant below the SIngapore Flyer that's why if you notice, some of the dishes name are quite related to the Flyer. Blue Wheel, around the world, etc. It's amazing!

Our last stop as the day turns into night.

@ Singapore Flyer

My 2nd time up there. It's hard to make a decision whether to be up there when the sky is still bright or when it's dark. The night scene is nicer due to all the streets and buildings light. However, perhaps if we go in the morning, it would be a different feel altogether? I wouldn't know and guess won't be going up there anytime sooner. This is kinda of go one time and that's it kind of trip. I go for the second time since bf hasn't been up there before.

Much ado About Nothing - Play at Fort Canning

My most meaningful birthday present gave bf and I a chance for a wonderful and wet experience to Fort Caning Centre to watch a play called Much Ado about Nothing. Supposed to be bringing some food over since it's a picnic style but I've got no time to prepared the food. So just grab whatever I can find from home. Fear not about the food as there are stalls set up there and we just buy straight from there.

We were there early to chop a good seat. However, heaven was playing tricks on us. Grey clouds slowly covers up the sky and around 7.15pm, just 15 minutes before the show was supposed to start, raindrops begins to pour down. We waited and waited for instructions but as the rain gets heavier, we went into the shelter to dry up. Bf was totally wet from head to toe ashe wanted me to had the umbrella by myself.

After a while, the rain stopped. We moved up again, as they say the play will resume. The staff were trying to mop away the rainwater on the stage. Who knows, it started raining again!!! OMG.We again went in. About 15 minutes later, the rain stopped again. This time, the host told us to shout a chant, to prevent the rain from coming again. It's something like, "Dear angels up above the sky, please allows the sky above Fort Canning Hill to be free from rain......." It works this time, the rain never came again. The show was thus delayed for about one hour.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Some cupids kill with arrow and some with traps."

Written by William Shakespeare, the plot was very well written. Combined with the majestic setting. The clever use of props blends well with the environment. I love the spiral staircase, the costumes, the car and the swimming pool. Andrian Pang was seen in one scene jumping into the pool and I really wished I can jump into the pool too because after the rain, it didn't gets any cooler, but was quite humid.

This play is about a pair of lovers named Claudio and Hero who was about to married. They conspire their time to trick Beatrice and Benedick into confessing their love for each other. Beatrice and Benedick was a playful pair in this play. They were often seen teasing and bickering with each other. Claudio and Hero's wedding got sabotage due to jealousy of Don John. However, like most story ends, this too ends with a happy ending.

PS: Thanks Gy for the present and she was so worried when she learnt that it rainned that she immediately called me to asked if everything still goes on plan or not. Deeply appreciate.

Advance birthday celebration of Ly and me at Zhou Kitchen Anchorpoint

It was hard to gather them out. Ever since we all started working, the only time we had this kind of big group gathering would usually be during birthday. This time round, almost all were present except Ling who couldn't make it due to work commitment. Thanks for Lis for organising and also those who rushed down despite working. Zhou kitchen serves nice Chinese cuisines and had a reasonable price so it's worth going.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Giving my thanks to:

Cindy: Nice earring and sweet earring stand. Flown over from Taiwan ^^ Hehe, owner have never been to Taiwan but now owned a cool pair of Taiwan's earring plus a dressform stand!!!

Lis: Making the effort to search for my favourite NK aka Milk Tea. It's a white cat of two different colours eyes. One is blue, the other yellow. It's so adorable~ I think next time I will dedicate one post just on this adorable cat. Also, the photo really reminds me of the good old times.
Ly: For the jacket. Pink pink suits the occasion.

GY: SMSed me to ask me to open my mailbox today and a shocked I get when I saw a pair of ticket in it. Not cheap one but she hopes that I would have this wonderful experience of going to a play - picnic style!

D: For settling half the bill and for taking the time to come over. He's getting more and more generous. Always treat a bit here and there. :)

Jason: For coming over just to say "Happy Birthday". Hopefully next time it won't be a Hi and Bye session.

BF: For being here with me, always!

Night at the Museum 2 : Battle of the Smithsonian @ Tiong Bahru

Movie tickets on wednesday only cost $5!! Incredibly cheap!!! We just found this out today. I did a search on the net and found that this is something NEW added on to the list on the Safra MovieMax website. At least, it's worth the renewing. The only thing that is not so fantastic is that it's only valid at Tiong Bahru. Lucky it's near my workplace.

.........................................................................................

Comparing Night at the Museum 2 to Night at the Museum 1, I would prefer the first one. Part two is about the same old museum pieces, but this time round they are being shifted to a new Museum. Why I say I prefer the first is because in this second part of the movie, we already know the artifacts would come to life and how thus the feeling of suspense is gone.

........................................................................................

The movie is still overall full of adventures and some laughters.

PS: Dumb Dumb, do you have any gum gum??

BOSS 62th Birthday @ The Sail

The generous boss is at work again. This time round, for his 62th birthday and also the monthly agency activity day, he turned it into a charity day for the old folks staying at red hill. They went off to distribute the rice. some canned food and also an ang bao for the old folks at around 3.30pm. Although I and some other admin staffs didn't go due to work constraint, we did played our part in contributing as the whole morning, we were preparing 350 red packets!!! Handling so much money make my hand smelled of money. It seems like I'm the bank teller. Haha.
..........................................................................

During evening time, after work, Mic come fetch us to The Sail for boss's birthday celebration. Let me share a bit about The Sail @ Marina Bay. Standing at 245m high, The Sail is now known as the tallest residential building in Singapore and the seventh highest in Asia and the 10th highest in the world. Most of the units just comes with one and two bedrooms. Only 250 units will have three or four bedrooms.
.........................................................................

The unit we went to is at level 29 and really boost a bird eye view of the esplanade, CBD area, floating platform. It would really be a joy during National day whereby one can enjoy the comfort of home and yet view the whole ceromony and even the fireworks. We had our dinner at level 8 by the pool side. It was quite humid and really make people wanna jump straight into the pool. The swimming pool is also so unique that they have gym set (treadmills and exercise bikes) underwater. I was telling my colleague that if I lived upstair, I really really have no excuse to exercise. Running underwater = using more energy = more efficient way of slimming down the thights. Around 9pm is the cutting of cake. The birthday cake was nice too. Taste like brownie. I love. After that, John drove me and a few other who stayed west area home. Wondered what is next month's activity.

Linnge & Johnnie Housewaming @ Punggol

It's Lingge and Johnnie's Housewarming and cum Lingge's belated birthday celebration at her new flat in Punggol ! ! ! Lingge invited me and bf to go. Bf bought lunch for me when I saw he even bring over his lappie, I've got a feeling he totally forgotten about the outing today. Reminded him again and he was quite upset cause he couldn't do the things he planned for again. It's not my fault since I've asked him long time ago. Bf's memory is getting from bad to worse lately. Maybe too stress at work.

Took the MRT to Outram and changed to the North East Line to Punggol. DAMN FAR. -____-" ARgh. From Punggol, we still need to take LRT to the Coral Edge!! Really faints. The whole journey took one hour plus. Punggol is considered an ULU ULU island. Lots of empty land up for sale and there's nothing much there. Still under development. That's why the house there are dirt cheap.

Arrived at Lingge's house 2 hours later from the expected timing but I know she can understand our situation. Next time my house-warming will be my turn to make her travel. Haha. We had buffet late lunch and her house is very simple yet stylish. Some of the decoration, she did herself. Like the concept of having a bare wall in the kitchen. Her washroom also have a daring design. The whole washroom is painted bright red and matching marble tiles. The BEST part of her house is she got an air-conditioned living room, a flat screen TV that have a frame around it that changes light, a WII console (played racing car) and and a table scoccer!!! OMG. The table soccer was the MOST entertaining item in her whole house. She told me she was well trained at work whereby her boss would challenge her. So fun! Played until my both hands were sore.

At last it was time to bid goodbye. I don't think there will be much chance that I would set foot in punggol land again since its so so so far away unless by invitation then no choice. Hopefully next time my friends all choose to stay nearby in the west area. Hehe.

May Day Solidarity Walk

Mum called me during office hour, like an excited child, she told me she too wanted to go to this May Day Solidarity Walk! So I told her, okay, you can wear the size L shirt which initially meant for bf but since bf not going, it became an extra.
------------------------------------------------
When I reached home, mum is already all dressed up in the T-shirt provided. Ended up, she took my cousin's one since she also cannot be located. Size M for Kids, my mum can wear. Pro. Called bro over to gather. As we waited for time to pass. Noticed the sky turned a bit dark so was hoping it wouldn't rain.
------------------------------------------------
Made our way to Kallang MRT station to meet D and E. They were already there. We ate some dessert at Mr Bean before heading to the venue. It was a hot hot day and we were sweating already.

D trying very hard to blow up this beach ball. It's a tough job. We also had a tough time jumping over the drain to get to the big empty field opposite to play this ball. I love playing with this type of ball because even if I get hit, it's not pain at all. Haha. However, by the time we started playing, the walk is soon to start too, so we have to jump back.

For all our effort, we were rewarded with a packed fried rice after completing the 2.3km walk. It really seems a long long walk and there's not much view to watch on the way. Anyway, I think the packaging of the lunch box looks like some insurance product. A small kid holding an apple. It does resemble a PA product in my company. Haha. The apple part I mean.

The rewarding part comes after the tireness. It's our first time to the inside of the Marina Bay Golf Course. Since golf is a rich person's hobby. It was hugh inside and windy too since it's already sun setting time. We were ushered into this big field whereby we used the plastic mat provided to place them on the grass. We had our dinner right there. Just like having a picnic. Then, we watched the performance and also see the total charity amount donated to UCARE.

I love this picture as it shows the sky in two colours. Blue and Pink. So nice. To say the truth, I was so tired, I dozed off during one performance. Only wake up during the last segment whereby the MPs performed a song totally re-lyriced from the Hokkien song "要拼才会赢" . Theirs is called Upturn the Downturn. Super funny la.

Collection of T-Shirt for May Day Solidarity Walk @ NTUC Centre

Hello there! Meet Lis and bro at Raffles MRT station as we are going to the NTUC center to collect out T-Shirts for tomorrow's May Day Solidarity Walk. Bf give me one condition and that is he will only join us if the T-shirt has his size.

It's quite a long time I last stepped foot on Raffles Place. The last I think was when i was working there. Waited for them at the MRT station and was observing the CITIbank sales promoter trying to approach passer by to sign on their card. The promoter was so positive that she approaches everyone with a smile on her face. However, she was shunned by most of them. Everyone is rushing. Rushing to another destination, nobody is willing to listen to her. Upstair there's two guys giving out a booklets. They were shouting "GREAT JOBS! GREAT JOBS!" as they were giving out the booklets. The booklet turned out to be pages and pages of job advertisments which I don't find relavant to me. All of them need at least a degree or minimum 10 years working experience.

Finally they arrived and we walked to NTUC center. Collected our T-shirt and the largest size for male is only size L. Bf need XL or even XXL so he confirm won't be joining. Felt a bit wasted for the extra space.

.........................................................................................................................
For our dinner, we choose The asian kitchen since it was the only one available to us within our reach and also the one that is opened. We had Mushroom Duck Noodles, Zha Jiang Mian, Mixed fruits sago, Pork & Veggie dumplings and Red bean milk tea.
That pork & Veggie dumplings make us laugh like mad. Laugh until tears come out. Not because it's very funny but because we were "forcing" my bro to finish up the whole plate. By right should be each take 2 but ended up he one person ate 4. LOL.
