Our Mother Earth is sick. Global Warming, Pollutions, depletion of natural resources, etc are some of the major factors that cause our Mother Earth to break down.

I am sick too but I can easily recover by seeing a doctor and getting a prescription. What about our Mother Earth? Can she recover by herself? The answer is nope. Read article here. Due to the arrogance of human beings, materials were taken away from her crust, tons of waste were piled onto her, toxin pollutions were released inconsiderably which in turn poisoned her air and water and eat away the ozone layer which protects us from the harmful UV rays. Her only way to voice out her anger is through the drastic climate changes in many countries. Icebergs were rapidly melting due to the effect of global warming.

.....................................................................................

There's much that we can do to prevent the situation from worsening and somewhere out there, there's this organization of people who called themselves the Earthkeeper who is worried about the environment issues and is willing to take action to protect Mother Earth. They are the guardian of Mother Earth from Timberland.

Timberland's corporate responsibility is in line to be a socially responsible industry. From the packaging materials to the materials used for their products, they strive a balance between producing quality shoes from using renewable energy and recyclable materials and yet able to minimize harmful effect on the environment.

Socially, Timberland also started a community service projects in 2001 to support greening activities in China's Horqin Desert that is situated in Inner Mongolia, through a Japan based non-profit organisation called GreenNet. The Timberland Horqin Desert Reforestation Project saw 1 million trees being planted since April 2010 and they are embarking on a journey to plant another 2 million trees. Can you imagine a place where once were lush and green become a desert? Watch the video below to find out more.

This is really a very good cause and something that we can do not only for Mother Earth and also for our future generation. I am deeply inspired by what the Timberland Earthkeeper are willing to do to help make a difference and hope to be part of the team too to help to achieve the planting of another 1 million trees.

Signing off,
“Be a Timberland Earthkeeper and support desert greening in Horqin!”
