[EVENT] OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF SENTOSA CABLE CAR SKY NETWORK AND SENTOSA LINE + SENTOSA SG50 PROMOTIONS

Many of you may have taken the cable car at least once to get into Sentosa Island. It's one of the more interesting method to get into the island as compared to the usual mode of transport. I had my first cable car ride experience back in 2012 and it was a very memorable one although it's just a short ride from Harbourfront to Sentosa.

So imagine my excitement when I received the invitation to the official launch of the Cable Car Sky Network and Sentosa Line. The new Sentosa Line, a $78 million investment, is an extension of the existing Mount Faber cable car line and together the two lines form the Singapore Cable Car Sky Network.

The VIPs, including Mr S Iswaran, Minister (Prime Minister's Office) and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade & Industry were there to do the official launch.

Jane and I with Louie the blue bird who is the official mascot for the Singapore Cable Car. Photo taken before we get onboard the Cable Car.

The extension of the Cable Car Sky Network means that visitors from Faber Peak can easily hop lines from Mount Faber line to Sentosa Line, linking up three main attractions and leisure clusters in Sentosa which are the Merlion Plaza, Imbiah Lookout and Siloso Point.

Great bonding time with friends while enjoying exceptional views over Sentosa's tree canopy and Siloso Beach. Ventilation inside was good, it was a rather cooling evening.

One of us took the photo while the other one holding the flashlight. The scenery up on the cable car is definitely a sight to behold with no high rise buildings to block the nice view. Photo credit to Jane.

After the 15 minutes serene ride, we were greeted with colourful refreshments at the Garden Party.

Triple J meet up again,  Jane, Jessie, Jas.

With Jo and Shu Qing and our flower pot! Hehe

Thank you for the invitation. Nice group photo to end the night but that's not the end of my post, read on to find out the promotions Sentosa is throwing for SG50 during the long National Day Holiday. Time to celebrate for the Golden Jubilee weekend.

A detailed chart for the pricing of the Singapore Cable Car Sky Network.

"There is even greater value to be enjoyed in our Faber Licence, which gives unlimited access all year round. Despite doubling the cable car experience with the new Sentosa Line, we will be holding our membership price which starts at just $39 for this Jubilee Year", said Ms Suzanne Ho, General Manager, Mount Faber Leisure Group (MFLG)

Celebrating SG50
As part of Sentosa's SG50 celebrations, rides on the Singapore Cable Car Sky Network will also be free for Singaporeans and local residents from 9am to 9pm on 10 August. In addition, visitors also get to enjoy free entry to The Sentosa Merlion attraction and The Wings of Time show during the Golden Jubilee weekend.

Ealier this year, Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) announced that entry via the Sentosa Boardwalk is free all day every day, while those who drive or take a taxi into the island will enjoy free admission after 5pm on week days (exclusing Public Holidays) till the end of 2015. Spuds & Aprons : Get High on Happiness this Festive Season at Mount Faber

We are definitely spoilt for choices when it comes to picking a restaurant but for special occasions, like the upcoming year-end festive celebrations, I felt there's a need to find a location that can make the dining experience a more wonderful and memorable one.

Doesn't a photo like this makes you wish that you were there personally to experience it?
Actually, you can be there to experience it yourself. This is an official photo taken high at Faber Peak Singapore which is located on Mount Faber. Make this your choice of venue this holiday season as there are lots of dining options if you are searching for restaurants with a view and be sure to catch the stunning fireworks display.

GETTING THERE

To top it off, if you are going there by cable cars, the Singapore Cable Car is currently having this special "Fly with the DC Super Heroes" campaign going on as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations. This would be until March 2015 and will feature Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern in the themed cabins.

With Batman next to me, Thanks Jessie for taking this perfect photo.
Watch the DC Super Heroes come to life using the 'Fly with Super Heroes' mobile app and scanning the in-cable Augmented Reality marker. Due to the low lighting at night, it was actually a bit difficult to capture the code. Glad that Jessie was with me and she managed to help me take this nice photo with the help of her hp torchlight.

Yes, we are in the Batman cabin! I find it very cool to be able to ride in a special themed cabin.

Some of the terms & conditions for getting there either by Mount Faber or HarbourFront.

Come 31 December, gather a group of six friends and embrace the New Year in your very own private cable car Celebration Cabin which will be filled with hearty food and wine while relishing in the dazzling fireworks display.

FESTIVE-INSPIRED LUNCH AND DINNER

For the more conventional ones who still prefer a proper restaurant to dine in, Faber Peak Singapore also have festive-inspired lunch and dinner menus specially prepared for the month of December at Spuds & Aprons and Faber Bistro.

Spuds & Aprons serves good east-and-west dishes with colourful cocktails while overlooking the view the cable cars, harbour and Sentosa Island. Choose to sit comfortably in the air-conditioned Dining Room or relax in the alfresco Garden. There will even be live band performances every Friday and Saturday evening. The alfresco Garden has a seating capacity of 160 pax; and the indoor Dining Room has a seating capacity of 48 pax.

The warm light at the Dining Room makes the whole restaurant looks super elegant and set a relaxing mood.

The table arrangement is pretty. Jess and I both felt so welcome and we love the mini cable car paper holder. It was super cute!

Now come photos of the scrumptious meal that we had. Start off with the delightful and refreshing Festive Welcome Mocktail - Santa-rina (Only available in the Festive Ala Carte Menu)The top layer of powdered sugar looks like snow.

The first appetizer served was the Festive Wicked Fries (Only available in the Festive Ala Carte Menu). This is definitely for cheese lover cause it's made up of 6 different kind of cheese! Also found in this dish are Turkey bacon, ham and cranberries. Once you start, you can't stop. Was told that the difference between this dish to the usual dish they sold was that instead of gravy, they've changed to cream. A perfect combination. I love it.

The second appetizer served to us was the Pan Fried Foie Gras. This is made of duck liver. At the side are spinach, walnuts and poached egg. I don't take Foie Gras but I try to eat half of it. It taste subtle and seems to have the melt in the mouth feeling.

The third appetizer served Grilled Tako. Ours is in the portion for tasting only. Actual dish would definitely be bigger. It's like a mix of salad with those jelly cold dish with the grilled tako. The whole dish is crunchy, chewy and opens up your taste buds.

Our first main course is Grilled King Prawns Pasta. The pasta is cooked with squid ink thus the black colour. I felt that the colour combination of the black pasta and the bright red king prawns matches better compared to pairing it with the normal colour pasta. This dish is a bit spicy, so get your water prepared.

Our second main course is Baked Asian Turkey Roll (Only available in the Festive Ala Carte Menu). This is a more interesting dish whereby the turkey meat is mixed with tomatoes before baked. It comes with butternut pumpkin puree.

Dessert was Mountain of Happiness. Yes, it's literally a mountain of 16 scoops of ice-creams!!! Some of the flavours are Mango Sorbet, Vanilla, Belgium Chocolate, Green Tea, Haagen Daz, Rum and Rasin, Strawberry and Raspberry. Ice-cream for desserts can never go wrong and one can never be too full for ice-cream.

There's even a sort of ongoing challenge to whoever can finish the 16 scoop of ice-cream in 15 minutes can get this whole ice-cream dessert ON THE HOUSE! Seems quite impossible but they told us that there's actually one guy who did it. They even printed this apron to give out to whoever completed the challenge. I don't know how anyone can complete this challenge. For me, ice-cream have to be savour slowly to enjoy the taste.

Definitely a great and memorable dining experience for me. Enjoy the good food and great accompany. Their Festive Set Lunch are priced below $40 and I personally can say that it's super worth the price. The place will also be decorated with colourful festive decors and there will be a six-feet-tall ice-cream tree, macaroon tree and cutlery trees made up of colourful utensils for many photos taking opportunities.

Thank you so much for the kind invitation and Christmas came early for me with this delicious Chocolate fruit cake. My mum loves this cake that I brought home so much that she message me to describe to me in details. Haha. I guess she can be a food reviewer too!

World's first Angry Birds Cable Car Ride + Super Value Sentosa Package : 4D Magix + Songs of the Sea

View on top of Mount Faber
Sometime, it may be a blessing in disguise when things didn't go according to plans. I bought the Super Value Sentosa Package from Streetdeal.sg somewhere in February and it was supposed to be for my bf's birthday celebration. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, we didn't managed to utilize the voucher on time for his birthday and moving on, both of us were just too busy and have no time to go Sentosa. So it was dragged until now, which is June, also my birthday month before we are both free to make the trip down.

Coincidentally, our trip also crash with the launch of the World's first Angry Birds Cable Car at Mount Faber! I actually wanted to add some angry birds to my nails but these fringe activities cabins seems kinda empty.

Fits my head.

Since there is nothing much to see outside, we entered the Jewel box to get to the cable car station. This is the first time I set foot inside The Jewel box and I really love this place. Elegant and classy and I really love the bling bling J very much!

Angry birds fans, please scream! Pay an additional $5 (if you have purchase the cable car ride tickets) to enjoy the games at different booths. The first booth is this life size angry birds catapult. Get your hands on to shoot down the pigs. Not that easy. Most of the kids don't have the strength to shoot it that far.

Try something easier, Angry Birds pinball!

Pose for fun ^^

Big size tv screen for you to play the Angry Birds games.

The Outraged Meal from the Angry Birds Menu (S$13), consisting of 6 pcs nuggets, Fries, Angry Birds Cupcake, Angry Birds Mocktail in a collectible cup and they gave me a free Angry Bird KeyChain. Cute~

And this is their normal set lunch. Yum Yum!

A popular solemnization venue.

Inside the Amber Galleria, selling all kind of Angry Birds Merchandise. Strike the iron while its hot.

Before I went to queue for my cable car ride, I still got a chance to take a group photos with these fun Angry Birds. I'm gonna make this my display photo. So happy!

The great value ticket. For $39 each, I got to enjoy a full day Sentosa Admission, 2 ways Jewel Cable Car Ride, Cable Car Museum and 2 other attractions. Super worth it right? The Cable Car ticket itself already cost $29 each adult.

From now till end December, come experience a cable car ride with the Angry Birds! First in the world to experience it. So hurry down now! About 30 cable cars are decorated with the Angry Birds pictures and inside there's even a big Angry Bird soft toy for you to take photo with. Also, they will play the angry birds game sound effect.

Lucky me~

The cable cars are arranged such that the Angry Birds are always "chasing" the pig. Haha. The fully covered ones are not for boarding though.

My first time entering Sentosa by Cable Car. Quite excited. Got to take a photo of the Star Cruise too. I've never been on a cruise before too. Maybe I should wish for that to come true.

A short entertaining video. Visit the Singapore Cable Car Website to find out more.

We've reached Sentosa!

First stop at the Cable Car Museum. We read about the evolving of cable cars and the different type of the cable cars. There's even a challenge in the past to see who can survived the longest in the cable car. Bf say so easy to win, just need to sleep inside. I wondered if they are coming up with a similar challenge, I'll make sure he go and take part and win that money.

Haha! This time I've turned myself into the angry bird.

Exchanged the blue tickets to the green tickets and also selected the two main attractions .

We went to exchange for our 4D Magix tickets first. I have tried before the 4D movie at RWS (Shrek) and this is the first time I'm watching a 4D show at Sentosa. The show title is called Pirates.Usual Price is S$18 per adult at the Imbiah Station.

It's a very wonderful experience with Captain Lucky and his group of pirates. Their journey to search for the hidden treasures is full of traps, caves bats, hornets and many surprises. Quite fun I would say, every shake and bumps happening in the scene can be felt and this includes the gusty wind and water spray (when the boat rides down the fast paced stream) and tickling of the feets (spider webs). We were seated at the first row and some of the scenes felt like it has jumped off the screen and comes to life due to the 3D effects. Next time I would like to try the Cineblast: Extreme Log Ride (4D simulation ride) and Desperados (interactive 3D shoot-out game).

It's easy to pass time at Sentosa. After our 4D magix show, it was still early for dinner so we walked to the forecourt of Images of Singapore and settled ourselves down with the kids for a StoryTelling Comes Alive session.

A new version of Little Red Ridding Hood. I love how this giant book looks. It reminds me of my Primary school days whereby during story telling lesson, we would all came out of our seats and seated down on the classroom's cement floor. My teacher used to show us giant books like this too.

But this is definitely more fun. See that's little Red!

And the big bad wolf dressing up as granny.

As little girl.

As a blind man.

As a mother.

As Little Red's Grandma! LOLx

With Little Red.

Peacock Spotting!

I'm a little teapot, short and stout.

With Pinocchio. A lot of random photos to pass time.

Dinner at Tastes of Asia.

There's zero reception inside this place and food wise, I can only say must order the right food. My ayam penyet turns out to be Chicken Rice! Ayam Penyet give me normal chicken rice sauce. Really cannot make it. Asked the young waiter to give me some black sauce, he can still tell me they don't have but when I asked another waitress, she gave us the black sauce.

Finally it's time for the Songs of the Sea. The award-winning nightly extravaganza set in the sea. Songs of the sea is a mesmerising show with a live cast of performance and effects like pyrotechnics, water jets, brilliant lasers, special computer imaging, stunning flames bursts and captivating music,

Before the sky turns dark.

The magical effect of the combination of water, lights and fire plus the singing and dancing of the performers is just amazing! When I was young, it used to be Musical Fountain now more commonly known by the name "Songs of the sea." I don't remember it to be so magnificent like now. Watched the videos I've taken on the Songs of the sea featuring, songs and dances, fire, lights and water. Great show indeed. It's indeed a fun filled day at Sentosa!
