[Personal] Hari Raya holiday - Swimming + Dinner at Teahouse 1973

Jessie invited us over for a swim during the Hari Raya public holiday and we spent a good 1 hour just enjoying ourselves at the swimming pool of her new home. In my family, only my hubby knows how to swim and my girl is still pretty scare of the water but she still loves it when we say we are going swimming. I guess like me, she just love to soak in the water but I hope she will learn to swim soon like her papa.

Explored the area and also the sky park which has very shallow pool and my girl kept asking for permission to walk inside and we allowed her although we had already washed up after our swim. Can't wait for RKM loft to be ready soon. With this covid situation, my friends and I will try to meet up when we can as we are all so unsure when there will be another updates to the Covid-19 measures again. Currently, with effect from 8 May, the gathering limits has reduced from 8 pax to 5 pax so it's just nice for the RKM and Lee family to meet up.

For our dinner, we decided not to drive out so RKM suggested we went to Teahouse 1973 which is just a walking distance away to try out their food. This is our first time there at Teahouse 1973 which serves culinary dishes of Penang, Malaysia cooked using traditional home recipes that were passed down. It was a nice cozy place where Chinese and English songs from the 70s were played.

We had a hard time choosing what to eat as everything on the menu looks so yummy. In the end, hubby ordered the Rosemary Honey Roasted Chicken Leg ($13.80) and we were all so surprised when it was served as the Chicken Leg was really huge and comes with fries and salad by the side! Definitely worth the price!

For myself, I had the Sambal Prawn Nasi Lemak ($13.80) which is very beautifully plated with blue butterfly pea rice. The rice is fragrant and the sambal chilli is really really spicy, not for those who prefer to have sweet sambal chilli. The sides are a whole full-boiled egg, achar, sliced cucumber, keropok and petai.

For my girl we ordered the only Kids Set ($10) from the Kids Menu. It comes with a sausage pasta, nuggets, drinks (milo/ribena) and vanilla ice cream. This is perfect for my girl as the items are all her favourite dish.

We ended our meal with some cakes and we got ourselves the Chocolate Rainbow Cake and Apple Crumble. Sweet ending!

Overall, Teahouse 1973 is a cafe with nice ambiance to go to anytime, not only they serve yummy mains dishes, they also serves high tea set and alcoholic drinks and best of all, they don't charge extra for water and wet wipes. They also don't charge GST or Service Charge. Will definitely go back again next time.

XOXO
