[Event] Get ready this Festive Season with Cake Avenue

Christmas Party at Cake Avenue
Christmas came early at Cake Avenue as we were treated to a tasting session last Wednesday. As we are fast approaching the festive year end, it's time to get into the jolly spirit with family and friends. This also implies lots of gatherings and parties in the schedule, and if you are looking for some money-saving festive packages suitable for any gathering, you may just wish to take a look at what Cake Avenue can offers!

Christmas at Cake Avenue

Their christmas menu includes savoury dishes like Chicken Lasagna, Braised Lamb Shank, Roasted Vegetables, and Assorted Canapes (Smoked Salmon, Tuna and Egg Mayo).

Not forgetting the sweet treats from the menu that includes the Reindeer Cake (Chocolate Fudge, Vanilla Buttercream or Chocolate Cherry Red Velvet), Chocolate Fudge Yule Log, Jelly Cups, Mini Brownies, Mini Fruit Tarts and Macarons.

The entremets includes Mini Chocolate Yule Log, Chocolate Caramel Reindeer and Christmas Apple Bauble. If you've noticed the Mini Chocolate Yule Log and Chocolate Caramel Reindeer actually comes in the full-sized cake as well. Each of this cost $5.90.

Diner Themed Dessert

Beside the Christmas Menu, head pastry chef E.T. Yew also release an all-new dessert menu for the cake shop's 17th Anniversary this year. Check out his ingenious idea of presenting food to the diners which features 6 creations designed to mimic the look and feel of our usual savoury dinner such as hamburgers, corn dogs, nachos and alphabet soup. All I can say is what you see is not what you eat.

Diner Sliders and Fries (S$15.90) or Fries with Two Sauces (S$8.90)

Burger that is actually made of vanilla butter cake buns with dark chocolate ice cream as the patty. The fries is actually vanilla cake. I am most surprised to find out that the mustard and ketchup sauce in this case is actually passionfruit puree and raspberry puree!

The Great Con Dog (S$8.90)

Corn Dog to con you into thinking it's real. Instead of the usual sausage meat inside, the interior is actually warm sweetcorn custard with a crunchy breaded exterior. A warm welcome after tasting so much sweet stuff. It also comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries.

Nachos Dulces (S$12.90)

This is quite an addictive dish that can be shared among a group. The crispy flatbread nachos is topped up with chocolate mousse 'refried beans', strawberry compote 'salsa', julienned peach 'cheese' and pistachio ice cream 'guacamole'.

The Alphabet Soup (S$8.90)

The alphabet soup that I used to eat when I was young now became a refreshing, creamy lychee mousse with chunks of lychee and raspberry fruit topped with sweet milk agar 'alphabets' and a rose jelly 'consomme',

  The Lava Pops (S$8.90)

These are actually warm red velvet cake that resembles meatballs. One bite into the crunchy breaded exterior and your mouth will be filled with its molten vanilla cream cheese fillings.

These deceptive desserts will be available till end of the year before they change the menu for the new year. Do take the chance to visit the cafe and try them out for yourself.

Magical unicorn shakes that are just too pretty to drink!

So happy to meet Meryl at the tasting event too. Such a long time didn't meet up due to all our busy schedules.
