[TRAVEL] Tasmania Trip Day 2 - Sheffield Town of Murals + Cradle Mountain

The main highlights to the second day of my Tasmania Trip was to visit the Sheffield Town of Murals + Cradle Mountain.

(Note: I would not be blogging about Day 1 as we've met with some situation and still settling it with the travel agency. Awaiting their reply before I conclude.)

Breakfast was complimentary from the hotel we stayed at Launceston - Hotel Grand Chancellor

It's about an hour ride before we reached Elizabeth Town Bakery Cafe where we had our toilet break and was told to buy our packed lunch here as this is the only cafe nearby. We packed some sandwiches here.

Views from the private mini van.

Reached Sheffield, the Town of Murals. This place is Tasmania's Outdoor Art Gallery. The message aboved was quoted for the mural and extracted from their official website here

MURAL FEST 2015

Mural No. 3 is the winning mural. Titled 'Traveling Dreams' by Nikolay Dimitroy (Bulgaria).

Mural No. 7 won the Visitors' Choice Award. Titled 'Wish Upon a Dream' by Patricia Smart & Olly Grohs (NSW). This is my favourite too.

Spotted a wall mural that don't quite fit in. Found out that this was actually painted by Eason Chan when he visited this place. Hmmm.

I find this place pretty interesting. It's like the people here are all so artistic and creative.

Continued our ride to Cradle Mountain and spotted a wallaby! So cute!

Reached Cradle Mountain! It's the fifth highest mountain in Tasmania. It was super cold here even my jacket is not enough to shelter me from the coldness. Grateful for this outer jacket, beannie and gloves that the tour guide lent to me.

Dove Lake Circuit Track (2 Hours)

Here at the Cradle Mountain, there's a few routes to choose from. We decided to go for the more leisure walking on the Dove Lake Circuit Track.

This is probably the most beautiful place I've been to so far. No matter which angle you stand, the scenery behind would just make the photos look so good.

At the Glacier Rock lookout. It's raining ice. The think about Cradle Mountain is the weather is crazy there. One minute, it's raining, the next it's sunny again, the next it's so windy and the next it's raining ice. So we experience all of these in this 2 hours walk.

Clear Water.

Cradle Mountain got its name due to its resemblance to a gold mining cradle.

Stopped for lunch. This black bird followed us whenever we stopped.

Too many photos here. So shortlisted these few.

After that, we drove a bit further in and we went to look for Wombats! While chasing for wombats, we got a lot of leeches that got stuck on our clothing. Our tour guide is a very nice man, he helped us to clear the leeches and put them all back into the wildlife instead of killing them.

After that, we went to the Ashgrove Cheese Shop and I had ice-cream there.

Our guide for the tours today. We reached back to our hotel around 5.30pm. Will post about our free & easy time and dinner in my next post.

XOXO
