[EVENT] ARCHITECTURAL & BUILDING SERVICES 2015

I attended the Architecture & Building Services 2015 Series (ABS 2015 Series) held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center Singapore, which was declared open by Mr Baey Yam Keng, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Member of Parliament, Tampines GRC, Deputy Chairman of Government Parliamentary Committee for Communications & Information.

This 3-day mega exhibitions presents six of the leading architectural and building services shows (ArchXpo 2015, International Facility Management Expo 2015, LED+Light Asia 2015, Safety & Security Asia 2015, Fire & Disaster Asia 2015 and Work Safe Asia 2015) and four key conferences for these industries.  

Chop Ching Hin Pte Ltd

 Our first stop was at Chop Ching Hin Pte Ltd which provides landscape supplies as well as solutions. Their main nurseries are located in Malaysia and I found out that even trees can be imported!

Elmich Pte Ltd is all about sustainable eco-friendly landscape & architecture products. As they mark their 30th anniversary, they redefine the conventional usage of Elmich products by deconstructing them into parts for their booth design.

Green Turf provides artificial green walls as well as artificial turf which can be placed as flooring, walls, ceilings, rooftops, both indoors or outdoors. One thing good about using artificial plants is that they requires little maintenance and can still look bright and green under any conditions. Maybe this is something to consider to have in the house, they say green colour is good for the eyes. 

Concord Security Pte Ltd

Concord Security Pte Ltd aim is to transform Singapore into a SMART NATION with a series of technological integration. Inside the van is an installation of security and building monitoring systems. 

Abloy is one of the leading manufacturers of locks, locking systems and architectural hardware. Locks are so high tech now that we have fingerprint locks, number pad locks, eye scanner lock, whatever they could think of. Gone are the days you have to bring a big bunch of keys around.

Galmon (S) Pte Ltd provides quality, reliable and safe mobile elevating work platforms. What Mr Baey is standing on is called the Scissor Life.

Workplace safety is not something we can take for granted. Everyone plays a part in improving the safety at the workplace. 

Light Basic Studio won the Best Boutique Booth Category (Diamond Award) at the ArchXpo 2014.

They have all types of lighting be it for outdoor, residential or commercial. 

Display of the SIA Architectural Design Awards 2015. Some of these buildings in Singapore are so beautiful, I didn't even know they exist. Think shall find one day to explore them. 

This exhibition caters more to those in the related industry trades. For me, I get to keep myself updated of the latest cutting-edge technologies, innovative products and services. I'm pretty sure the next exhibition will be an even larger scale one. Thank you for the invite.

[PERSONAL] Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration + KTV

My Mid-Autumn Festival this year turned out to be a very fun and memorable one. Upon knowing that I have this mid-autumn outing with my friends, my mum decided she wants to come along as well. Look at how happy she is, she must have remembered some good old memories of playing with paper lanterns. 

We gathered at Labrador Nature Reserve which was a good location as it's not too crowded and is quite easily accessible for everyone with the circle line. Thanks RKM for organizing this outing otherwise I would probably be staying at home.

Really enjoyed the happy gathering with my mum, Jessie, Meryl, Joanne, not forgetting Kelvin (Jess's Beau) who ensures our lanterns stay lighted throughout and brought us in. Didn't even know he burnt his finger until I read Jess's post. Ouch. Thank you so much.

Mid-Autumn Festival completed with moon cake tasting. Jessie brought hers from RT Pastry House in Malaysia while I brought one which I randomly receive today.

Full moon tonight! Moon gazing time. After which, we walked back to the carpark in this very dark trail with our lighted lanterns.

RKM brought all of us to a nearby restaurant called Sum Kee located at Yeo's Building. We all agreed that we have a feeling as if we were not in Singapore because of the decorations and setting there.

We had Ultraman Chicken, Wa Wa Steamed Tofu, Sambal KangKong and Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs. I love the Wa Wa Tofu and Sweet and Sour Pork the most. The Kang Kong is a bit too salty and the Ultramna Chicken is called Ultraman cause it's salted egg and salted egg in Chinese is 鹹蛋。

Happy faces when the food arrives. Appreciate the treat from Kelvin.

The night is still young for us so we continue the night by going to KTV at PartyWorld, Clementi. It's about 10pm when we've reached and my mum have went back home to rest already as she's feeling tired.

Thanks Meryl/Jessie for the photo. We were lucky to get student price and even an extension of 30 minutes but that is not even enough for us! When the time reached we still have 4 pages of songs unsang! Goodness. I think we have to resort to singing on our singing app in our phones. Haha. Had a really great day. Love my friends who are so fun and spontaneous.

Jing Hua was founded in 1989 by Mr and Mrs Han who are both Singaporean. Now in their 70s, the couple recalls Jing Hua as one of the first occupants of the shophouses along Singapore's Neil Road that were refurbished in the late 1980s. This branch at Palais Renaissance is actually their third branch in Singapore. They have also set up international branches in Japan and Italy.

The appetizer to begin with.

Zha Jiang Noodle

The Han family's special minced pork & soya bean sauce with fresh sprouts and cucumbers over light yet thick noodles. I felt that the sauce does not suit my taste-bud. However, the noodle is quite special.

Soup and Fried Spring Roll 

The soup is appetizing and the fried spring roll is delicious.

Vegetables 

Vegetables will never go wrong.

Little Juicy Steamed Pork Dumpling

This dish is their signature dish. Better known as Xiao Long Bao, this soup dumplings with a lightly flavoured pork broth. For me, I would prefer a more flavourful broth.

Boiled Dumpling

This is more to my preference as it's more tasty.

Pan-fried Mixed Seafood & Pork Dumpling

Served straight out the pan, it's crispy hot on the bottom and juice on the top. This dumpling leaves a deep impression for it's one-of-a-kind unique open-ended appearance.

Crispy Red Bean Pancake

This is a perfect sweet dish to end the meal. I love the smooth and sweet red bean filling that is covered with a thin mochi-like layer beneath the hot and crispy exterior.

It was definitely an enjoyable evening spent together with my friends. I will definitely go back to Palaris Renaissance to try out other dining places as well as to shop. Thank you.
