[Media Launch] Dell Venue 8 7000 Series Android™ Tablet Lands in Singapore

Dell announced the availability of its Venue 8 7000 Series tablet at the launch event held at Art Plural Gallery today. First unveiled at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) last September, the much anticipated tablet features a series of 'firsts' in both its design and features.

Pushing the boundaries of DESIGN

The Venue 8 is the World's thinnest tablet at only 6mm (Based on Dell internal analysis performed July 2014) and this has take razor thin to a whole new level. It also features the best tablet display available today with a stunning 8.4-inch OLED infinity edge-to-edge display that provides sharper viewing from all angles. This is further enhanced with the tablet's vivid 2560 x 1600 resolution which delivers crystal clear images for better user experience.

Based on Android 4.4 "Kit Kat" OS, the Venue 8 drives performance with the latest Intel® Atom™ processor Z3500 series, allowing for faster web browsing and photo editing. Users can also enjoy an immersive audio experience through the tablet's premium audio technology from MAXXAudio Waves and its front-firing stereos

A new dimension to DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Now, I'm going to share with you guys one feature of Venue 8 that really amazed me very much and that is their camera feature. The Venue 8 is the FIRST tablet to integrate the Intel® RealSense™ Snapshot Depth Camera. This really brings photography to a new dimension as the camera will captures a high-definition depth map for every picture taken.

The tablet has an 8MP main camera and two 720P cameras separated by 80cm that capture a stereoscopic image with every photograph. This means users like me who loves to take photos have the flexibility when it comes to editing the photos. I can now change the brightness of either a foreground object or a background object instead of the whole photo! I can also refocus on any part of the picture. Not only that, they will be able to do simple linear or area measurements with a photo, like measure the length of a sofa or the area of a room. This would be most useful when it comes to interior designing. Photos are automatically sorted by timeline, geography or facial recognition.

Not sure what I'm taking about, watch this video below for a clearer explanation!

I'm truly impressed!
