Bears are such adorable animals. Cuddly and furry, I wish I can have one as a pet. Recently there's two news for two different species of bears. One is a happy news for the Giant Panda, the other is a sad news for the Polar Bear.

Early next year, the Singapore Zoo will expect two newcomers, which is the two Giant Panda as seen above. They were a gift to Singapore from China to mark the twenty years of friendly ties between the two Countries in 2009. I can't wait to visit them in the Singapore Zoo when they arrives.

On 19 March 2011, the Berlin Zoo lost a precious and famous star of the Zoo (Knut the polar bear). Died at the age of just four years old while the average life expectancy for polar bears is around 35 years old.
- The famous Knut Song -
Knut was saved by the zookeepers of the Berlin Zoo after he was rejected by his mother after birth. Knut soon became the center of attraction of the Zoo but a lot of controversy issue was raised such as whether he should be raised by humans or to let it die after it was rejected. There was also false alarm of him suffering from unknown illness in 2007 when he was kept away from display due to teething problems.
His caretaker Thomas Dörflein died from heart attack in 2008. Now young little knut also followed him to heaven. Rest in Peace.
