[RWS INVITES] Musical Taru 恐龙复活了

Musical Taru is a localised adaption of a Korean box-office hit and award-winning musical. This Mandarin production with English subtitles features life-sized dinosaur skeletons which includes a 2.5-metre tall T-Rex fossil, lots of catchy soundtracks as well as a star-studded principal cast.

- Freya Lim, Mandopop Star
- Ling Xiao, Multi-talented Artiste
- Wong Jinglun, Celebrity Artiste

The show started with the siblings Nali and Gao Feng and their friend Da Fa visiting the museum, wanting to be curators. They spent the day at the museum exploring the different exhibits such as the egyptian mummy and queen, primitives, maritime expedition of Zheng He and various fossils of dinosaurs. As night falls and it was time to return home, Gao Feng realised that he has forgotten to take a photo of himself at the museum for his assignment, the three of them went back to the museum again only to find out that the fossil of a baby T-Rex called Taru has been stolen. The exhibits in the museum came alive as it's full moon that night and together with the three main casts, they forged a friendship with the same mission to save Taru from being separated with his mother, Tila.

The most interesting part of this musical was that the life-sized dinosaur puppets was actually made of 'bones' to make them look realistic and with human controlling the movement like those doing Lion Dances. As much as I enjoyed watching musicals,  I find the plot for Musical Taru a bit too draggy, however, the casts did a fantastic job with the songs and dances which kept me going. There were quite a few laughing points, one of which was how the mummy got it's name as James Bond 詹姆士绷带. The adventure even featured our local landmarks like the Bukit Timah Hill.

This is the second complimentary musical invites that I received from RWS Invites and I had fabulous time enjoying the musical.
Thank you RWS Invites

XOXO

The Lion King at Marina Bay Sands Theatre

It's time to hear the Lion Roar in the Marina Bay Sands Theater with Disney - The Lion King musical. It's so awesome that this musical got extended by two more months from 31st May 2011 and so we were lucky to have gotten ourselves the tickets. Almost every show is full house and we booked in advance of like one month to get ourselves a decent seat.

This multi-award winning musical have been seen by almost 50 million people worldwide and have won 6 Tony Awards in 1998. With music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice, musical score created by Hans Zimmer, choral arrangements by Lebo M and directed by Julie Taymor, this musical is not here to disappoint but to give us the best in term of visuals and sounds.

This show is produced by Disney Theatrical.

The Lion King is one of the heart captivating films from Disney in 1994. Watching this musical is a way to relive our childhood memories. For the first few minutes, the whole theater was transformed into the wild land of Africa. On the stage and by the side stairs, giant, hollow puppets as "animals" start coming in all around. Both our visuals and hearings were fully impressed to the max. African instruments and languages were also used but that did not leave us confused as the body language is clear.

So, do embark on this magical journey with Simba and his friends to their wonderful journey.

Invitation to NINE Gala Premiere at Vivo Movie Max

Took part in a Golden Village movie contest and won an invitation to the movie "NINE" Gala Premiere at Vivo. This is actually a musical movie and with my limited experience watching musicals, I was kind of scared that I would not be able to appreciate this movie to the fullest. Luckily, there do seems to be a storyline to this movie completed with songs and dances.

This movie focus is on the main charecter known as Guido who was a famous director in Italy. He has directed several successful movie but the latest few were a flop and he was thus in trouble coming up with ideas for his upcoming movie. He has trouble with his wife and has trouble outside with his mistress and has trouble concentrating as memories of an erotic lady on the beach he met with his friends when he was a boy keeps coming back to him.

The songs sung are not those that you can remember and get stuck in your mind after the movie has ended because a lot of the songs are simply narrated lines being sung. They would start to sing when a character wanted to express his or her innermost thoughts. The whole movie was wonderful, their singing and the sensual dance moves brought emotions and life to the movie
