[EVENT] FIJI Water’s First Wellness Village in Singapore

FIJI Water is a natural artesian water bottled at the source in Viti Levu  (Fiji Islands). The specialty is that the bottle is untouched by man until you unscrew the cap appealing to consumers who strive for a healthier lifestyles and keeping in mind what is best for their body.

As we all know, water is the most important thing in keeping us alive and one of the most important factor in staying healthy by keeping our body hydrated. Therefore, to promote the two core values of FIJI Water's Brand, Health and Wellness, FIJI Water held their first one-day Wellness Village event at the Sapphire Pavilion of the Sentosa Siloso Beach.

FIJI Water Wellness Village, which was also opened to the public, welcomed a total participation of 200 visitors. Visitors not only could get themselves acquainted with the FIJI Water brand, but also to take photos with the colourful beach-themed floats, or simply just explore the F&B and lifestyle stalls - namely An Acai Affair, Dosirak, KITTED and Apres Avant that are curated specially for one's wellness needs.

The main highlight of this event was the two sundown yoga sessions by the beach, hosted by founder of Yoga Lab and also a prominent yoga instructor, Jasmine Chong.

I took part in the first session together with my blogger friend, Jessie. As I do not regularly workout, I couldn't really catch up with some of the more difficult yoga poses. I took this as a great opportunity for me to relax and have some time to myself to be surrounded by the beautiful sun, sand and sea.

There was also a lucky draw where a lucky participant won the grand prize of a pair of return flights to Fiji and a 5-night accommodation sponsored by Tourism Fiji.

I took part in their Facebook contest to win a pair of return flights to the Islands of Fiji as sponsored by FijiAirways as I uploaded my best FIJI Water moments taken at the Wellness village with their hashtags #FIJIWaterWellnessVillage and #FIJIMomentsSG but the winner wasn't me.

I have to say that the iconic square bottle was pretty cool and the taste did not feel any different from the usual water we drank except for the unique mineral profile.

Till date, FIJI Water has expanded globally to more than 80 countries and is the No. 1 imported bottled water in the United States.

[Networking Event] Second #BlogMeetSG at Pure Yoga

Last Thursday evening, I attended my second #BlogMeetSG event with my blogger friends, Jessie and Joanne. Here's a group photo with the beautiful and friendly Lucy Waring, who is also the founder of #BlogMeetSG. This time, the networking event was held at the fantastic Pure Yoga studio. Time for some healthy bonding and for that one hour, we all participated in an exclusive Jivamukti Yoga Class.

Pure Yoga is the only yoga studio in Singapore that teaches the Jivamukti Yoga and we were really lucky to be able to try it out ourselves. The lovely lady in pink, Kristin, together with the guy beside her, Azmi took us all through a physical and stimulating journey that night. We were inspired to achieve greater inner peace, unity, environmental awareness and karma consciousness through the yoga session with short messages in between. Thank you so much!

Prior to the start of our Yoga, each of us had a bottle of Young Living Peppermint oil by Essential Oil Remedies placed at the front of our yoga mat. A short while later, we were instructed to rub 1 drop of the oil in between our palms before cupping our hands over our nose to inhale the peppermint oil deeply.

Some of the benefits of the Peppermint Essential Oil

#1 Rub on temples to relieve headache
#2 Place one drop in hot water to make peppermint tea to help indigestion & soothe the tummy.
#3 Inhale when feeling dizzy or nauseous.
#4 Apply on the bottom of the feet to reduce fever
#5 Apply on location for muscular aches and pain
#6 Diffuse peppermint to improve focus and concentration
#7 Place one drop in hot water and inhale to relieve sinus and headache

Some of the group yoga photos. These poses may looks easy but it really stretches my whole body till. Photo credit to Lulabelle Lifestyle.

The most difficult pose of the night has to be this pose and Joanne did it so well! She encouraged me to try but I couldn't stretch my leg that far so I thought I might as well help her captured this achievement unlocked moment. So flexible!

The last part of the yoga session was the most relaxing as we just lie down, close our eyes and relax every part of our body.

A spread of healthy snacks as refreshments after our yoga session. There's coconut water, dried fruits and nuts, etc.

Pedestrian Night at Orchard Road : 2nd installation - Yoga Beat

Pedestrian Night on Orchard Road is a six-month initiatives starting from 4th October whereby the stretch of road between Scotts Paterson Junction and Bideford Junction will be temporary closed from 6pm to 11pm on every first Saturday of each month. This is to create a space for community activities for the mass public to enjoy. The first event was a mass Tennis game which I was not aware of.

Yoga Beat is the 2nd installation and is organized by lululemon athletica, in partnership with Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA). This can be considered as Singapore's biggest yoga cum hip hop block party on the street with up to 1,000 yogis lining up the iconic Orchard Road.

lululemon athletica is a yoga-inspired athletic apparel company with a mission to build healthy communities and Yoga Beat is just the first of many fun and exciting events in the lead up to its store opening in Singapore.

This time round, not only did I not miss this big event, I was even given the chance to get the Full Access of the place. Thank you so much for the invites!

The event include performances by local percussionists, Bloco Singapura and music sets by lululemon ambassadors, May Ooi and Alicia Pan.

It's really a sight to behold as the usual shopping paradise, Orchard Road transformed into an open air studio. Yogis get to practice the Yoga moves under the Christmas lights with lululemon Singapore ambassadors, Lynn Yeo and Sumei Shum of space+light yoga, AntiGravity yoga instructor trainer Thicha and Seattle-based yoga teacher, Patrick Beach of Beachyoga. These are all famous local and overseas yoga instructors. Hip hop beats of local musicians DJ Koflow and rapper Kevin Lester was blasted out.

Some of the more difficult poses were performed during the break.

We have our fair share of Yoga movements too!

Having a great time with my friends and enjoying ourselves despite our busy schedules. Looking forward to attend more of such events! Till then, stay healthy, stay happy!

SOULSCAPE - Yoga and Fitness Festival at Sentosa's Tanjong Beach Club (intheloop)

Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practices that aims to transform the mind and body. Prior to this event, I've tried a few sessions of Hot Yoga before but wasn't persistent in going back. Upon leaning that intheLoop, Singapore's first health and wellness digital magazine and online portal is organizing SOULSCAPE, its inaugural Yoga & Fitness Festival, I knew I have to give it a try.

My special pass was mailed to me and this allows me access to the Media Launch Party before the actual event started on the same day. I also received my Sentosa Islander card around the same timing.

The event was held at Sentosa's Tanjong Beach Club, amidst the lush tropical surroundings this year. Love this two group photos taken with my friends.

We were introduced to intheLoop, an online portal to connect and engage the local health and wellness community. The team behind intheLoop are actually instructors, health enthusiasts and fitness fanatics and they came together with a dream to educate, connect and drive conversation between like-minded people. Visit www.intheloop.com.sg to check out their website.

A lifestyle and wellness market was set up on the beach featuring products such as organic foods and cold pressed juice, handicrafts, yoga accessories, alternative healing services, UV body painting and temporary tattoos. All these are in line with promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Thank you Paradigm Wellness for the toe slippers. They organised classes known as Yamuna® Body Rolling with the primary objective of improving the quality of the body and prevent its breakdown. In the class, you will get to learn how to use the Yamuna® balls to locate and work all the muscles of your legs, anterior torso, and posterior torso.

Slacklining is one of the free activity that is subjected to availability upon registration. It is a balancing activity with a suspended stretch of nylon/polyester tied between two points. One can then exercise their balancing skill for activities such as walking, executing tricks and doing yoga poses (Yogalining) on it. A great mental and physical challenge indeed.

Hula Hoop is a fun way to trim the waistline. I'm sure most of us have tried Hula Hoop during our school days. My school even have Hula Hoop competition last time.

Mutual trust and support required if you are doing it with somebody else.

CF and I went to have our arms painted with the UV paints before the main program starts. My sun nice right? My caption for the sun is that even though the sun is going to set soon, I still have a sun on my arm!

Finally, we were asked to set up our Yoga Mat on the sandy beach. The first main program, Sunset Yoga is starting, so let me take a selfie!

The duration for Sunset Yoga is 60 minutes and it's perfect for beginners like me. It was really nice to immerse myself under the beautiful sunset, doing Yoga. Time to reconnect with nature.

Spot the beautiful sunset!

Night performance before the second main program starts.

Time to get ready our glowsticks as Night Yoga Rave begins! I didn't take part in this as I was really tired being out and about the whole day.

Night Yoga Rave is a dynamic 90  minutes flow session under the moonlight with glowsticks and fire torches by the side. This is the highlight of the evening which eventually ends as a spirited dance session.

With CK and CF. We can't wait to get some food, so we bought truffle fries to share. Love our colourful glowsticks too!

Thanks for the invite to SOULSCAPE 2014. It's an unforgettable experience and I look forward to SOULSCAPE 2015, by then I should be even better prepared.
