UNIQLO UT POP-UP! Singapore

The global UNIQLO UT POP-UP experience is finally here in Singapore after stopping around at Tokyo (first stop was at Tokyo's Shibuya Station on 28 March 2013), Taiwan, London, Paris, etc. Over the weekend, here at 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Road is a chance not only to shop for some UT (UNIQLO T-Shirts), the UT POP-UP store will also be featuring works by local artists from Noise Singapore.   

The live band that was performing when I arrived is called 'Enecdote' as I later found out and they were singing the song "Titanium." This is the song I was so crazy about few months back, I practically have to listen to this song on YouTube every morning during my bus ride to work. It was like my power booster. 

Other than good music, what immediately caught my attention and makes me go WOW with my mouth wide opened is this gigantic collections of tees hanging together to form a large centerpiece. This concept totally matches the whole funky atmosphere. Below this collections are rows and rows of tees of various designs. 

Anyway, it's a two storey showcase and level two is where all the tees are for purchase and also where the fitting rooms are so I went to level two to choose my clothes. 

While I was making my payment at the cashier, I was advised by the cashier to go to level 1 to take some photos with their UT camera so that I can exchange it for a discount voucher. I did and I was told to change into my chosen UNIQLO Tee and strike different poses for 3 seconds! Anyway, you can find my animated photo here at the gallery : http://ut.uniqlo.com/sin/  

The photo was later used to create a badge at level 2. Ugly me, only my mum say it's pretty and even put it right at the front of the cupboard. 

This top is what I've bought. Simple designs and very comfortable to wear! What's inside the  UNIQLO goodie bag is a UNIQLO cup and notebook and a packet of candies. 

While I was waiting for my badge to be ready, I went round taking photos of all the random collections that interest me. Not sure whether did I covered the whole level 2, but below are some of the collections that I've taken.

This is the one that I chosen for the 3 seconds photo taking session but I didn't buy this. 

The rest of the collections! I was quite amazed to find so many collaborations between UNIQLO and the other big brands name. Quite an eye-opener trip. 

UNIQLO'S Ultra Stretch Jeans Showcase at Ion Orchard

There's many different cutting for jeans like high rise, low rise, straight cut, boot cut, skinny and etc but I just can't find one that suits me well and one that I can feel really comfortable wearing it. My problem is that I have big thighs so every time the jeans will get stuck halfway there and I'll encounter a hard time pulling it up. This is the reason why I don't like to wear jeans and only own that one pair of jeans from Levi. 

So if I tell you now the new dress code for yoga is jeans, you would probably laugh at me and say are you crazy? How could one go for yoga wearing jeans? The material for jeans is so hard it will restrict the yoga movements. That would be my thinking too until I went to the UNIQLO's Ultra Stretch Jeans Showcase at Ion Orchard on 19th Oct and was so surprise by how stretchable their jeans are! Look at the picture below. See how the lady pose and be shocked!!! Hahaha.

UNIQLO's Ultra Stretch jeans is a revolutionary to our normal conventional jeans. The secret to this great fit is in their innovative new fabric that offers 40% stretch and 90% shape retention. 

We were starstrucked as our seats are just opposite Mediacorp artistes - Joanne Peh and Rebecca Lim. Both of them are so tall, pretty and constantly show their megawatt smiles. Secretly snapped a lot of photos of them before the showcase begins.

Showcasing this season range of eight different colours for the ultra stretch jeans. Brown, dark green and burgundy are some of the fall season's colours. Now, we have more alternatives aparts from blues and blacks, thanks to Uniqlo. 

 Special appearances by lead vocalist of Sixx - Aarika Lee and Singapore's supermodel, Sheila Sim. As commented by one of them, she actually went down to a couple of sizes when wearing Uniqlo ultra stretch jeans. This is such a flattering statement. Imagine if you have to wear size 30 for a normal jeans but for Uniqlo ultra stretch jeans, maybe size 26 would fit perfectly well too.

Next up on stage to share with us their testimonials on Uniqlo's ultra stretch jeans is our most familiar Joanne Peh and Rebecca Lim! According to them, Uniqlo ultra stretch jeans allow them to keep their active lifestyle while having a sporty twist.  

At the end of the showcase, everyone flock over to the stage to take photos of the celebrities. That includes us too. So fortunate to be able to take a photo with my favourite celebrity, Joanne Peh! So happy.

Thank you Uniqlo for the S$50 voucher and goodie bag! I bought my first pair of Uniqlo ultra stretch jeans with this voucher. Since it's my first pair, I shall stick to a more traditional colour - Blue! Haha, ok, I'm gonna add more trendy colours to my wardrobe soon since it's so comfortable to wear. It just hugs your legs and still allows you to carry on with your big movements. This is also an alternatives to leggings and stockings if you are looking for a more casual outing. They provide free alterations too which you can collect it within the same day after a few hours. I altered my pair for it's a bit too long.
