[Events] Lunch at Cherki + ZOOOM by Patch Theatre presented by ACT 3 International + 313 Day

After watching Emerald Hill - The Little Nyonya Story on TV, I've been craving Peranakan food. Just nice, Pink invited us to join her family for lunch at Cherki, located in the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. 

 Cherki redefines Peranakan dining with its modern take on traditional cuisine and uniquely crafted cocktails. The space exudes warmth and elegance, blending turquoise and brown hues with gold to give a modern and contemporary look.  

We ordered the Tingkat Set which comes with one beverage and two sides. We chose different mains but some similar sides. I had the blue pea rice, my girl had the buah keluak fried rice, and my hubby had dry laksa. The food was served in a beautiful, two-tiered tingkat. Each lunch set comes with crackers, sambal and house made Achar. This was the first time we tried buah keluak fried rice, it was super nice. I would want to order it again the next time if we came back here again.

We also ordered the Laksa Lobster Kueh Pie Tee (4 pcs) and Cherki Red Ngor Hiang for sharing.

They sell a variety of cocktails and mocktails and we had the edible cocktail - Sop Story and The Descendants. Berry Mocktail. Very nice presentation. 

Kaya Gula Melaka Tiramisu, Orh Nee Tart and Black Sesame Cheesecake.

Assorted Nyonya Kuih is a must-order. Served warm and so soft. 

After eating, the kids explored level 1 of SCCC as there's still some time before our next event.

Overall, a very pleasant experience dining here. The food had met my expectation and I tried new dishes too.

We headed over to the Victoria Theatre to catch ZOOOM by Patch Theatre, presented by Act 3 international. 

Before we entered the theatre, each of us was given a portable light that will actually changed colours later in the show. Inspired by Harold and The Purple Crayon, ZOOOM's narrative follows a child's imaginative journey when they're unable to sleep at night.  

The show was fun and engaging, with a perfect blend of light, energy and creativity that left a lasting impression. No dialogue was needed. At the end of the show, we queued up to take some nice group photos together with the actress, who was impressively tall. 

Since we were in the area and still had some time, we visited the National Gallery Singapore. Another great place for kids to explore and hang out. 

313 Somerset celebrated 313 Day on 31st March by giving out 1,000 Tangulu from Kang Ji Sugar Coated Fruits, 1,000 drinks from Tim Hortons, and 1,000 scoops of gelato from Vanda Botanical Desserts. I redeemed with the promo codes on the Lendlease Plus app and went to claim them today after our dinner at Genki Sushi. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to redeem the Tanghulu as the staff said it was already sold out.

We started our journey boarding the MRT, along the way, we meet people, some are strangers, some are friends, some are strangers yet to be friends. In between, there are different stops at different stations. Some people alighted and new people boarded the MRT. During the journey, some make their presence felt, some left an impact while others remain indifferent. 

I'm glad to meet a lot of nice friends in my journey and I treasure them in my heart even though some may have already exited the MRT.

[PERSONAL] Clothes Donation at Dressabelle + Clothes Swapping at 313 Somerset

Forced myself to pack my clothes over the weekend due to the two initiatives by DRESSABELLE and 313 Somerset that can give my pre-loved clothing new owners. I have two wardrobe of clothes and some bags of unsorted clothes, all of those are either bought by me or given to me by my friends when they are clearing their wardrobe. I really appreciate cause some of the clothes I received really looks nice and fits me well. Feeling grateful for the kind thoughts of them wanting me to look better.

That's me at Dressabelle, Centrepoint outlet trying out the dresses after my donation. This was taken on Saturday. In the end, I didn't buy this two dresses that I've tried on. 

I first get to know of this wonderful initiative by DRESSABELLE thanks to the FaceBook posting by Que Origin as they were one of the sponsors.

The dress I bought in the end. Usual price cost S$25, after utilizing the $15 voucher, this only cost S$10! So happy for this best buy. 

On Sunday, I came back again with Meryl. I didn't buy anything so only she bought. 

Message behind the discount card. I hope that there will be more of such nice initiate that we can participate. On one hand, we can do our part to give back to society by donating our pre-loved clothes, they can get some business too when we buy new dresses with the vouchers. So it's basically a win-win situation. 

My other bag of clothes goes to the Green & Gorgeous Fashion Swap by 313 Somerset. Today is only the dropped off day and they are really strict in examining the clothes brought to them. A little dot of stain will not get clearance. This is to ensure that during the swap on 19th March, others are getting quality clothes. However, I felt that the quality of clothes can be really subjective. 

Went shopping with Meryl at Metro and they are currently having a membership drive so with our purchase we both become Metro Lifetime Members. Lol.

Dinner was at 49 Seats with Meryl, tried their Tom Yum Pasta. Sauce too thick for my liking but innovative.

And then we had Gong Cha before I left to meet one of the Instagram winner. Really thankful for staying out late with me until the winner is ready to meet.
