[BUFFET] S$54 Nett Asian Buffet Dinner at Food Exchange, Novotel Singapore on Stevens

Novotel Singapore on Stevens and Mercure Singapore on Stevens by AccorHotels is conveniently located in the heart of Singapore, just minutes away from Orchard Road. Forming a joint lifestyle hub, the two properties were opened only recently in 2017. Interestingly, if you look at the two properties on top, both actually came together to form the Chinese character 人 (Ren) which means "people", a reflection of the humanity that is core of the hospitality industry.

Novotel Singapore on Stevens offers three dining options that includes L'Apéritif Tapas Bar, serving signature cocktails and European and Asian tapas; Food Exchange featuring Thai, Indian, European and Singaporean cuisine in a buffet style with live cooking stations; and Novotel Infinity Pool Bar serving refreshing drinks and pool-side snacks.

I was really overjoyed when I received an invitation to experience their Asian Buffet Dinner introduced by Food Exchange in celebration of our nation's 54th birthday. Special thanks for allowing me to bring my little girl along too.

The Asian Buffet Dinner serving a scrumptious spread of Chinese, Indian and Malay cuisine will only be available for a limited period from 5th August to 29th August 2019, from Sundays to Thursdays for a promotional price of S$54 nett (inclusive of tax and service charge)

Some photos taken before we entered the restaurant. I really loved the modernized and open-concept vibe of the restaurant.

We were brought to our seats which were at a long table where we can mingle with the rest of the people. It took Rena a while to adjust to this new environment and she was crying to go home. Thankfully, there was a kids' room just down the walkway. We brought her in to the dining area again when she seems more settled down.

The main highlight and must try dish had got to be this delectable White Pepper Sri Lankan Crab prepared by award winning Chef Dee! The crab was wok-fried to absorb the rich stock and aromatic white pepper gravy, while maintaining the sweetness of a fresh Sri Lankan crab.

This nicely plated white pepper crab was specially served to us by the chef so that we could all taste it while it was hot and this was so good I found myself licking my fingers for the sauce.

Other familiar dishes of Singapore include the all-time favourite Black Pepper Slipper Lobster, Bak Kut Teh, Beef Rendang and many more.

Grilled Satay, Otah and the roast meat were some of the fast moving food items and needed to be replenished constantly.

Today's Chef Special was the Singapore Laksa and I'm glad that I tried this delicious dish!

Big and colourful plate of ingredients for Gado Gado to be mixed and match on your own.

DIY Corner also available for the Rojak, Popiah and Kueh Pie Tee .

The small corner for Salad and Sushi Bar as the mains are mostly asian food.

I am indulging in the unlimited servings of the buffet highlights!

Mee Goreng and XO Fried Rice were some of the staple of the buffet.

I mixed the Herbal Chicken Soup with rice for Rena but ended up eating more than her. Fell in love with the hot soup after all the heavy meal!

As their main chef was an Indian, there was another open kitchen section specially for Indian food. You can see wide variety of north indian dishes which you can enjoy.

My girl enjoying her Indian plain naan.

To end off the meal perfectly, we had the Durian Pengat in a cup which was the most popular dessert. The fridge was always empty for this dessert. Luckily they replenished them quite readily and I got to eat it otherwise I would definitely have regrets!

The Ice Cream corner setup was different from others as they provided the two old school items which singaporeans loved. The potong ice cream and the scooped ice cream in bread. Made you reminisce about the motorcycle uncle who sell these delights.

Hot and cold beverages.

Other dessert choices includes the sago gula melaka, Cheng Teng, Assorted Nonya Kueh and mini cakes.

Not forgetting a beautifully laid out spread of fruits on ice!

As we went on the eve of National's Day, the restaurant was decorated with Singapore flag and playing National Day songs throughout. Time to feel patriotic.
