[Event] 'Make-A-NILA’ event with FairPrice

The Southeast Asian Games returned to Singapore after 22 years and my opportunity to be part of this experience came when I participated in the Make-a-NILA event at NTUC JEM today. This event was organised by the Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organising Committe (SINGSOC), together with NTUC FairPrice. Time to showcase the creative side of us and personalized our very own NILA mascot for the 28th SEA Games medallists. The plush toys represent the symbols of friendship to our regional sportsmen and women.

The Make-a-NILA kit comes complete with needle, thread, cotton wool and a SEA Games outfit for us to customized and write our inspiring message on it. We were also given a packet of Milo while we start our art work.

This is my NILA which I took about 1 hour or so to sew and design. The way I sew the head was not exactly according to the instruction but I think I did a great job. About 4,500 creatively designed NILAs will be presented to the athletes at the victory ceremonies at the 28th SEA Games.

A Certificate of Appreciation and a commemorative photo of me and my NILA was given at the end of the event. Hope the winning athlete who got my NILA would like it.

Thank you!
